I've watched thousands of UA-cam videos and never commented. I can only give one thumbs up, but if possible, I'd give ten. This video showed me precisely what I needed to do, saving me both time and money. Thank you so much for posting it!
Really helpful video thank you. Turned out it was the ballast that was faulty on mine, Kia wanted £800 for a replacement!!... got one on the internet for £30, works perfectly now. :) Also just a warning on 1.19 where the four screws are removed, if it looks like it's not budging, don't force it. check either end and you might find like I did, a screw either side, tucked underneath screwed to the front grill, undo these and it will pop out easily. My car is a 2014 version.
Hey, thanks a lot and I'm very happy that it helped you and that everything works. Thanks for the tip it could also be because I have a 2012 with an old grill and I have exchanged it for a facelift aftermarket grill.
Im not paying my mechanic enough. This looks ..ha ha.. simple enough, given that he has every special tool and technique and that nothing broke or snapped off along the way. More importantly, everything went back the way it should. Take my money, Mr. Mechanic, Youre doing just fine,
Thanks for your video , i have lost during removing from car Headlight Bulb what you have transfered to the new like we can see from 6:50 to 07:07 Thanks for your response
Hello, I must be very sorry to hear that. I have just searched the internet for a part number but unfortunately I couldn't find anything. I am sorry. I would perhaps ask a Kia dealer if they can order this part. best regards
Hello, nice video, tnx a lot :) I have 1 question, how to increase light distance(raise the light distance)? Kia that has headlight washing and xenon does not have the option to adjust the distance of the light beam...
Hello, I'm not sure. But at the back of the headlight by the cover of the xenon lamp there are 2 dials. the height should be adjustable on one of them. If your Kia shines completely on the ground, I would check the height sensor on the rear axle on the right. i hope this was helpful
the part does not necessarily have to be removed, it is sufficient if the 4 screws are removed. you just have to be able to bend the radiator grille a little
Hi, do you really need to disconnect the battery as wont this reset everything? My kia has the navigation system in it so would it lose all the installed addresses. Could you just wait for 12 hours and do it without putting keys in ignition or switching lights on the day after letting it stand overnight or wouldnt this work. Thankyou 👍
@Turboladerschaden Thankyou for the reply, was just worried about getting a shock and wondered if this is why you disconnected the battery but also don't fancy having the nav system reset. Thankyou and thanks for sharing the video.
I do t know if it's of any help now, but someone did this job on my Sportage without removing the headlights. It was on the passenger side light tho. In order to do it, they had to move away the coolant bottle, otherwise he didn't have enough space to do it. I think on the driver's side you can do it by moving away the fuse box.
I have a Kia Sportage 2014, I have halogen projector headlights but can you fit LEDs to these projectors or is it only Halogens? Anyone done this or know. Thanks
@@GavstarLeo Hey, I've already done this on many other cars. The holder for the LED must actually fit and the dust cover must then still fit on it. Unfortunately, I can't say what it looks like on the sportage
@Turboladerschaden Okay thank you, very little information online regarding this as well. Like I say mine are the halogen projectors, but would a HID or LED bulb in a halogen projector cause any damage to the lens or are they perfectly fine to use 🙂
@@GavstarLeo So there should be no damage. You can actually convert any headlight to LED. The problem is usually the large heat sink that has to fit and that you sometimes need adapters for the mounting.
it could be worse, i had a car where i had to replace the xenon bulb through the wheel housing😆. In my Kia it was the first xenon bulb after 11 years. From that point of view, the effort is manageable. Of course it could be easier, I agree with you :)
@@Turboladerschaden yes, the Kia Sorento when i change the fog lights also have to remove the wheel. I like to replace the bulbs for Toyota the most, it is easy, but the light quality of Toyota is not as high as other cars.
@@abdulmohib8921 i'm not entirely sure, but the led strip is not an extra part of the headlight. unfortunately, it is a fixed part of the headlight. the whole headlight will probably have to be replaced :(. Unless you can solder new leds

HI..i have same car but the brightness of my low and high beams are so low, fitting aftermarket is not allowed in Germany unless TUV certified
Hallo, hast du Xenon oder Halogenscheinwerfer?
@Turboladerschaden ich denke Xenon.. Ich kann nicht sagen.. Ich werde mich darum kümmern

@@leejenkinson5882 Don't worry, you unplug the headlight before removing it, so nothing can really happen 😉
thank you. the stealership charges around $600 when the bulb itself costs around $60. i wouldn't mid paying $200 but $600 is a rip off.

yes i can understand, that's why i made a video so it's not quite so bad anymore :)

I don't understand why Kia Sportage designed it to be so difficult to replace the bulb. Other Kia cars have very easy headlight bulb replacement.
