I love how all three of us are having different takes on this. (My video will go up tomorrow, I have to edit it.) And um, you said in the video that they are doing things to please them instead of the playerbase, and I really DO think this is true because of what Yvla said in her instagram story that went UP with this blog post to promote it. (Which they should have pinned but didn't.) They are having so much fun creating, I don't want to call it a game, but ART for THEM, they are totally disregarding how the community feels about the lore, and the look of the game. I'm only around and keeping it on my computer to get content for future videos. That's it. Or else, I'd be deleting it. And I'm sitting here going, "Do we need to rewrite this as fanfic or make it an IP buyout?" It's so SAD. (And I'm emotionally exhausted, so that doesn't help my cynicism.)
I seriously think it’s dying. It says that there’s millions of players on every day, but I’m on night star (one of the biggest and most valued servers in US, because of the famous UA-camrs on there) and there were like no people on at all, at any time

Katja is the only one that’s the saving grace of if there’s any dark rider that turned out fine and still recognizable besides the sudden change to a horse named mortifa (but does look like a bad ass) sending stalker to somewhere else and questionable on the violin bit, but I hope they don’t destroy her character background. From here I’m about to sound really heated so I apologize. Everyone else dear god. Sabine’s hair looks like licorice with her fortnite x Abby from last of us part 2 not even close to the bratty rich equestrian we’ve known for over 10 years. Jessica I don’t understand why the sudden change to Jay and then now going from a model trying to compete with Anne to a waiter wannabe older version of Jlo and regardless she will be known as Jessica because of the books and the starshine legacy games cause it looks like sso tried to fire Jessica. Choiyo is the most underwhelming because how can you build up a dark rider that’s supposed to be mysterious and try to beat the shit out of you and you end up with an annoying looking girl you could fight in Pokémon in every color of the rainbow with a hobby horse that’s supposed to be “everything is not like it seems” when it looks like sso not even knowing their story is not what it seems.What got me into sso wasn’t just horses being my favorite animal, but I loved their story. When the new wildwoods quest came out it felt like I was reading the dialogue of toddlers fighting each other with so many damn obvious points on who it was that destroyed their Rubix Pandoria cube. Even saving fripp was underwhelming because of how it just felt like another Druid mission in terms of previous mechanics from stuff we’ve done with running point a to be and not really being involved with the soul riders. On top of that for the people saying it’s like James or Andy the thing is James and Andy were still recognizable and stayed true to their character. James was still a scamming entrepreneur kid and Andy was still someone trying to get their sheep. The dark riders are people that most of the player base have known for years longer than Andy and James could ever imagine. People are upset because now the lore is as messy as trying to connect the dots in a horror game. They went from screaming rude badassss that you want to defeat to wannabe ripoffs and underwhelming choices. I’m not gonna be surprised if the quests are gonna be messy cause idk how I’m gonna be fine with the damn lore at this rate. I hope they see that this is a huge ass no no and they need to look at how this will affect them long term because imagine if some big mmo UA-cam tried to make sense of the lore or play this game. It’s already going down hill but it could potential start to go down at rocketing speed without even knowing it.
SSO is basically what *not* to do if you want to have a successful game with an active player base what was once so promising and exciting to explore has been torn apart by greed

Star Stable doesn't know their own characters, and the new Dark Riders have shown that there's nobody working on the quests or following the lore at all at this point. Helena is screaming in the background there with her books that just became unrelevant to the story 💔 I just wish Star Stable would focus on the game's content instead of cosmetics (horses), it's overwhelming. And honestly? The character update was meant to be released this year, and all they've done is concept art? Bruh. That shows that their focus isn't on major things anymore. Only minor, nothing updates, matter now. The new Wildwoods quests? Very questionable, the dialogue got me cringing there. SSO hyped it up with Star Rider offers, saying how it's SOOO important and how the stakes are EXTREEMELY high. We didn't even do anything in these quests, and they tried appealing to new players and their parents to buy Star Rider, saying time and time again that it's so important. Bruh... If I could, I would just revert back to 2016, before the MyStable update, and then I could maybe get some fun from the game.
i completely agree. can i also add that their only announcements for 2022 were updated dark riders and updated characters, which, correct me if i’m wrong, were also a part of the last year’s announcement? no mention of updating training system and championships - which we’ve been promised for years, no mention of anything promising. they can’t even dare to promise anything at this point lmao because they’ve realized we don’t have the memory of a goldfish. also? we’ve only got concept art of the updated characters and they’re still in the process of answering all of the questions that should’ve been answered a while ago if they were truly planning on releasing these this year. i honestly don’t believe they’ve been working on our characters as much as they claim they did. i’m glad that the community is audibly upset though.
YES. The concept art is outreagous. Not only we got some laughable quality, but also it's JUST concept art. No prerender, no model, no nothing. Just "we can paint in 2 weeks" and nothing valuable.
It's not just with the Dark Riders! They've completely changed the fact that we're supposed to be Aideen as well. Like, that has been the base story since the beginning and now it's "everyone makes their own destiny" it's like...that concept is all fine and dandy but that has never been the story of the game. I've talked about this a bunch and I'm tbh tired of speaking on this. They don't care, they'll do strictly what they want and that's it
Honestly, I wouldn't really care all that much, since we all already know how shitty they are with their reference material, if not for the HUGE story change. Elise (or Nihili, if you will) was such a great opportunity to do something interesting with the main quest, but instead they decided to make an entire new (probably really shallow and boring) character instead. Also, instead of the whole 'Jessica is now jay' thing, they could have made her (jay) Elise, and I'm 100% sure a significant portion of the player base would be satisfied with that. I love her design, but I could say the same about the Jessica I grew up with. This whole situation feels like a fever dream.

