The reason the 'side lights' remain on if you switch off the ignition is that really they are 'parking lights'. You're not supposed to drive around with just those on. If you judge the light or weather conditions require lights, you should put dipped headlights on.

I have a VW crafter van, how the hell do you adjust the blindspot mirror? cant move it with hands and cant fin any controls? it's not much use pointing down at the ground lol
