  • After chemo #2 my hair started coming out. I knew I was going to lose it but the loss came barreling at me against my will. So I took a few minutes to make this video, tell you how it feels, and say a tearful good-bye to my hair.
One thing I forgot to say: "Hair, I'm sorry for any day I said you didn't look good or that it was a bad hair day. Truth is I'd do anything to have my worst hair day back."
Later this week, we documented me shaving my head. Make sure you check that out.

This is the first I’ve heard about cold-capping. I have heard of people using ice on extremities like hands or feet? Thanks, as ever, for these videos - and for using your voice with such honesty and openness.

Yes and I've got a friend who is doing it now (different chemo regimen) and so far it's working for her! She has such nice hair, too! I love everyone's hair.

Hi Tanya, I just started catching up on these videos and I am so grateful for the powerful truths you are sharing with us.
I'm so sorry you had to lose your hair. It's not fair and it sucks.
You've always really inspired me and I was so glad to run into you at Once On This Island -- you felt more like a celebrity to me than the people onstage! Looking forward to seeing your gorgeous pixie cut, and every version of you in between.

Love you too Aimee! I don’t think I’ll cry for my headscarves, but I’ll thank them someday, too. And my earrings, when I go back to the boring ones.

Hey Tanya! Hats, scarves, wigs, and bald are all great options. I wonder if you have thought about henna on your head. A friend of mine did that in her own “cancer project” and it was amazing and, it seemed, very meaningful. If that resonates with you, I could perhaps connect the two of you. Thinking of you often.

Thank you for your videos ❤️ I wish I had found them a few months ago when my journey started but so glad I found them now. I found my cancer while breastfeeding my second child. It means a lot to me to hear your story as I am about to have surgery and start AC, all after 12 rounds of Taxol.

You’ve got this! I’m two years out of treatment and taking my exemestane and lupron now. My body isn’t the same but it’s healing every single day. I’m grateful for all I learned. And I keep my hair short!