Yep! The backlash is quite intense. I'm actually a little surprised, usually it's a bit more contained. But the players are just so done, it's just one dumb change after another, plus broken updates. It's not good, and it's exhausting to try and find a reason to love the game still. Glad to see you here Eleanor! ♥
The new dark riders look like completely different characters from completely different games, they have no vibe together at all. So I'm curious as to how their group dynamic will work. But let's be real, the first time we will even get to have a 5 minute dark rider quest will be in like 3 years.
Even on the showcase art only 2 of the characters interacted. Though i can see this implemented in the story as they don't get along well in contrast to the Soul riders close friendship.
That’s true they do look very different but that’s how it is with all the characters, think about how different James is now or Andy, they all look very different
Personally, I think their dynamic will be cool because of how they all look. I don't know how to explain it but a dynamic with characters that don't even flow well together can be pretty interesting
I know this is very specific but the fact that they made Katja have a boho witchy aesthetic and still gave her horse fancy modern dressage tack bothers me so much, it looks conflicting aesthetic wise 😆
This comment will contain a funny thing called OPINION. If you think your's is better or you simply can't stand others having one, i suggest not reading this and moving on UwU. (also slight cursing, but shh~) Ps. this is a long text, oopsie :'D Yay a rant finally! I have been waiting for this long time! Okay, so... We can start from the winter village. Not only is it glitchy (you also figured out the one glitch i got and i lost the race, lol), but it is also empty and even though they updated the trees a little bit better, it looks blank and deserted because of the new layout. When i lost the race i simply wanted to send sso a rant mail, but then i remembered they don't read them UwU. Not to mention the glitches and bugs in the halloween event... Sso simply don't care about the old players and not even the remotadly new ones either. This is all a game for them, who can make the most money out of a year. I am no way in hell blaming the people who work there for their money so they can survive, i am blaming the CEO, share holders and upper guys, whoever and however you wish to call them. They are the reason why this game is dying on it's tracks faster than you can say "monkey ate a banana in a tree." I personally believe that if children/their parents saw rattles and other content creators videos about sso, they would not buy /install this game in to their child's computer. I am not kidding, if i was a mom (which i am, but not for those nasty ugly ass- things that come out of you, but a fur baby mother :3), i would not buy/install sso on their computer, not buy lifetime or star coins, because i know that ones this child would reach the level 22, they would have nothing else to do in the game and sso would simply stop caring and screw them over. Instead of sso saying "this is a magical horse game full of life an adventure" their slogan should be "We only make horses to get money and stop giving shit about you, when we have your money". Summs it up to me at least. Sso also does not listen to us when we try to tell them something, more on this later. I do believe that some of the gen 2 horses are better than gen 3 horses. There i said it. The gen 2 horses are better than the gen 3 horses. And here is why: 1. Updating horses that don't need it - This is self explanatori, but i will sum it up. Sso said that they would SLOWLY update the old models to nowadays graphics. Fair enough i see where they are going with this, HOWEVER it did not mean you would take a perfectly fine horse such as arabian or icelantic and re model them. We as a community thought you would re model say the Oldenburk. You know that sad horse on the horse market no one wants to buy because it's "old model". 2. The generation 3 friesan. - ...I- Do i even need to...? Okay... *sigh* I was in a club where the owner of the club owned an irl friesan horse. She was very proud of her horse and this horse was called (it probably is still, hope it's not dead D: ) "Black death". She loved this horse and she was excited about the gen 3 friesans as were all of us. Sso even asked us feedback on the horse and community answered excitedly, hoping that sso would listen them. And 2 months later, the friesan came and it destroyed our hopes and dreams and some of us rage a lot over it. Sso paid no heed to what the community said, instead they brought the horse out as it was presented to us in the grey scale. Way to f go sso... You are now wondering what does this has to do with my club and the owner? Well haha funny story. She ended up fuming over the edge, sending sso the biggest most awful email, she could ever write on her great mind, because sso completyle ruined her favorite breed/horse. It ended up becoming so bad that she stated "no one in this club is allowed to buy that horse or you will be kicked out." And some of you might be like "haha her club died" but no, it did not, because the whole club agreed that this was the most disgusting thing sso had brought to the game, lol. The owner soon after quit sso and i sometimes hear from her, her horse ended up having a mare friend and they had a foal. Nice ending for them :) I could go on about this, but i shall end it with this one. As you said sso realised a sneak peek of the new dark riders. I say it again and read it carefully. The. New. Dark. Riders. Now read that, hold that thought and now explore it. Sso simply gave us and the older players the middle finger on this one. They pretty much said "f the lore, we don't give a shit" and gave us, buffed sabine, a little girl with a wooden horse and a guy(?) character, even though they refuse to bring male characters as an option to the games and then Katja, (katja gets a one train ticket to the safe land, because she was the only one, old players approved, so yay to her :) ). However, sabine, the snoppy, rich ass, the "perfect" dressage queen was now transformed into uh... A motorcycle rider...? What the actual F? This is what set up the flames up in the old community altogether and they are mad, like super mad. I am one of those people who did not play star shine legazy, but i have played sso almost 4-5 years now, and even i think, this was a bad call on their behalf.
The only Dark Rider that I’m happy with is Katja. Tbh, I do like the new designs for all of them… but not as designs that are supposed to replace existing characters. If these designs were for entirely new characters then I’m sure they would’ve been received MUCH beter, but I don’t like the fact that the changes (or ‘upgrades’) were as drastic as changing canon names and straying veeeerry far away from the original design (looking at you, Stalker. Or Mortifa, whatever you are). It’s not that I don’t like the new designs, I actually quite like them (especially Katja and admittedly Mortifa) but knowing that these are supposed to be the ‘new’ Sabine, Katja and “Jessica” really doesn’t sit right with me. Heck, there’s now a continuity error with Jessica because in the CANON books her name is Jessica but now in the CANON game her name is Jay. SSO better have a VERY good plot point with her in upcoming story quests in order to properly justify/explain this drastic change. I suppose Chyio gets a bit of leeway because (correct me if I’m wrong) there was no official ‘original’ design for her to begin with and the Elise/Nihili names were also not really set in stone, so they had a bit of creative freedom for her (but that being said, I still didn’t expect her to look like an anime child, of all things). The originals had enough iconic designs to work with, all it needed was polish and minor upgrades to fit with sso’s current style. I, for one, really miss the cloaks and capes that the Dark Riders wore. They were so iconic and they made the Dark Riders, well, the *_Dark Riders_* :( In a nutshell, I’d love the new designs… IF they were for new characters and not building off of characters that already had a big establishment within the games and community.
Long Time ago, Ehen there wasnt any Winter village, Star stable had a wunderful quest in jarlheim. And they had all jorwik Coverd in Snow for around 2 months. Then they startet the Grafik update, and told the players There is no more Snow in jorwik because of klimer worming. After 1-2 years without any snow they put in the Winter village. Noe they updatet it, but they havent got. any Time to update the jorwik stable, in all those years? Sry for my englisch im from germany and my automatic correktion dosnt makes anything bettet. I just wanted to sag that i liked parts of the update. But sometimes i miss the sonwy jorwik
I have only been playing SSO for a year and a few months and the failing quality is very obvious in such a short amount of time. This makes me so sad as this game has so much potential. I own horses in real life and there is so much you can do with those beautiful animals as well as the animals being individuals that is not implemented into SSO. I was looking forward to the Christmas update as I had enjoyed it last year but was so disappointed. It’s not just old players that are feeling the bad practices by the higher ups. Newer players are feeling it too.

At this point, I’ve just started blocking out all this shit they’re doing. Because it isn’t worth fretting over anymore. SSO clearly doesn’t care, so why should we? I know that sounds awful. And we should care, because SSO is a one of a kind Game. I mean really, try finding another game that’s just like SSO. You can’t. It’s one of the best horse games on the market today. But, all good things come to an end. Especially after time takes it’s toll. SSO has been around for 10 years now. And that means it’s a ticking time bomb. Unfortunately, SSO will be the one to light their own fuse, not it’s player base. All we can really do now is just ride it out until it finally shatters. That will be a devastating day.

I am so upset with the dark riders. Sabine was so feminine, and now she is so masculine. I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but i hate it on her!! I really dislike that she looks so much different! All the dark riders :(
Honestly I'm at a breaking point with SSO. If the Dark Rider update is going to be as disappointing as they look like now, I'm siriously considering to permanently stop with this game. They don't care about us anyway.

I didn't exactly grow up with Star Stable or its lore, per say. I actually didn't know there was any lore as I was young and just wanted to look at pretty horses. But hearing that they changed the dark riders, whom I knew nothing about, still upsets me.. I remember that feeling, when someone revamps a beloved character into something.. unrecognizable. I felt the same way about Spirit - Riding Free. The whole point of Spirit is that he belongs with his herd, free. But like so many other characters, and now the Dark Riders too, Spirit has become a money making machine. They already revamped The Soul Riders and their horses! And they're still recognizable with the same names, so what's the issue in doing the same with the Dark Riders? It's frustrating..
I know that feeling. 😔 One of my comfort characters, rather not say who, was revamped into someone completely different. Like you said, it’s unrecognizable, and honestly it can be one of the worst pains you can feel, seeing something or someone you love change in such a drastic way that is completely unnecessary. And the sad thing is I’ve seen this stuff sprinkled around a lot of other franchises, not just SSO and Spirit. Although I don’t mind the new designs too much, I am quite confused about the name changes, but we shall see once they are dug into further. I do love this game, and although I am pretty patient with content and stuff, I sure am worried about the future of it so I completely understand everyone’s concerns. We just have to stick together, whether we have the same opinions or not, to make things better! 💕

I've had this idea for a while, but I really don't know if it'd be a good idea so I'm going to throw it out here and see if anybody thinks it'll work. Lol! Remember SSO Con? SSO listened to that - and even posted about it on their Instagram! What if we did something like that again, but instead showing them that we are unhappy with their game. It'd be like an in-game protest. We'd need tell them *exactly* what we want though. It'd be like the #NoStarCoin strike - which was a fab idea. Another idea I had was simply not playing the game, but I know that lots of people wouldn't agree to that and quite frankly SSO wouldn't care.
I hope that we'll get a plan after a stream. For now I personally don't buy anything and almost don't play 'cause it's at least easy for me for now. Also we can make hashtag in social medias
We should have known that they don't care about the story and continuity after the train wreck of a Mistfall series came out. I hated Mistfall cause they introduced characters that weren't in the game and had no places we could recognize, they even just forgot about Dundull. Now they are doing it to the books. They spend lots of money getting books published with the prequel story of SSO and now they don't care and have SSO be completely different. So now we are sitting with 3 different Star Stable universes... The books and early games universe, Mistfall series universe and the online game universe.

The thing I dislike the most however is how they massively changed everyone except Katja. Everyone else looks like a “normal” person could irl, while Katja sticks out like a good quest line in SSO.
Epic fight ? Where ? We CAN'T even fight in that game. I hoped that with the druidic circles we'd learn magic to fight but for some reason we don't do anything. And, no, SSO. Running like a freak with your horse and bump into the target isn't fighting.

When I saw the new dark riders i litterary started crying. I started playing at christmas 2020 so not even a year ago, but i still love old dark riders and cuz of new ones im not as interested in sso as i used to be 11months ago. So even "new" players don't like that and miss old dark riders alredy.

