So my 2004 717 has mid range break up and again slightly at full throttle. Back off full throttle just slightly and it runs smooth. Its not bogging, like on/off/on/off. My 1997 gti has issue when ingo full trotthle after 5-10 secons just die. I use carburetor shock cable start faster, but my carb doesn't use trothle jet part you show on this video, how can i do
Yes, it applies to all models, all you have to see on the table is the configuration for your model. If its a idling speed issue, id say you most likely just have to tighten the idle screw.
@parkers7009 yes sir. The idle screw is right above the throttle cable connection. Usually has some ears on it. If you wanna message me on instagram feel free to do so, might be easier to talk
i just rebuilt my carbs on a 96 GSX.. the 787… and they are all back together. the jetski idles pretty high and id like to bring that down, as well as my top end RPM when running the throttle wide open. can I adjust this while everything is put back together? thank you!
Yes, of course. I had the carbs out so it would be easier to show on video. All you have to do is remove the air box for access to the screws and then adjust it.
@@CesarGT96 Thanks for the quick response! Can I also do this while it is running? or just keep shutting it off, adjusting, then turning it back on? Thanks again!
I just took mine out on the water today after rebuilding carbs (with mikuni kit), in spec speed screw adjustments, in spec pop off, new fuel lines etc… but at WOT it will slow down, speed back up for a couple seconds, then slow back down again, etc. any ideas?
It's kinda hard to figure out without seeing the actual carb, but what you're desbring sounds like a fuel supply issue. Would you by chance still have the original Fuel filter? Is the fuel entrance needle adjusted correctly? Could also be an electrical problem, maybe a bad coil.
@@CesarGT96 thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I do not have the original filters, I replaced the carb fuel filter and the fuel line filter. Not sure about the fuel entrance needle adjustment, where would that be located? I think I will start by re-adjusting the low and high speed screws and see what happens. It was not noticeable at 50% throttle, but 75-80% throttle was subtle and 100% throttle was just back and forth. Also, if coils are an easy replacement (no idea) I could do that just in case
@@Unicornslayer8u When you open the carb, you will see the needle. Its where you check your pop off pressure. Maybe for some reason the needle is obstructing fuel flow, which would starve it at high RPMs. The coils are a fairly easy replacement on most models (idk your model). They are inside the electrical box on the back. I am not affirming that they are the problem, but if you can't find the problem within your carb, thats def where id look next. It could be as much as a loose connection on the coils that when you get to high RPMs, the vibration makes it cut out. Have you checked your spark plug wires and boots?
@@CesarGT96 okay I will take a look at all these things and see! It’s a 97 GSI. Haven’t had much time to investigate after the test drive. I appreciate your help!!!
@@CesarGT96 update: I replaced the coil and spark plugs, tore down the carb, didn’t find anything, checked the new fuel filter which looked fine, and I installed a check valve in the fuel line. Took it out this morning and it no longer stalls, but now it won’t go over 4900 rpm. So 75-100% throttle there is no difference in speed. There were a couple times it woke up and went faster but it didn’t last long. Only thing I noticed on the tear down was that my gas was an orange/brown color, but the fuel in my filter looked normal. Could this be the issue..?
What exactly are the simptoms? Maybe your pump is shot. Or Fuel filter clogged? Do you still have the original gas hoses (the grey ones)? If so id swap them and carb clean
What are the settings for a 94 657

Sounds like your carb is not getting enough fuel. Check for a dirty carb, clogged filter and bad hoses
Hello, I have the GTX 97. Where can I get the configuration table for this model?
Would this apply to a 95 xp 657x? It drives good but idles super low in the water and dies if I don’t give it throttle.

I got a GS720 that idles stupidly high, should I just hand tighten the screw then start loosening the screw?
You need to loosen your idle/throttle screw. Not the high speed nor the low speed screw.

@GIFTOFGVME the correct way to fine tune it is with it actually running
