Gulab Jamun with Milk Powder
Recipe in English:
Ingredients:
Sheera (Sugar syrup):
-Pani (Water) 2 Cups
-Cheeni (Sugar) 1 Cup
-Hari elaichi (Cardamom) slightly crushed 7-8
Gulab Jamun:
-Dry milk powder 1 Cup
-Maida (All-purpose flour) ½ Cup
-Baking powder 1 tsp
-Hari elaichi (Cardamom) seeds ½ tsp
-Ghee 3 tbs
-Doodh (Milk) ¼ Cup
-Ghee for frying
Directions:
For Sheera (Sugar syrup):
-In saucepan,add water,sugar,cardamom and cook until sugar is dissolved.
For Gulab Jamun:
-In bowl,add dry milk powder,all-purpose flour,baking powder,cardamom seeds and mix well.
-Add ghee and mix until crumbled.
-Add milk and mix well,cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
-Wet your hands with water and knead until smooth dough.
-Now makes 10-12 small smooth balls of same size,make sure they have no cracks.
-In wok,heat ghee and fry on low flame while stirring gently.
-Make sure ghee is not very hot otherwise gulab jamun will not cook well from inside or will burn.
-When gulab jamuns becomes golden,add them directly to the hot sugar syrup and leave it for 30 minutes.
-Garnish with pistachio and serve.

-Saucepan mein pani,cheeni aur hari elaichi dal ker cheeni ghul janay tak paka lein.
For Gulab Jamun:
-Bowl mein dry milk powder,maida,baking powder aur hari elaichi seeds dal ker ache tarhan mix ker lein.
-Ghee dal ker crumbled hunay tak mix ker lein.
-Doodh dal ker ache tarhan mix karein,dhak ker 10 minutes kliya refrigerate ker lein.
-Haathon ko pani sa geela karein aur dough ko dubara ghond lein.
-Ab is mein sa ek size ki 10-12 choti smooth balls bana lein,is baat ka khayal rakhein ka balls mein koi cracks na hun.
-Karhai mein ghee garam karein aur halki ancch per fry ker lein aur musalsal stir kertay rahein.
-Is baat ka khayal rakhein ka ghee bohat ziyada garam na ho werna gulab jamun ander sa kachay reh jayenga ya phr jal jayenga.
-Jab gulab jamun golden ho jayen tou foran garam sheeray mein dal dein aur 30 minutes kliya chor dein.
-Pista sa garnish ker ka serve karein.
Yr jo koi bhi mera comment perh raha hai to plz 1/4 cup milk aik sath na dalna sambhalna bohat mushkil ho jata hai or doosra ye ka ager kisi ka frying pan non stick nahi hai to ball ko aik dafa maida me coat kr loo or teesra ya k agr normal balls banana hain to 1 tsp ka ball banana frying or sheera me jana k bad khod hi bohat acha phol jata hai. But on the other hand bohat tasty tha. Mujhy kuch problems aai to socha k share kr don 😄😄😄❤❤❤❤
Followed same recipe but my dough was very sticky.
That's why i said that 1/4cup aik sath na dalna sticky ho jati hai dough 😄

@@Anaumkhan20071 syrup should be cool, 2 dough should be soft (not too much ) , 3 after frying it wait for few seconds then add into syrup, 4 syrup should be a very little bit thick when it is cool,,,,,,best of luck 👍reply after trying again 😊

I tried this recipe today, my gulab jaman were not properly cooked from inside, but I tried again and again and I won 🥰 my family got shocked to see the gulab jaman. I am very thankful to food fusion.
Note: food fusion should demonstrate proper instructions like flame of stove while cooking, how to put balls in pan, cracking balls solutions, because all negative comments are the reasons of this incomplete instructions.

@@bismahammad9309 I try exactly recipe as they shown but I add milk according to my dough, because I faced same issue balls were cracking, when I dip balls in sheera after cooking they were not cooked properly from inside then I decrease the flame of stove and cooked on very low flame, after cooked well I dipped in sheera, and put balls slowly in pan after properly making of balls without crack to fry, and I try one by one to see results , but you don't need to try one by one you just follow instructions carefully , Inshallah you will be success and will enjoy 😀

Made it today. Came out good. One of the trick in frying is to keep the oil spinning in circles in the pan. Either by moving the pan or stirring with spoon. It browns and cooks gulab jamuns evenly.

I made them today...but after i took them out of the frigde i couldn't knead it...i had to add alot of milk to knead them....but after that i fried them nd they didnt break ...and i put them in the syrup...it didnt get hard also...jazak Allah for recipe❤
I tried them today but ended up with scattered batter so my mum suggested me to add an egg to it. I added egg, milk powder and flour ans then it came wonderful. No wonder my mom is amazing. MASHA'ALLAH

Tried them today and came out perfect and soft.. for all those people who discourage or are disappointed wen theirs dint come out correct. Pls keep patience while making.. even i was about to get disappointed when my dough dint seem to be right.. but while making the balls even if the dough is breaking the trick of using water on ur palm and then making the laddoos just helped my effort .. thanks food fusion for the recepie

I had read all the comments and was little reluctant if I really want to try this.. because of lockdown I had some local milk powder and not nido... I tried Half of the measurement which is given and it followed instructions thoroughly and it came out really really well... they did not break, they where soft and taste was awesome, the dough was sticky and after keeping in fridge it did become good in consistency... I cannot post photo here so I am sending it to you on Instagram... I am fan since long but never messaged or send photos but I just wanted to send this one message as the negative message is actually killing the confidence Atleast for this one recipe... they are great and taste great too!

No, not baby formula... any local milk powder will do... I did not have nido and what I used was a local brand

I tried this recipe. But because of some comments about the failure, I changed the measurement; 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of milk powder & only 2 tbsp of margarine (no ghee in here). I cannot make the "balls" without cracks because the dough kind a sticky. The result, even though the gulab jamun is not as beautiful as in the video, I made it. It's taste good. At least finally I can taste the Gulab Jamun with the ingredients that I can find easily in here. (For example, we don't have semolina/rava or chickpeas flour/gram flour/besan flour in here). I tried it today. They come out extra ordinary delicious. yeah some of balls got melt because of crack. but ball with no crack are perfectly made. its a good recipe.
I found that if you leave cracks in the balls they well become mess.

To those using Everyday milk powder; it's a tea whitener and cannot be used for cooking purposes. For the recipe to work it has to be WHOLE MILK powder, of any brand. I haven't tried this with nido since it gives a pretty strong distinct flavour to desserts in my previous encounters, never the less it will work.

Sometimes the result comes not perfect the gulab jamun breaks after add in the syrup sometimes these are makes very hard and some times these are break while frying

Made these today. Used nestle buniyad as couldn't find nido. They turned out so well. 😋
I also used the buniyad one but they just melted in the ghee
I just made this recipe and it turned out perfectly. For those pointing out to a lack of binding agent,ie, egg, please note that the recipe has half a cup of white flour. If you knead it well, gluten is activated and the gulab jamuns make nice firm balls.
Make sure to fry on a low flame.

The same problem goes with me for Ras Malai when i came to Pakistan and used Local Nido Powder it broke while it never used to break in KSA so used Foreign Nido it works great in every recipe
Bas dekhnay mein easy hai tried exactly as shown aur frying pan mein sab aata ban gya 😒 and now i can relate to other ppl who are saying this recipe didnt work out

Hi Food Fusion. I've been practicing alot on this recipe. I've finally managed to fry without breaking the balls. Only problem left is when I place them in sguar syrup. They absorb so much water in become too soggy 😣 Help!
Remove them from syrup when you think its done