At this point I’m not considering Star Stable Online as part of the original story because of how much they’ve strayed away from the lore, how much they’ve tried to change it and confused players with the inconsistency. Honestly disappointing.
Rattle you just don't understand. It's not Christmas it's a ✨Winterfestival✨. And in this festival you don't get quests or gifts. In this festival you have to spend money for sso. As a gift for them. I mean what were you thinking. 🤨 On an other note: Completely agree on the dark riders. They didn't update them, they replaced them.
I really liked that the dark riders used to be a contrast to our main cast, 4 teens fighting for the dark side and 4 for the light, but now the dark riders just feel like a mess. Sabine looks like an adult, and based on the picture where she is holding Chiyo (?) And seemingly want to kill her, she does not seem like a very balanced or stable adult. It looks like really bad and childish comedy to me. I also dunno how to feel about Chiyo and her horse. None of them really feel like the dark riders anymore. I really wish they had continued on the same route as they did with Katja, she feels more mystical but not out of context for her old character. They had plenty chances to be creative with the original riders without needing to change everything in my opinion.
The new story changes are disappointing, to say the least. As someone who's up to-date with the main story quests, it worries me how all these character and lore changes will change the over-all story of the game. The SSO team is also most definitely going to have to go back and change the old main story quests, which I won't get to experience since I've already completed them. Even though I'm not fond of the new Dark Riders, I'd still like to get a chance to know them if I'm going to be stuck with them. It's quite unfortunate. They have so much potential in their game and they squander it for the short term, like you mentioned. Anyway, great video! I share a lot of your opinions about the Winter Village, too. Real dumb how they released an event area with nothing to do for the first week...
5:04 I legit thought that was a remake of Madison or something...it's just so bad. Also, I had finally gotten into the main story of the game and I couldn't help but notice all of the time-locked quests that needed 24 hours to start or pay with sc. I decided to pay the $0.99 for 80 sc....only, it wasn't that price anymore on their sso app. They had changed the price to about $2 for 40 sc now and $4.99 for 80sc. This is beyond ridiculous and I have no idea why people keep spending their money on this game when the prices are only getting higher. Even my friend who has never played SSO but wanted to give it a try said that the prices were too high for her with the sc and membership and in-game with the prices in shops. Someone who doesn't even know what SSO is about and was playing the first time can even see that this game is becoming a money grab. It's really appalling to know that with all the backlash SSO is getting they do not listen, but instead, raise the prices on everything and continue ignoring what we're trying to tell them. I would like to give my thoughts on this information being revealed with the "updates' coming next year. They made this announcement or something like this last year as well and we never got it. (This was around when I got back into SSO) I suspect that there won't be a character update for players or there will be and it will be rushed and poor quality just to keep people quiet. Also, All of the cutscenes and pictures I've taken on my main quest journey have been ruined by my yellow-skinned, poly graphic character being amongst normal-looking, human, characters. Why sso, just why-
I hate to be that person but they stopped caring a long, long time ago. SSO’s demographic is targeted at 5-8 year olds who are willing to spend their birthday/parents money on the new pretty clothes/horses. Hence why their whipping out new horses every 1-2 months, because it works. It would take a huge like 90% community effort to even get them to notice, so it’s a lost cause. Tbh we’re all just talking to a brick wall now so it’s best to just enjoy the miserable ride until SSO destroys itself
So I don’t understand one thing. They’ve said the took away the Santa clause because they don’t want it to be about Christmas, they just want a nice winter event. But then: 1. Why the Xmas tree? 2. Why the advent calendar? 3. Why the reindeers? 4. Why the xmas decorations? 5. Why those scary elves? 6. Why selling xmas related costumes? Everything is still about Christmas SSO? If it’s just gonna be a winter event then take all of it away.. Or just add the Santa it’s not like it’s worse or more bullying to the non Christians then the xmas tree? I don’t get it! And I don’t understand what they were thinking? They still have everything being about Christmas, so why take the best thing away?
Saint Nicholas is one of the saints of the Christian tradition, so he is closely related to Christmas. A Christmas tree, or even more so, elves are pagan.
If they wanted to be inclusive of other holidays they could’ve used the opportunity to teach others about their own traditions and other holidays during Christmas time such as Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc but literally the whole event still has Christmas things in the game under a different name to look like they’re not Christmas when it’s still very much christmasy. There’s even cartoons taking the opportunity to incorporate other holidays to show that there’s more traditions than just typical Christmas. Plus the village itself doesn’t feel warm and bright anymore, it just feels like I entered a funeral home that’s cold and dark. Even the tree looks dead with how it was decorated. It just mind boggles me how they were gonna throw in their own Jorvik versions of events yet we have Halloween and midsummer from the real world and even then they were lacking in the event department cause there wasn’t anything exciting. At this point events are just becoming shopping districts instead of fun activities, quests to do and actual content
I miss santa at the winter village. Doesn't feel like as much as christmas without him (even though he got removed even earlier)! Also, at first when I played the update I thought some quests had dissappeared because of a bug or something. But now I know, there wasn't much at all to begin with. 😅

Only Dark Rider that I like is Katja,the rest of them looks just werid to me,as a player who played this game for so many years. When I look at them I feel super weird.And the winter village...I don't even know what to say about it.They removed every fun thing from this place.I remeber when they add this for the first time,and everyone was so happy,there were quests,santa hats hidden in the snow,races and many more fun stuff.But now,it just an empty place where you go just to get a DAMN EX FROM CALENDER.
What I find absolutly INSANE is that sso straight up lied to us. They said the horse making team and quest making team were separate. They also teased the dark riders two years ago. TWO YEARS AGO.
It's clear to me at this point... they aren't making SSO for the players, theyre making the game for themselves. This is upsetting to see, but it also gives me hope that the fanbase can make more fitting content for the world that we created.
I wish I had the same level of frustration you and many other people have, but at the same time, I feel like I don't know the Dark Riders well enough to even care. It has been so many years since I've played a quest with the Dark Riders in them that I just forgot how any of them act and I just can't care. The updates to the main story are so few and far between, that it feels like there almost is no story at this point. As far as my memory is concerned, we've run around a lot, threw ourselves through a portal, waved our arms, ran around some more, got some girl out of a crystal who is not experiencing serious physical issues from not consuming anything nor has she aged in 10+ years, ran around some more, and now we're waiting at least two years to meet the Dark Riders. Oh, and for a squirrel to wake up from something that I totally forgot the cause of. That's it, that's the story. The story they claim to have worked on for 10+ years. The one they don't even know the end to. (They'll go out of business before there even is an end.) The one that's so inconsistent and spread out that I wouldn't even know it was a story if it weren't for the section under the Quests List that says "Main Quest" and for everyone talking about it on social media. Star Stable Online is not a story game. It is barely even a game. It is a virtual space that you can run around in and look at graphics that are subject to change at any time. If you want to look at more graphics that don't match each other and are subject to change at any time, you can pay $70 for it! If you want to run around on a different block of graphics to look around at the other graphics, you can spend $30+ to get enough of the currency to buy another one! And don't forget, those blocks of graphics are subject to change at any time without warning as well. And you won't get a refund if you're not happy. (Not even including the gameplay and SSO still sounds bad. Shocking! ...To absolutely no one.) Did I mention that their newly released blocks of graphics look horrible most of the time? I can't even find anything worth spending my star coins on, even when I WANT to. I can't bring myself to care about any "teasers" or "sneak peaks" or "concept art" SSO releases anywhere until they've posted it on their Instagram at least three times in a month. And then I'll lower my expectations a lot more. I'll set my reminder for 2025 and check back in on the progress for character update and the "Dark Riders". Maybe there'll be 5 new dialogues to click through by then. So what CAN we expect for 2022? New blocks of graphics that Star Stable Entertainment expects us to throw our money at, of course!
Under normal circumstances I'd always do events regardless of the work or effort because free tack (as in not paying my actual money) is something I like to collect especially if it has good stats. But this winter event is such a flop I can't even bring myself to care about collecting the wishes. Yes I appreciate the updated look of the village even if it is a bit dull but pretty looks and content are not the same thing.
I was in complete shock when sso started to ignore their player base. Now, I'm not even surprised it's happening AGAIN. I think the dark riders look great graphics-wise, but sso is unable to listen to us and instead ruin their game more. If they want to succeed, they should really listen and stop making the updates we don't want. What about our old long-time players who have seen this community grow larger and larger? what about the players that are level 19+? what about the players that don't want the game to die because they grew up with it? long-time players deserve better than this change and confusion, sso. listen.
Yeah..... this was the final no for me. Take my final screenshots of my herd and just wash my hands of Star Stable. Not sure if it was "Jay" (THERE WAS NO REASON TO REPLACE JESSICA), or Chiyo (what in the Disney Junior-) and her hobby horse "but its not like other hobby horses😱💅" but hey. I didn't know Starshine Legacy existed until playing SSO but the story made me want to go back and see whats up. Y'know, for the lore. Now its just a bittersweet memory. The "magical adventure" dried up into "buy coins, buy horse" perpetual cycle in a busted ass game with updated graphics just to gloss over said problems. -_- yet other Gen 1 horses have yet to be updated. *coughs* Selle Francais, for one. To say they hope to stick around for another 10 years is delusional. Ugh.

