I have the 1/4" drive short neck version and absolutely love it. Use it virtually every chance I can. I about near slapped myself the first time I got it wondering why I waited so long. It speeds up your productivity a lot. Highly recommend these to anyone in the market for one.
Have you found it worth it to buy two diffent lengths? I'm thinking of doing the same, but I'm on the fence about the amount of juice I'll get from the squeeze.
@@skycorrigan6511 I bought them when they first came out from Snap On they only had the stubby version. IMOP if you don't have one just get the long reach version. But they are time savers
I love the snap on 3/8 long neck ratchet and use it daily the one thing I don’t like about it is the forward / reverse twist function is difficult to change at times
Great video I traded my rachet in about a month ago it was the short neck version of the brute I use it more for taking sheet metal off or radiators out of machines than I do anything else I work on heavy equipment and screeners so its more of a time aging rachet than my go to for anything
Just got the Brute and I love it. I own all Milwaukee except for Brute and the CT761. I’m with you on the torque. The rpm difference is not significant in actual use, and I like the convenience of the extra torque.
Great Video Brosuff. I just picked up the Snap-On Brute Long Neck Leading into Thanksgiving. I did a Video on it. Tommy’s 3/8 Infinium Long reach broke within a month took 6 weeks to get repaired and within 1 week broke down again. What a POS. Im thinking I’ll pick up the standard length Kit within the next month. 🍻😎🤙
I got the matco since it has the smallest head out, I'm also getting the brute too. Each one will have a different purpose. And I bet whoever makes the matcos i bet itll come with more power in the next one
I'm getting the Matco today because it's exactly what I hoped for; Longer neck and smaller head. I'm not one to pay much attention to the torque output because I'm usually breaking or torquing my bolts with something else. Also, because it's in the same 16v battery line, it's gotta be made by SP Tools.
Less tq and faster speeds is what makes sense to me. We all brake bolts loose by using it manually most of the time anyway. At least thats what i do but I'm a home diy guy so maybe I'm wrong for comercial use.o
I have the OG snap on long neck 3/8 and used a coworkers long neck brute this pst week and loved it. I'll be getting one soon as soon as they come out with colors besides just red 😂
Compare it with the new matco long ratchet if your going for head size. Longer and slimmer. I have snapon but have a matfo one on order. I don't care as much for the milwaukee ratchets they seem to be big bulky heads
Good video rustbelt i prefer the higher rpm like you said it is a personal preference. I did not know about the rebuild snapon program thanks for sharing that with us. Keep up the good videos dude you been cranking out some killer videos lately preciate you bro 👍
I seem to find the 1 year warranty is not enough, both my 14.4v Gun and ratchet broke just outside of warranty, the good this however snap on tool overhaul programme is great! They basically send you a completely new tool back each time for £50.00 in the uk. That said, when your paying £250+ for gun and battery I would expect a minimum of at least a 2 year warranty!
I was disappointed in the Milwaukee long neck ratchet the head of the ratchet was way too big for what I needed and seeing the snap on smaller head design not change is what’s gonna sell me on this thank you for video
I'm a diesel tech student and mostly went with Snap On, including the long neck 3/8, but I've always been curious about Ingersoll Rand's power ratchets, and they make a 1/2 in version. Maybe you could compare those one day?
Hey buddy...I have the IR and Milwaukee and I have to say I prefer my snap on..feels better in my hand and the brute is great I own short and long as well as the ones with lower torque...very durable.
Milwaukee is not "a little bit higher on the RPMs" than the 767, it's 55 foot pounds at 200 rpm vs 40 foot pounds at 275. That's why the Snap-on was more desirable and also why I don't get the positive spin on the Brute because it's so damn slow (175 RPM) in order to achieve it's higher torque. Nine times out of ten you're using your own muscle to break fasteners free anyway. Matco actually traded torque for speed precisely due to guys complaining it wasn't fast enough. Snap-on does the opposite and it gets praise. I don't get it but I guess that's the Koolaid for you.
Guess it’s just a choice of preference. Myself and quite a few other people I’ve talked to prefer the lower RPM and to have the higher torque. Mostly because 9 out of the ten times I am personally using the long neck, it’s because it’s in a place that is hard to reach and I cannot move the tool to break something free.
