This mindless bureaucracy is discouraging people from wanting to travel and will severely reduce tourism, leading to more economic woes particularly in border communities. Hopefully voters will keep this in mind when they head to the polls in elections on both sides of the border.
Hearty thanks to you for this information 😇I'll be travelling this week. I am extremely excited to meet my wife after 6 long months! Can't wait to get all the procedures done so I can board the flight and run to her. Thanks again!
It would be great if you could do up a video showing the steps if arriving by land? Many Canadians drive to the USA and return through a land crossing. If you are able to do up a video that shows the steps if arriving by land, it'll get some views. :) Thanks for this video ! It was helpful!
@@rvrswmr1953 if ur fully vaccinated you do not need to test or provide any quarantine details to them at the land border. Just show them digital or physical copy of your vaccine card. Which will be with them when sign up for arrivecan.
I did ArriveCan Advanced CBSA Declaration in internet by web browser , so when I arrive Canada Toronto , I also have to scan my travel document in airport kiosk or special boost and feel again all information to get a kiosk receipt ?.It doesnt make any sense .This actually make a lot of time to do
That’s an interesting point. You do need to scan the passport at arrival, so that the system identifies you. But the fact that you need to input information once again - I guess that’s something they are still working on. Thanks for pointing it out, we will try it out next time we travel to see if the same issue is still there
It's Dec 2023. I've just returned from Dominican Republic to Canada. I did registered and filled out all the information on my arriveCan application. When I arrived at Toronto international, there is no option for using this app. I had to go through the regular kiosk, passport, scanning procedure, etc. Seems like pretty useless arriveCan app to me.
Interesting. Thank you for sharing your experience! This app has mostly been used for COVID travel restriction times. Currently it is supposed to help with declaration submission on the border, but it looks like it depends on the airport’s systems🤷🏼 You can report this issue to Canadian Border Services - it might help in the future
Hey, I was wondering which arrival airport to put into ArriveCAN since my family and I are flying to Toronto as our final destination but will be laying over at Montreal for around 2 hours? It only gives me the option to select 1 airport and 1 flight number
This video was SOOOOOOO awesome. Thank you so much! I am actually going back to Canada as a Canadian citizen and I was not feeling so confident, it is so good to see the way the app looks. This is so helpful. Thank you!

hey, so when filling out flight details, where it says country of original departure for example if i departure from Pakistan to Amsterdam to toronto pearson airport. do i put Pakistan or amsterdam there?
Hi, Thank you for your help. I have a question I'm traveling to Montreal at the end of this month I have to layover stop in Toronto but my destination is Montreal. But I'm wondering the ArriveCAN should I write Toronto or Montreal? Plus should I have to do another covid test if I'm vaccinated? Which day I should fill out the ArriveCAN if is it the day I'm traveling? Please 🙏
Hi there. If Toronto is just a layover - meaning you don’t leave clear zone in the airport - your final destination should be Montreal. There’s no covid tests required, you just need to be fully vaccinated. The app is filled out within 3 days of your departure and before you board your flight. For example, if you are leaving on August 30th, you can fill it out starting August 27th
Thanks for sharing the video, I have a question: what if you are unvaccinated and had covid 7 months ago? Do I have to upload the positive covid( which was more than 7 months)and upload a negative test 72 hrs before the flight instead of the vaccine proof? Any idea on what to be uploaded for unvaccinated passengers
Hi Amany, if you are a foreign national and not a Canadian resident, unfortunately, at this point you won’t be allowed to enter Canada. Currently you are required to have 2 doses of approved vaccines, recovery from COVID doesn’t count. Current rules are in place at least until end of September, so if you are traveling after this date, you may need to check updated information further down the road.
Hi there, I had a quick question! If I’m traveling from the United States to Canada and my final destination is Edmonton (YEG), but I have a layover before in Vancouver (YVR), which airport and flight number do I put as my arrival info into ArriveCan? Thank you for your time!
@@natashtepa Hi there, so does that also mean that for the Arrival airport, it would be the Vancouver Int. instead of the Edmonton airport which is the final destination?
@@WarriorsMindAndSpiritOfficial it’s considered to be the flight that first takes you to Canada, even though your final destination is further in Canada. If you put the flight Vancouver-Edmonton, it would technically be internal flight only
What if your driving to Canada just for the day and then drive back home in the U.S., because I live near the Canadian border. We aren't planning staying overnight, but the app still wants us to provide a Canadian adress for our quarantine.