tbh I already abandoned the game. I first started for the stories, and while the waiting an entire day to continue was annoying as all hell it looekd forward to it. now it is just..eh
All my opinions are subjective but I’m sad how the updates are spread out for the winter village, it’s just a little lazy if I’m being honest, I also really miss the quests with helping all the little helpers around, it’s a huge part of my childhood. I’m terms of the dark riders i actually really like how they look, the only thing I would do differently if sabines hair is too long and pointed making it look like a rat tail… I feel bad for saying that but I don’t think you can really disagree with that. I’m really looking forward to seeing updated characters even though it’s taking an extremely long time I know it will be worth the wait. The dark riders do look very different for sure but that’s always what Sso does, think about James or Andy and how different their old and new characters look like.
I've already lost hope.. I wanted so badly to try SSO again now that I'm older with money but paying money would be waste just to be left with a storyline that goes nowhere by the time I climb the ranks.. and being bombarded with endless in-game purchases! I can assume that it removes the fun of having the membership, don't it? Equestrians,, Horse lovers don't have a ton of games to play.. it was nice when SSO was good and actually cared. I'm glad that others are creating better games when SSO fails us.. and i hope one day SSO will learn their lesson.. maybe get someone new in charge.
It seems like SSO is steering towards creating the game that they wish to create. However, that game is so different from the original games it's BASED on. The original games are very old, and the SSO-team might wish to expand the story and the world of Jorvik even further, but this creates a huge problem when that "expansion" involves changing the lore in a game that went live 10 years ago. I think it's only natural to be wanting to change the storyline after over 10 years if new people get involved and new ideas are brought to light, but honestly?... I think it's better if they just shut the entire game down and start over instead. That way, they can focus on creating a game the way they want it, without it being conencted to a storyline people expect to be followed, cause they clearly can't do that.
Thank you for being the voice of all of us players and raising awareness for these issues. I feel like its getting closer and closer to breaking point though as more and more players just completely give up on this game. Im like 98% there especially after seing these ridiculous "updated" *ahem* replaced dark riders.
personally I found that the dark riders were very poorly represented in the SSO, in the sense that they weren't represented at all. like, excluding the other games and the books, you had very little chances to find out who they hell they were and what they're like. (or maybe I've just forgotten all about them since the last quest with them was like 4 years ago.) and the fact that they're changing them veeery slowly and very uncoordinated-ly makes them a lot less intriguing and harder to keep up with. which is a shame because these characters, all 6 versions of them, look really damn cool if only we knew who they were. on a brighter note, I can't want to see what they do with Katja, because I do love me a character who ties music with their magic abilities :)

Rattle, I have like a huge thing i wanna share with you. My friend got her account banned after bringing up the Jorvik shilling bug. She has 2 accounts and wanted to get a little star coins for her other account. Suddanly, she could log into her "banned" account, after she bought Star Coins. We both think this is odd, maybe you could look into it? She also spoke their pockets in her responds to them, and we think when she bought star coins, they could see it was the same IP adrees and thought there was money in her??
halfway through the halloween event, i stopped playing. havent logged on at all for the winter village or anything, because at this point every wednesday i either find myself disappointed, bored, or mourning the loss of something i loved in the game. changes are good yes, but only when theyre thought out and executed with ANY degree of care, which sso no longer has any interest in doing. they are pumping out boring, messy, nonsensical content and the only thing im looking forward to in the future is watching them scramble to pick up the pieces of their own game. from a far, far distance.
Boring is the best description of the winter village this year. And what is with the yellow exclamation marks signifying 'quests' with no exp on offer? I go and race and then leave, that's it. The Advent Gifts are just silly, a single winter wish? Shaking my head.
Honestly I don’t even care anymore. I paid 64€ for a game that got me years of fun, that’s more than an average game. It sucks, yea but I’m done being mad about it, it’ll lead to nothing since there will always be new players sso can profit from, so why would they change something or do anything for the old players?
i like the new village look and the layout tho i must admit the houses look sad... the old village look with the lights on the tree that branch out use to bug the living days outta me and made me crash alot... it was just when i went near the tree it freak out... so i guess i can finally go in the village now... i am sorry for those that liked the tree lights that branched out... but for me with out it i can enjoy the game now if we can even call it that... just wondering was it just me who sufferd from the tree from last year and before or did others got yeeted out when they stepped near it tho it did stink that the village had nothing to do in there just buy our horses and new gear.... i miss snow in Jorvik and not this silly filter that it has today like the proper floor is white and the crunch noises... also the straw goats have gotten smarter this year... they found out how to leave the circle... NO ONE IS SAFE FROM THEM NOW!!! jokes aside it makes me sad on how much starstable don't listen to the players at all from customer support now to the story of the game its like the team at starstable is contently ramming their fingers in their ears while having a hissy fit when things don't go their way... it feels like that the people who running starstable are just stuffing their OCs in the main characters and villains and saying they updating them that is the most logical reason i can think of them changing them so much its because it isn't our characters its the developers OCs then starstable has the gall to act shocked then demands why no one like what they are doing and blame us saying: "we did what we think you would want..." but in fact all they did was do what they wanted by shoving their ideas even when it don't work... then with their "infinite wisdom" they decide instead looking at themselves to see whats the problem they just blame the players... i love starstable... but i wish starstable will start to listen soon and get their heads out their butt or game wont last long if this keeps going... look at World of Warcraft they got too far up their own butt they stopped listening to the players look what happen at shadowlands... sorry for the rant...
Was soooo dissapointed this year for the Winter Festival. Firstly wheres the advent calendar?! That was one of the things I was excited for and its not even there Winter village is so empty. And now there's a cap on how many Warm Wishes you can get in a day (Its 9 + whatever the races get you). You used to be able to stay on for 12 hours and get 3 new warm wishes every hour. I know they've done it this way just so you log in each day to get them. But each item in the store except the penguin and the bows are 25 Warm Wishes (They also added a halter). Which is a total of 275 Warm Wishes to "complete" the set, 305 if you include the bows. Its still another 80 for the pet. Even after constantly logging in each day and getting 9 wishes from the northern light things over the course of 3 hours. It only totals to 126. And if you add the 1 week we've had with the 2 races, its only 168 total. Thats with logging in each day for a minimum of 3 hours and doing the 2 races. (We're not counting gifted Warm wishes from the tree) I like a grind but this just makes it so not fun for me. As someone with ADHD I want to grind for 12 hours rather than logging in every day
For one I honestly love the new dark riders and think they NEEDED an update. Then again I have only just started sso, I love that every one has different opinions. P.S: Sso did awesome on the Marwari! (My opinion)
If y'all are interested in a up and coming horse game that actually listens to the community and interacts with them check our SWEM! It's a new minecraft equine mod and when i joined their server i litch forgot about SSO so fast. the blocky-ness took some warming up to but honestly the crazy amount of features they have planned and the way they care for and inform their community is so nice.. something i def miss about SSO.. i just can't deal with how SSO no longer listen to the playerbase and only think of money. you should check out their forums, it's closed beta right now but they're going to open it to youtubers in a few months i think. i love your content and i'd love to see a collab :DD
About jessica. So, sso is about sister hood. Anx the dark riders are meant to be the bad versions of the soul riders. All of the soul riders are women. So why is there jay?? Is there going to be a male soul rider going to replace us?? Are we going to become a dark rider? Is there gonna be male characters?? Sso is just ruining themselves. Ive played since 2012, and ever since that they got new management, theyve stepped down in their game and im not happy about it.
Star Stable isn't JUST disappointing. That word barely scratches the surface of things. They are absolutely disgusting because all they care about is getting fat with money and carelessness. We can make rant videos about them all we want, but the chances of them listening are low. Unless we actually try to grab a hold of their reins and drastically steer them in the right direction through force, they literally won't budge. The constant repetitions of their mistakes is enough evidence to prove that. I think we got closer to seeing change when the trending #'s happened all over their social media.
I always write in the comments on their Instagram ,that they could fix some Bugs and so the updates they promised, and it doesn't matter how many likes i got , they deleted my comments everytime , they can't handle our pleading and ideas and critics.. im playing this game 7-8 years already and im a Lifetime for a year now, but i regret it so Bad, im so bored there .. and they don't even care ..

