What happened to the whole “welcome to the worlds greatest two minutes in robotics” quote?
"During the last 10 seconds of the match, there are no horizontal expansion limits."
oh boy...
Well this game is going to be hectic. So many different ways to score. Seems kind of simple in terms of what to do, but the middle of the match is going to be a large change in intensity in comparison to Tipping Point. I'm excited for the challenge, but I think a lot of teams (including my own) are going to have a hard time adjusting to this early season.
Although the game itself is more simple than tipping point at the highest level this game won't be decided by auton

This looks awesome! There's never been a "frisbee" game object before, and the Low Goal definitely adds a good challenge. Tipping Point was my last season, but I hope everyone that's still competing will have fun with this new game!

I’m so sorry. Tipping point was easily the worst game ever designed. My last game was tower takeover.
FRC 2013's game, ultimate ascent, used a frisbee game object.
My last game was "In the Zone," but I've been reffing since I graduated. It's a great way to stay involved, give back, and yell at teenagers.

I was there when this was announced live and my first idea was it being possible to win without moving since when the other team misses you get a point (Luigi wins vex round by doing absolutely nothing)
Was also there. The crowds reaction to the contest was priceless.
I think I lost my voice in the Vex Dome, the crowd was crazy but amazing, good luck to everyone in 2022-2023!!!

I love this, especially with the risk/reward of going for high goals and points for covering the field. I can't wait to see how it all plays out :O

I'm looking forward to this game! (Also Spin Up can have two meanings: the discs spin when you send them up to the towers, and you spin the rollers so your alliance color faces up so that it can cover all the space between the pointers.)

The music they used is Danger Show by Dan Henig. They sped it up in the game video and modified it. Didn't think I would find it while watching Code Blue Cam on UA-cam.

I never compete in the VRC, the first time I join, Every team is full in my hometown of Zanesville, Ohio
I play VIQC games but last year I didn't get my very first VRC kit from my parents on my 18th birthday last year.
My first VRC game ended up at Mid-East CTC Zanesville, not Zanesville High School.
This seems like a very solid game with no big flaws. This will be an interesting season.
Haven’t you realized by now all vex games have flaws, but this game seems really well thought out
Unfortunately, It's had a bunch of flaws so they have to keep modifying the rules, It's also not a great game to watch since 50% of each match is the judges trying to count which tiles the strings are touching. Really, there are too many elements and the winning robots are the ones that simply park in the center and deploy a bunch of string at the end.
The rollers are super unreliable

Wow what an interesting concept. My friend RJ hates the new concept because the new game doesn’t seem adequate for the modern technological status quo. He reads the entire game manual each year and can recite each line. He claims robotics is his sport and he is my biggest inspiration. 🤖🤖🤖🤖🤖.

All the frisbees are going to end up with a bit taken out of every disk by the end of the season just like those foam foot balls form middle school

Loved this years game. As a new team, we enjoyed the challenge of building such advanced mechanics. We would have created and refined a auto shooter if we had more time. Unfortunately we didn’t qualify for worlds - Hopefully next years game will be just as challenging (hopefully involving projectiles as well) 🎉
As someone that does FIRST robotics I can say that this looks so much more fun then out game this year 😂

Well this is going to be interesting. This time players are going to have to focus on accuracy, and retractable movement that’s horizontal instead of vertical! All of the distinct and different ways to earn points will have players covering more bases than compared to Tipping Point. Im excited to see what I can do!