Matco did it again with the long neck version they have, the SP Tools version is 40ft and 250 rpm, matco had them drop it to 35ft and take the speed up to 310.
I look at it this way. Im a tech in California working on Hondas and Toyota and I don't need the brute. As far as I'm concerned std 275 rpm and the 40 pounds of torque is perfect. I know if I was was in the rust belt location i would definitely have brute ratchet with the power to remove stubborn rusted bolts. I don't think the std ratchet would get that job done efficiently in the rust belt location. The said the std ratchet is perfect because add speed and won't break the head of the bolts easily also easy to work with.
I need the 768, my 767 just released quite a bit of smoke. But in it's defense, I beat the bejeezus out of it. And apparently the repair center is closed due to the virus, at least that's what my dealer said
@@RustbeltMechanic I was just told this Friday it was closed this week, Someone tested positive. This is the Crystal Lake repair center and since I am by chicago that's where it goes. Ain't going now
Thanks for your amazing video! I have one question, so I bought a new ratchet from snapon truck, and it leaking oil type of liquid from the square drive. I know you know lots of snapon products. Is it normal? Thanks!!
That’s normal, some assembly lube likely from factory. The middle of the reverse switch on the back of the head is also where you grease the head in the future.
So you would not want to use it installing plastic valves covers or intake manifold that require inch pounds? The plastic intake is 71 inch pounds and valve covers are 106 inch pounds.
Man I bought the 768 I’m very disappointed that shit is slow at first I thought the battery was dead or weak then I realize the tools is just slow slow smh I’m not happy
How often does the brute break 8,10, and 1/4-20 fasteners. I work in a factory and i do a ton of work with these sizes. Im just worried about 70ft lbs and if people are breaking fasteners or if the speed reduction is enough to control the ratchet or maybe feather the trigger.
It definitely can break those size fasteners easily. That’s why I don’t recommend this ratchet to newer techs who haven’t used electric ratchets very much
Only with air from what I have found...been a Brute fan for years even after a bad hit in the 90's that tire up my finger on a trans fwd case rough cast edge. Hehe The 768 I am not impressed with reverse toque at all but better than grabbin an air hose I reckon ! I'll be Popeye again in no time lol
I have both long and short. It feels just like using an Ingersoll air ratchet, those that twist the shit out of our arm. They'll break shit if youre not careful.
I can only speak for as long as I’ve owned them. I’ve owned the 1/4” short 2 1/2 yrs, 1/4” long 1 1/2 years, 3/8 standard 2 years, 3/8 brute since October...... and I have not sent a single one in for repair yet.
I spent so long comparing the snap on power ratchet to milwuake. I ended up going for the milwuake and it's been a life saver. But the one I have is the short, standard head. I wasn't convinced on the long neck.
If Snap on is slightly above Milwaukee, I would buy the Milwaukee. 1.The Milwaukee M12 tool lines is far more extensive compared to Snap on. 2. The price of Milwaukee is less than Snap on. 3. The Warranty for Milwaukee is better than Snap on. 4. Depending on your Sanp on dealer the customer Support for Milwaukee is better.
SLIDEWAYSLIDEWAY size of head comparison....not just the torque and rpm...it doesn’t matter if the tool can’t get to the fastener...Snap On wins that every time
Look at the tool box behind him. Lots of guys are totally brainwashed by snap on. In the old school days there were no electric ratchets. Most guys never even used air ratchets. Guys these days spend way too much money on tools.

I have the Matco 3/8 Long orange, 35 ft lbs didn't feel light when the ratchet smacked my face xD!
Matcos new 3/8 long neck looks nice, the head is tiny. Torque isn't an issue as I break most bolts by hand before pulling the trigger.
Compare it with the new matco long ratchet if your going for head size. Longer and slimmer. I have snapon but have a matfo one on order. I don't care as much for the milwaukee ratchets they seem to be big bulky heads

Those things are huge. Do you work on farm implements? My AirCat is so much thinner and more nimble than those electric toys.
Milwaukee in australia 5 year on tool 2 year on battery
I wish I I could find snapon tools just sitting in the middle of the road.
Well it was a partial snapon tool at least 🤷♂️
My thinking with tools is I grab a cordless ratchet for control and power, if I want rpm I grab a cordless impact.y
That’s kind my thinking as well.