don’t get me wrong, the characters aren’t bad and i love the style they went for. but i’m a long time player, i know and remember all the lore and storyline before they changed all of the charterers and their personality’s, sso is forgetting there whole story line and lore and turning it into a child’s play game. children wouldn’t be able to understand the lore, so is that the way their going-? sabine, turned into a motorbike rider, the child is just so weird, the other one is alright but why change the name? but i must admit katja is the best out of the bunch but it still doesn’t make sense to trash the whole storyline they’ve worked for years upon years to create. i’ve given up with the lore of the game and instead just create my own endgames in my head about what would happen if the original characters where in the game now, and honestly it’s allot more fun than wrapping my head around these new charterers.
With every update I continue to question why do I even play this game still :( But then I realise I spent money on it so I might aswell lmao. I think Jessica wasn't much older than soul riders. She is a Garnok's general, but she makes peretent to be a new student in Jorvik High school. Also she had a competition as a model with Anne at the same school. I can't remind if I've seen smth about her age in SSO
At this point I am not suprised. Just sad, I really loved the old dark riders, they were almost a perfect opposite to the soul riders.... And now... WHAT THE HELL?! That kid with a horse on wheels... Like I get it, maybe they like the fortnite style, maybe they wanted to include the hobby horsing community.... But still, there were so many better ways to do that, even just redesigning Madison like that. Doing a quest where nightdust has to go away with his herd and she gets a hobby horse to play with... This design would suit her tbh. But noooooo. I'm not even mad right now. Just heartbroken that the game I grew up with (quite literally, I started playing the CD games at 6 then came back to sso at 8 and then came back again at 11) is getting destroyed...
Honestly, I am very disapointed in the dark riders. They look completely different from what I grew up to. I want old SSO back. I want the SSO that cared about their player base, I want SSO that cared about the game content, not horses. man i've been saying this for sooooo long, i complained to everyone i came accross, especially as an artist myself, this hurts on a physical level. Starshine set Star Stable up with an incredibly unique and cool art style and character designs that popped. SSO just took it for granted and dumbed them down, and never managed to understand what made these character designs so special. i'm steaming with rage every time i see the soulrider redesigns, and my insides curl up in disgust, they ruined these characters BIG TIME.
I've been playing sso really unactively for the past 4 years, but now I uninstalled the game bc I literally never open the game so what's the point of having it take space from my computer?
I'm not even mad about the broken lore (though it is awful) i'm mad they wasted time making new characters instead of just updating the looks and animations.

Each time I think I can't be more disappointed, and each time they manage to surprise me... The new dark riders are just bland, all of them are the embodiment of "trends" ( I don't mean that the thing/concept itself is a trend, but that the subject is popular right now) : Chiyo is hobby horsing and unnatural hair color; Sabine is a butch and a rebel; Katja is the ethnic/shamanic side and has an electric violin ( Lindsey Stirling ?) and Jessica/Jay represents the non binary side with a gender neutral name and look, despite not being a non binary as they seem to use "she" for her. But none of them seem to really have a personality except being "evil". And that's sad, sad like when they totally forgot characters like Syntax which could be interesting but just stay here for nothing. It's even more frustrating as those characters and the story were starting really well, but they chose to not work on them and only being lazy.
I have a feeling SSO is thinking our position is just little kids, always taking the easy way when thinking about updates and other additions. It’s like they don’t even look our way and aren’t doing what is called “Democracy”. It’s a form of government where we all have a say on what bills/laws are passed and made into official ones. I have a feeling SSO should really try that. What they r only doing is basically making the food old times into new ones basically moving on and chucking all the old feelings where everything was perfect and calm, where as of now, I have no idea what to expect. If they could turn the SSO community into a democratic society where they listen to everyone’s suggestions to make the game better, everything would be perfect. I couldn’t believe they would change the old Sabine into a dark and mysterious character, looking absolutely terrifying, taking away the old and calm vibes we used to have. Also, one other thing is all NPCS have clothing options we aren’t allowed to have. I don’t think I clearly understand why they get carried away and get too far when creating NPCS , instead of focusing on the MAIN character. OUR character. The person who’s SUPPOSED to save JORVIK, but intentionally failed and the one who looks outdated as the new horses come. Still, I hope SSO changes this. Fingers crossed, Rattle!!
I don't play that game and I only know things about it from multiple videos that I watched becazse I am totally here for the drama. As someone who enjoys creating models for games and actually create mini games just for myself to enjoy as practice I can tell the dev of that game is taking their players and player base for granted. It kinda feels like the head of the game is in the mindset that the player owes the company some things. Thus rising prices for ingame items and all while disregarding potentially serious and dangerous bugs. I've heard of people logging into strangers accounts by accident which is a huge red flag and should've actually made the dev's shut down all servers to fix the problem.. But all I see so far is a team that doesn't care. They don't care for their players Their fans Their game. They care for the amount of profit they could gather with the least amount of costs putting into what could bring profit. A principle that will always fail. I've seen quite a few videos of that game and yes, the files are easy to be edited. There's no real protection and it's probably only a matter of time until IPs can be provided and people get DDos. Before anyone starts 'the game is secure' well no it isn't. I've barely ever seen a game with so many security issues as that one. But even if it was. Red dead redemption 2 had the issue that hackers could see a players IP. With the right mod you can follow a person from session to session until they quit out the game. You could DDos them, remove all items lke their money, items, weapons, horses. If a game that actually has some security had issues like that. Then a game like star stable that has bad customer service, lack in security and with that low-quality updates will die as soon as either something bad happens( like a mod like that) in said game which makes it dangerous to play and then have fun trying fix that. People will leave because of worry which had happened to quite a few games already. Or As soon as there's a new horse adventure game that one will die out very quickly. A game that gives the player some entertainment without constant hard grinding. A game that allows you to both enjoy the scenery but also grants you guests that are more than just racing and picking up trash or stone (as mentioned in previous videos of Rattle) to be fair im not up to date to what's standard in the game but from what I could see in my researches only horses get added and that's basically it. I think them fixating on a plot like that so much that it's going towards gatekeeping is also off putting for many from what I could see. There won't be male characters which sends in my opinion a wrong signal. As wrong as it would be to play a game that has male characters only. Which if you look at great games isn't the case. Assassins creed Destiny 2 Dragon age Stardew Valley And so on and on You can decide if you want to be female or male and it does NO damage to the story line. I think having a brother or a sister look for their sister makes absolutely no difference. I did hear the plot is about the love between two sisters? (correct me if I'm wrong) Why not a brother and his sister. Or You know The love between siblings??? The game is making a lot of money. In their very special way... But still it's making money. It's hard to believe that they can't work out guests or add on the story line. It's just laziness that prevents it, and not wanting to put in too much money but want money in return... Thus buffing up the prices for everything from waht I saw. It's sad. It's just sad to see a game fail like that.
I like how you said that when the customers are upset star stable couldn't care less but if shareholders are upset star stable is upset (u said in one of your videos I don't know if it was this one) so if sso wont listen to us. get the shareholders attention about what's happening then they will be upset, star stable will be upset because the shareholders are upset then they will try and fix the game. pls like so she can try and put this idea into action

I love how all three of us are having different takes on this. (My video will go up tomorrow, I have to edit it.) And um, you said in the video that they are doing things to please them instead of the playerbase, and I really DO think this is true because of what Yvla said in her instagram story that went UP with this blog post to promote it. (Which they should have pinned but didn't.) They are having so much fun creating, I don't want to call it a game, but ART for THEM, they are totally disregarding how the community feels about the lore, and the look of the game. I'm only around and keeping it on my computer to get content for future videos. That's it. Or else, I'd be deleting it. And I'm sitting here going, "Do we need to rewrite this as fanfic or make it an IP buyout?" It's so SAD. (And I'm emotionally exhausted, so that doesn't help my cynicism.)

Katja is the only one that’s the saving grace of if there’s any dark rider that turned out fine and still recognizable besides the sudden change to a horse named mortifa (but does look like a bad ass) sending stalker to somewhere else and questionable on the violin bit, but I hope they don’t destroy her character background. Everyone else dear god. Sabine’s hair looks like licorice with her fortnite x Abby from last of us part 2 not even close to the bratty rich equestrian we’ve known for over 10 years. Jessica I don’t understand why the sudden change to Jay and then now going from a model trying to compete with Anne to a waiter wannabe older version of Jlo and regardless she will be known as Jessica because of the books and the starshine legacy games cause it looks like sso tried to fire Jessica. Choiyo is the most underwhelming because how can you build up a dark rider that’s supposed to be mysterious and try to beat the shit out of you and you end up with an annoying looking girl you could fight in Pokémon in every color of the rainbow with a hobby horse that’s supposed to be “everything is not like it seems” when it looks like sso not even knowing their story is not what it seems.What got me into sso wasn’t just horses being my favorite animal, but I loved their story. When the new wildwoods quest came out it felt like I was reading the dialogue of toddlers fighting each other with so many damn obvious points on who it was that destroyed their Rubix Pandoria cube. Even saving fripp was underwhelming because of how it just felt like another Druid mission in terms of previous mechanics from stuff we’ve done with running point a to be and not really being involved with the soul riders.
On top of that for the people saying it’s like James or Andy the thing is James and Andy were still recognizable and stayed true to their character. James was still a scamming entrepreneur kid and Andy was still someone trying to get their sheep. The dark riders are people that most of the player base have known for years longer than Andy and James could ever imagine. People are upset because now the lore is as messy as trying to connect the dots in a horror game. They went from screaming rude badassss that you want to defeat to wannabe ripoffs and underwhelming choices. I’m not gonna be surprised if the quests are gonna be messy cause idk how I’m gonna be fine with the damn lore at this rate. I hope they see that this is a huge ass no no and they need to look at how this will affect them long term because imagine if some big mmo UA-cam tried to make sense of the lore or play this game. It’s already going down hill but it could potential start to go down at rocketing speed without even knowing it.
SSO is basically what *not* to do if you want to have a successful game with an active player base what was once so promising and exciting to explore has been torn apart by greed