If I do Not get off Ship, can I qualify for an Exemption, since I will not set-foot on Canadian soil, and staying in a Secure Area *Cruise Ship* ?? Where do I get 'the Exemption', I talked to an ARRIVECAN employee, he did not know, if Cruise Ship qualifies, for a 'Secure Area'. Would appreciate an answer, 'If You know it' ??
Hi Chuck, to the best of our knowledge, if you are not leaving the ship, you are not entering the territory of Canada, so you don’t need to have ArriveCAN application
Try to start new application and ship the scan part, go straight to manual option. If the error appears again, try using web browser or contacting ArriveCAN technical support

Around 10+ lack peoples of India already had there Sputnik v vaccine and Indian government not yet approved to have any other vaccine as a booster dose for Sputnik v, are those people allowed to enter canada and quarantine for 14 days(considering them as not vaccinated and allowed to enter in Canada)? By selecting Sputnik v in app? Or they should re-vaccinate with other vaccines approved by WHO?
Hi tha_ravana, rules are changing very quickly these days and we already recommend to check official sources for an up to date information. At the time of this publication, if you don’t have residency in Canada and are vaccinated by one of the NOT approved vaccines in Canada, like Sputnik, you are, unfortunately, not allowed to enter Canada. Please check this questionnaire for more details and keep monitoring possible changing: travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/wizard-start
I'm planning to work in Canada and I am fully vaccinated by Sputnik. But it was not acknowledge by the Canadian government. What should I do? I already take the booster pfizer. Is this enough? Or I need to take the 1st dose and 2nd dose of pfizer?
Hi Oscar. Current rules don’t accept Sputnik as one of approved vaccines. In your case, you will be considered “not fully vaccinated” and will have to quarantine at the address you provide at AreiveCAN - officials will be contacting you and checking on your symptoms etc. You can choose to have your second dose of approved vaccine before coming to Canada, but this needs to be done at least 14 days before your flight. In this case you will be considered fully vaccinated

Hope they let me in. what is the newest version of the ArriveCAN? also i think there are new changes for full vaccinated (no need address for quarantine or something, i am trying to find out now)
Hi Nancy. ArriveCAN doesn’t have new versions and all the requirement updates are already in it. To the best of our knowledge, fully vaccinated travellers don’t need to provide quarantine plan information (needs to be Canada approved vaccines).
Hi Barbara. As per current rules, you are still required to submit ArriveCAN. Please take a look at this link for more information, see paragraph “Driving through Canada”: travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/border#driving

Also what is the best way to download the app at this time? Thank you.
hello, I would like to clarify something, the area that says airline and flight number, I we are using connecting flights, are we supposed to use our first flight details or the final destination flight details?
Hi Dan. To the best of our knowledge, in this section you should specify the flight, on which you will be accessing Canada. For example, if you fly Warsaw-Frankfurt-Toronto, this will be a Frankfurt-Toronto flight. And if it’s Frankfurt-Montreal-Toronto, than you should specify Frankfurt-Montreal
Hi. Thanks for this apt information. If your arrival time is delayed by the airline for circumstances beyond your control, would you need to edit your arrival time on arrivecan app to put in the new arrival time? & does arrivecan allow one to make changes after his/her application has been submitted?
Hi Charly, no, you don’t need to update the app if the airline delays your flight (unless it’s a several days delay). And no, you can’t edit ArriveCAN application. If you already got your receipt, you would need to start over.

Starting point of my flight is Azerbaijan, but I’m transiting from Qatar to enter Canada. So, what I should write to the “country of original departure”? Azerbaijan or Qatar?
You can choose “discretionary travel”, since CUAET gives a temporary visitor visa. When you arrive, you will be invited by the officers to have some paper work done related to CUAET, like work permit. My relatives did that recently and it took them couple of hours - so be prepared for that
I live in USA going on vacation to Canada by car this June 2022. Can I create an account in Arrivecan app and fill out to freate an account. Then when ready to leave add information within 72 hours before crossing border. I am fully vaccinated. So do I still need a pcr test
Hi Janet. Yes, you can fill out your application in advance and save it as a draft. As for entry test, currently fully vaccinated travellers are exempted from mandatory pre arrival testing, so you should be good. Considering the rules are changing very frequently, we recommend checking official website regarding entry to Canada prior to your trip. Hi Rafael. To the best of our knowledge, if you’re not going through customs in Vancouver (e.g. not leaving clear zone and not picking up your luggage and checking it back in for next flight), your arrival point would be Montreal.
In the app you are required to upload both receipts or one vaccination passport confirming both doses. If you don’t have the paperwork, most likely you will spend a bit more time on the border answering their questions.

Hey! I had two questions. My first question is that I am going to be flying to Toronto. I fly from San Fransisco to Calgary, Calgary to Toronto. Which flight should I put in the app for when it first asks for the flight information. My second question is that I am traveling to Canada to see my family and tour the country. Should I put my reason of flying as tourism or family? Thank you!
Hi Greg, to the best of our knowledge, you should specify the flight that first brings you to Canada. So in your case that would be San Francisco to Calgary. As for the reason for travelling, Family reunion is more for the cases that you are planning to stay in Canada based on family rejoining application. That implies you having a certain list of documents like proof of relation etc. in your case it would make sense to put Discretionary/Optional travel as your reason

Hi Mayra, you can pre-fill the application and save it for later. You’ll have to input placeholder information for your flight, because it only allows you to choose 3 days in advance.