Star Stable doesn't know their own characters, and the new Dark Riders have shown that there's nobody working on the quests or following the lore at all at this point. Helena is screaming in the background there with her books that just became unrelevant to the story 💔
I just wish Star Stable would focus on the game's content instead of cosmetics (horses), it's overwhelming.
And honestly? The character update was meant to be released this year, and all they've done is concept art? Bruh. That shows that their focus isn't on major things anymore. Only minor, nothing updates, matter now.
The new Wildwoods quests? Very questionable, the dialogue got me cringing there. SSO hyped it up with Star Rider offers, saying how it's SOOO important and how the stakes are EXTREEMELY high. We didn't even do anything in these quests, and they tried appealing to new players and their parents to buy Star Rider, saying time and time again that it's so important. Bruh...
If I could, I would just revert back to 2016, before the MyStable update, and then I could maybe get some fun from the game.
i completely agree. can i also add that their only announcements for 2022 were updated dark riders and updated characters, which, correct me if i’m wrong, were also a part of the last year’s announcement? no mention of updating training system and championships - which we’ve been promised for years, no mention of anything promising. they can’t even dare to promise anything at this point lmao because they’ve realized we don’t have the memory of a goldfish. also? we’ve only got concept art of the updated characters and they’re still in the process of answering all of the questions that should’ve been answered a while ago if they were truly planning on releasing these this year. i honestly don’t believe they’ve been working on our characters as much as they claim they did.

YES. The concept art is outreagous. Not only we got some laughable quality, but also it's JUST concept art. No prerender, no model, no nothing. Just "we can paint in 2 weeks" and nothing valuable.
It's not just with the Dark Riders! They've completely changed the fact that we're supposed to be Aideen as well. Like, that has been the base story since the beginning and now it's "everyone makes their own destiny" it's like...that concept is all fine and dandy but that has never been the story of the game. I've talked about this a bunch and I'm tbh tired of speaking on this. They don't care, they'll do strictly what they want and that's it
Honestly, I wouldn't really care all that much, since we all already know how shitty they are with their reference material, if not for the HUGE story change. Elise (or Nihili, if you will) was such a great opportunity to do something interesting with the main quest, but instead they decided to make an entire new (probably really shallow and boring) character instead. Also, instead of the whole 'Jessica is now jay' thing, they could have made her (jay) Elise, and I'm 100% sure a significant portion of the player base would be satisfied with that. I love her design, but I could say the same about the Jessica I grew up with. This whole situation feels like a fever dream.

Yep! The backlash is quite intense. I'm actually a little surprised, usually it's a bit more contained. But the players are just so done, it's just one dumb change after another, plus broken updates. The new dark riders look like completely different characters from completely different games, they have no vibe together at all. So I'm curious as to how their group dynamic will work. But let's be real, the first time we will even get to have a 5 minute dark rider quest will be in like 3 years.
Even on the showcase art only 2 of the characters interacted. Though i can see this implemented in the story as they don't get along well in contrast to the Soul riders close friendship.

Yay a rant finally! I have been waiting for this long time! Okay, so... We can start from the winter village. Not only is it glitchy (you also figured out the one glitch i got and i lost the race, lol), but it is also empty and even though they updated the trees a little bit better, it looks blank and deserted because of the new layout. When i lost the race i simply wanted to send sso a rant mail, but then i remembered they don't read them UwU. Not to mention the glitches and bugs in the halloween event...
Sso simply don't care about the old players and not even the remotadly new ones either. This is all a game for them, who can make the most money out of a year. I am no way in hell blaming the people who work there for their money so they can survive, i am blaming the CEO, share holders and upper guys, whoever and however you wish to call them. They are the reason why this game is dying on it's tracks faster than you can say "monkey ate a banana in a tree."
I personally believe that if children/their parents saw rattles and other content creators videos about sso, they would not buy /install this game in to their child's computer. I am not kidding, if i was a mom (which i am, but not for those nasty ugly ass- things that come out of you, but a fur baby mother :3), i would not buy/install sso on their computer, not buy lifetime or star coins, because i know that ones this child would reach the level 22, they would have nothing else to do in the game and sso would simply stop caring and screw them over. Instead of sso saying "this is a magical horse game full of life an adventure" their slogan should be "We only make horses to get money and stop giving shit about you, when we have your money". Summs it up to me at least. Sso also does not listen to us when we try to tell them something, more on this later. I do believe that some of the gen 2 horses are better than gen 3 horses. There i said it. The gen 2 horses are better than the gen 3 horses. And here is why:
1. Updating horses that don't need it
- This is self explanatori, but i will sum it up. Sso said that they would SLOWLY update the old models to nowadays graphics. Fair enough i see where they are going with this, HOWEVER it did not mean you would take a perfectly fine horse such as arabian or icelantic and re model them. We as a community thought you would re model say the Oldenburk. You know that sad horse on the horse market no one wants to buy because it's "old model".
2. The generation 3 friesan.
- ...I- Do i even need to...? Okay... *sigh* I was in a club where the owner of the club owned an irl friesan horse. She was very proud of her horse and this horse was called (it probably is still, hope it's not dead D: ) "Black death". She loved this horse and she was excited about the gen 3 friesans as were all of us. Sso even asked us feedback on the horse and community answered excitedly, hoping that sso would listen them. And 2 months later, the friesan came and it destroyed our hopes and dreams and some of us rage a lot over it. Sso paid no heed to what the community said, instead they brought the horse out as it was presented to us in the grey scale. Way to f go sso... You are now wondering what does this has to do with my club and the owner? Well haha funny story. She ended up fuming over the edge, sending sso the biggest most awful email, she could ever write on her great mind, because sso completyle ruined her favorite breed/horse. It ended up becoming so bad that she stated "no one in this club is allowed to buy that horse or you will be kicked out." And some of you might be like "haha her club died" but no, it did not, because the whole club agreed that this was the most disgusting thing sso had brought to the game, lol. The owner soon after quit sso and i sometimes hear from her, her horse ended up having a mare friend and they had a foal. Nice ending for them :)
I could go on about this, but i shall end it with this one. As you said sso realised a sneak peek of the new dark riders. I say it again and read it carefully. The. New. Dark. Riders. Now read that, hold that thought and now explore it. Sso simply gave us and the older players the middle finger on this one. They pretty much said "f the lore, we don't give a shit" and gave us, buffed sabine, a little girl with a wooden horse and a guy(?) character, even though they refuse to bring male characters as an option to the games and then Katja, (katja gets a one train ticket to the safe land, because she was the only one, old players approved, so yay to her :) ). However, sabine, the snoppy, rich ass, the "perfect" dressage queen was now transformed into uh... A motorcycle rider...? What the actual F? This is what set up the flames up in the old community altogether and they are mad, like super mad. I am one of those people who did not play star shine legazy, but i have played sso almost 4-5 years now, and even i think, this was a bad call on their behalf.
The only Dark Rider that I’m happy with is Katja.
Tbh, I do like the new designs for all of them… but not as designs that are supposed to replace existing characters. If these designs were for entirely new characters then I’m sure they would’ve been received MUCH beter, but I don’t like the fact that the changes (or ‘upgrades’) were as drastic as changing canon names and straying veeeerry far away from the original design (looking at you, Stalker. Or Mortifa, whatever you are). It’s not that I don’t like the new designs, I actually quite like them (especially Katja and admittedly Mortifa) but knowing that these are supposed to be the ‘new’ Sabine, Katja and “Jessica” really doesn’t sit right with me. Heck, there’s now a continuity error with Jessica because in the CANON books her name is Jessica but now in the CANON game her name is Jay. SSO better have a VERY good plot point with her in upcoming story quests in order to properly justify/explain this drastic change. I suppose Chyio gets a bit of leeway because (correct me if I’m wrong) there was no official ‘original’ design for her to begin with and the Elise/Nihili names were also not really set in stone, so they had a bit of creative freedom for her (but that being said, I still didn’t expect her to look like an anime child, of all things). The originals had enough iconic designs to work with, all it needed was polish and minor upgrades to fit with sso’s current style. I, for one, really miss the cloaks and capes that the Dark Riders wore. They were so iconic and they made the Dark Riders, well, the *_Dark Riders_* :(
In a nutshell, I’d love the new designs… IF they were for new characters and not building off of characters that already had a big establishment within the games and community.

Long Time ago, Ehen there wasnt any Winter village, Star stable had a wunderful quest in jarlheim. And they had all jorwik Coverd in Snow for around 2 months. Then they startet the Grafik update, and told the players There is no more Snow in jorwik because of klimer worming. After 1-2 years without any snow they put in the Winter village. Noe they updatet it, but they havent got. any Time to update the jorwik stable, in all those years?

I have only been playing SSO for a year and a few months and the failing quality is very obvious in such a short amount of time. This makes me so sad as this game has so much potential. I own horses in real life and there is so much you can do with those beautiful animals as well as the animals being individuals that is not implemented into SSO. I was looking forward to the Christmas update as I had enjoyed it last year but was so disappointed. It’s not just old players that are feeling the bad practices by the higher ups. Newer players are feeling it too.

At this point, I’ve just started blocking out all this shit they’re doing. Because it isn’t worth fretting over anymore. SSO clearly doesn’t care, so why should we? I know that sounds awful. And we should care, because SSO is a one of a kind Game. I mean really, try finding another game that’s just like SSO. You can’t. It’s one of the best horse games on the market today.
But, all good things come to an end. Especially after time takes it’s toll. SSO has been around for 10 years now. And that means it’s a ticking time bomb. Unfortunately, SSO will be the one to light their own fuse, not it’s player base. All we can really do now is just ride it out until it finally shatters. That will be a devastating day.

I didn't exactly grow up with Star Stable or its lore, per say. I actually didn't know there was any lore as I was young and just wanted to look at pretty horses. But hearing that they changed the dark riders, whom I knew nothing about, still upsets me.. I remember that feeling, when someone revamps a beloved character into something.. unrecognizable. I felt the same way about Spirit - Riding Free. The whole point of Spirit is that he belongs with his herd, free. But like so many other characters, and now the Dark Riders too, Spirit has become a money making machine.
They already revamped The Soul Riders and their horses! And they're still recognizable with the same names, so what's the issue in doing the same with the Dark Riders? It's frustrating..

One of my comfort characters, rather not say who, was revamped into someone completely different. Like you said, it’s unrecognizable, and honestly it can be one of the worst pains you can feel, seeing something or someone you love change in such a drastic way that is completely unnecessary. And the sad thing is I’ve seen this stuff sprinkled around a lot of other franchises, not just SSO and Spirit.
Although I don’t mind the new designs too much, I am quite confused about the name changes, but we shall see once they are dug into further.
I do love this game, and although I am pretty patient with content and stuff, I sure am worried about the future of it so I completely understand everyone’s concerns.
We just have to stick together, whether we have the same opinions or not, to make things better! 💕

Remember SSO Con? SSO listened to that - and even posted about it on their Instagram! What if we did something like that again, but instead showing them that we are unhappy with their game. It'd be like an in-game protest. We'd need tell them *exactly* what we want though.
It'd be like the #NoStarCoin strike - which was a fab idea. Another idea I had was simply not playing the game, but I know that lots of people wouldn't agree to that and quite frankly SSO wouldn't care.

We should have known that they don't care about the story and continuity after the train wreck of a Mistfall series came out. I hated Mistfall cause they introduced characters that weren't in the game and had no places we could recognize, they even just forgot about Dundull. Now they are doing it to the books. They spend lots of money getting books published with the prequel story of SSO and now they don't care and have SSO be completely different. So now we are sitting with 3 different Star Stable universes... The books and early games universe, Mistfall series universe and the online game universe.

The thing I dislike the most however is how they massively changed everyone except Katja. Everyone else looks like a “normal” person could irl, while Katja sticks out like a good quest line in SSO.
Epic fight ? Where ? We CAN'T even fight in that game. I hoped that with the druidic circles we'd learn magic to fight but for some reason we don't do anything. And, no, SSO. Running like a freak with your horse and bump into the target isn't fighting.

I started playing at christmas 2020 so not even a year ago, but i still love old dark riders and cuz of new ones im not as interested in sso as i used to be 11months ago. So even "new" players don't like that and miss old dark riders alredy.

At this point I’m not considering Star Stable Online as part of the original story because of how much they’ve strayed away from the lore, how much they’ve tried to change it and confused players with the inconsistency. Honestly disappointing.
Rattle you just don't understand. It's not Christmas it's a ✨Winterfestival✨. And in this festival you don't get quests or gifts. In this festival you have to spend money for sso. As a gift for them. I mean what were you thinking. 🤨 On an other note: Completely agree on the dark riders. They didn't update them, they replaced them.
I really liked that the dark riders used to be a contrast to our main cast, 4 teens fighting for the dark side and 4 for the light, but now the dark riders just feel like a mess.
Sabine looks like an adult, and based on the picture where she is holding Chiyo (?) And seemingly want to kill her, she does not seem like a very balanced or stable adult. It looks like really bad and childish comedy to me. I also dunno how to feel about Chiyo and her horse.
None of them really feel like the dark riders anymore. I really wish they had continued on the same route as they did with Katja, she feels more mystical but not out of context for her old character. They had plenty chances to be creative with the original riders without needing to change everything in my opinion.
The new story changes are disappointing, to say the least. As someone who's up to-date with the main story quests, it worries me how all these character and lore changes will change the over-all story of the game. The SSO team is also most definitely going to have to go back and change the old main story quests, which I won't get to experience since I've already completed them. Even though I'm not fond of the new Dark Riders, I'd still like to get a chance to know them if I'm going to be stuck with them.
It's quite unfortunate. They have so much potential in their game and they squander it for the short term, like you mentioned.

5:04 I legit thought that was a remake of Madison or something...it's just so bad. Also, I had finally gotten into the main story of the game and I couldn't help but notice all of the time-locked quests that needed 24 hours to start or pay with sc. I decided to pay the $0.99 for 80 sc....only, it wasn't that price anymore on their sso app. They had changed the price to about $2 for 40 sc now and $4.99 for 80sc. This is beyond ridiculous and I have no idea why people keep spending their money on this game when the prices are only getting higher.
Even my friend who has never played SSO but wanted to give it a try said that the prices were too high for her with the sc and membership and in-game with the prices in shops. Someone who doesn't even know what SSO is about and was playing the first time can even see that this game is becoming a money grab. It's really appalling to know that with all the backlash SSO is getting they do not listen, but instead, raise the prices on everything and continue ignoring what we're trying to tell them.
I would like to give my thoughts on this information being revealed with the "updates' coming next year. They made this announcement or something like this last year as well and we never got it. (This was around when I got back into SSO) I suspect that there won't be a character update for players or there will be and it will be rushed and poor quality just to keep people quiet.
Also, All of the cutscenes and pictures I've taken on my main quest journey have been ruined by my yellow-skinned, poly graphic character being amongst normal-looking, human, characters. Why sso, just why-
I hate to be that person but they stopped caring a long, long time ago. SSO’s demographic is targeted at 5-8 year olds who are willing to spend their birthday/parents money on the new pretty clothes/horses. Hence why their whipping out new horses every 1-2 months, because it works.
It would take a huge like 90% community effort to even get them to notice, so it’s a lost cause. Tbh we’re all just talking to a brick wall now so it’s best to just enjoy the miserable ride until SSO destroys itself

Saint Nicholas is one of the saints of the Christian tradition, so he is closely related to Christmas. A Christmas tree, or even more so, elves are pagan.
If they wanted to be inclusive of other holidays they could’ve used the opportunity to teach others about their own traditions and other holidays during Christmas time such as Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc but literally the whole event still has Christmas things in the game under a different name to look like they’re not Christmas when it’s still very much christmasy. There’s even cartoons taking the opportunity to incorporate other holidays to show that there’s more traditions than just typical Christmas. Plus the village itself doesn’t feel warm and bright anymore, it just feels like I entered a funeral home that’s cold and dark. Even the tree looks dead with how it was decorated. It just mind boggles me how they were gonna throw in their own Jorvik versions of events yet we have Halloween and midsummer from the real world and even then they were lacking in the event department cause there wasn’t anything exciting. At this point events are just becoming shopping districts instead of fun activities, quests to do and actual content
I miss santa at the winter village. Doesn't feel like as much as christmas without him (even though he got removed even earlier)! Also, at first when I played the update I thought some quests had dissappeared because of a bug or something. But now I know, there wasn't much at all to begin with. 😅

Only Dark Rider that I like is Katja,the rest of them looks just werid to me,as a player who played this game for so many years. When I look at them I feel super weird.And the winter village...I don't even know what to say about it.They removed every fun thing from this place.I remeber when they add this for the first time,and everyone was so happy,there were quests,santa hats hidden in the snow,races and many more fun stuff.But now,it just an empty place where you go just to get a DAMN EX FROM CALENDER.
What I find absolutly INSANE is that sso straight up lied to us. They said the horse making team and quest making team were separate. They also teased the dark riders two years ago. TWO YEARS AGO.
It's clear to me at this point... they aren't making SSO for the players, theyre making the game for themselves. This is upsetting to see, but it also gives me hope that the fanbase can make more fitting content for the world that we created.
I wish I had the same level of frustration you and many other people have, but at the same time, I feel like I don't know the Dark Riders well enough to even care. It has been so many years since I've played a quest with the Dark Riders in them that I just forgot how any of them act and I just can't care. The updates to the main story are so few and far between, that it feels like there almost is no story at this point.
As far as my memory is concerned, we've run around a lot, threw ourselves through a portal, waved our arms, ran around some more, got some girl out of a crystal who is not experiencing serious physical issues from not consuming anything nor has she aged in 10+ years, ran around some more, and now we're waiting at least two years to meet the Dark Riders. Oh, and for a squirrel to wake up from something that I totally forgot the cause of. That's it, that's the story. The story they claim to have worked on for 10+ years. The one they don't even know the end to. (They'll go out of business before there even is an end.) The one that's so inconsistent and spread out that I wouldn't even know it was a story if it weren't for the section under the Quests List that says "Main Quest" and for everyone talking about it on social media.
Star Stable Online is not a story game. It is barely even a game. It is a virtual space that you can run around in and look at graphics that are subject to change at any time. If you want to look at more graphics that don't match each other and are subject to change at any time, you can pay $70 for it! If you want to run around on a different block of graphics to look around at the other graphics, you can spend $30+ to get enough of the currency to buy another one! And don't forget, those blocks of graphics are subject to change at any time without warning as well. And you won't get a refund if you're not happy. (Not even including the gameplay and SSO still sounds bad. Shocking! ...To absolutely no one.)
Did I mention that their newly released blocks of graphics look horrible most of the time? I can't even find anything worth spending my star coins on, even when I WANT to.
I can't bring myself to care about any "teasers" or "sneak peaks" or "concept art" SSO releases anywhere until they've posted it on their Instagram at least three times in a month. And then I'll lower my expectations a lot more. I'll set my reminder for 2025 and check back in on the progress for character update and the "Dark Riders". Maybe there'll be 5 new dialogues to click through by then.
So what CAN we expect for 2022? New blocks of graphics that Star Stable Entertainment expects us to throw our money at, of course!
Under normal circumstances I'd always do events regardless of the work or effort because free tack (as in not paying my actual money) is something I like to collect especially if it has good stats. But this winter event is such a flop I can't even bring myself to care about collecting the wishes. Yes I appreciate the updated look of the village even if it is a bit dull but pretty looks and content are not the same thing.
I was in complete shock when sso started to ignore their player base. Now, I'm not even surprised it's happening AGAIN. I think the dark riders look great graphics-wise, but sso is unable to listen to us and instead ruin their game more. If they want to succeed, they should really listen and stop making the updates we don't want. What about our old long-time players who have seen this community grow larger and larger? what about the players that are level 19+? what about the players that don't want the game to die because they grew up with it? long-time players deserve better than this change and confusion, sso. listen.
Yeah..... this was the final no for me. Take my final screenshots of my herd and just wash my hands of Star Stable. Not sure if it was "Jay" (THERE WAS NO REASON TO REPLACE JESSICA), or Chiyo (what in the Disney Junior-) and her hobby horse "but its not like other hobby horses😱💅" but hey. I didn't know Starshine Legacy existed until playing SSO but the story made me want to go back and see whats up. Y'know, for the lore. Now its just a bittersweet memory. The "magical adventure" dried up into "buy coins, buy horse" perpetual cycle in a busted ass game with updated graphics just to gloss over said problems. -_- yet other Gen 1 horses have yet to be updated. *coughs* Selle Francais, for one. To say they hope to stick around for another 10 years is delusional. Ugh.

All my opinions are subjective but I’m sad how the updates are spread out for the winter village, it’s just a little lazy if I’m being honest, I also really miss the quests with helping all the little helpers around, it’s a huge part of my childhood. I’m terms of the dark riders i actually really like how they look, the only thing I would do differently if sabines hair is too long and pointed making it look like a rat tail… I feel bad for saying that but I don’t think you can really disagree with that. I’m really looking forward to seeing updated characters even though it’s taking an extremely long time I know it will be worth the wait.
The dark riders do look very different for sure but that’s always what Sso does, think about James or Andy and how different their old and new characters look like.

I've already lost hope.. I wanted so badly to try SSO again now that I'm older with money but paying money would be waste just to be left with a storyline that goes nowhere by the time I climb the ranks.. and being bombarded with endless in-game purchases! I can assume that it removes the fun of having the membership, don't it?
Equestrians,, Horse lovers don't have a ton of games to play.. it was nice when SSO was good and actually cared.
I'm glad that others are creating better games when SSO fails us.. and i hope one day SSO will learn their lesson.. maybe get someone new in charge.
It seems like SSO is steering towards creating the game that they wish to create. However, that game is so different from the original games it's BASED on. The original games are very old, and the SSO-team might wish to expand the story and the world of Jorvik even further, but this creates a huge problem when that "expansion" involves changing the lore in a game that went live 10 years ago. I think it's only natural to be wanting to change the storyline after over 10 years if new people get involved and new ideas are brought to light, but honestly?... I think it's better if they just shut the entire game down and start over instead. That way, they can focus on creating a game the way they want it, without it being conencted to a storyline people expect to be followed, cause they clearly can't do that.
Thank you for being the voice of all of us players and raising awareness for these issues. I feel like its getting closer and closer to breaking point though as more and more players just completely give up on this game. Im like 98% there especially after seing these ridiculous "updated" *ahem* replaced dark riders.
I've been playing since 2012 and omg do I hate the game now...
personally I found that the dark riders were very poorly represented in the SSO, in the sense that they weren't represented at all. like, excluding the other games and the books, you had very little chances to find out who they hell they were and what they're like. (or maybe I've just forgotten all about them since the last quest with them was like 4 years ago.) and the fact that they're changing them veeery slowly and very uncoordinated-ly makes them a lot less intriguing and harder to keep up with. which is a shame because these characters, all 6 versions of them, look really damn cool if only we knew who they were.
on a brighter note, I can't want to see what they do with Katja, because I do love me a character who ties music with their magic abilities :)

My friend got her account banned after bringing up the Jorvik shilling bug. She has 2 accounts and wanted to get a little star coins for her other account.
Suddanly, she could log into her "banned" account, after she bought Star Coins. We both think this is odd, maybe you could look into it?
She also spoke their pockets in her responds to them, and we think when she bought star coins, they could see it was the same IP adrees and thought there was money in her??

halfway through the halloween event, i stopped playing. havent logged on at all for the winter village or anything, because at this point every wednesday i either find myself disappointed, bored, or mourning the loss of something i loved in the game. changes are good yes, but only when theyre thought out and executed with ANY degree of care, which sso no longer has any interest in doing. they are pumping out boring, messy, nonsensical content and the only thing im looking forward to in the future is watching them scramble to pick up the pieces of their own game. from a far, far distance.

Boring is the best description of the winter village this year. And what is with the yellow exclamation marks signifying 'quests' with no exp on offer? I go and race and then leave, that's it. The Advent Gifts are just silly, a single winter wish? Shaking my head.
Honestly I don’t even care anymore. I paid 64€ for a game that got me years of fun, that’s more than an average game. It sucks, yea but I’m done being mad about it, it’ll lead to nothing since there will always be new players sso can profit from, so why would they change something or do anything for the old players?

it feels like that the people who running starstable are just stuffing their OCs in the main characters and villains and saying they updating them

Was soooo dissapointed this year for the Winter Festival. Firstly wheres the advent calendar?! That was one of the things I was excited for and its not even there
Winter village is so empty.
And now there's a cap on how many Warm Wishes you can get in a day (Its 9 + whatever the races get you).
You used to be able to stay on for 12 hours and get 3 new warm wishes every hour. I know they've done it this way just so you log in each day to get them.
But each item in the store except the penguin and the bows are 25 Warm Wishes (They also added a halter).
Which is a total of 275 Warm Wishes to "complete" the set, 305 if you include the bows. Its still another 80 for the pet.
Even after constantly logging in each day and getting 9 wishes from the northern light things over the course of 3 hours.
It only totals to 126. And if you add the 1 week we've had with the 2 races, its only 168 total. Thats with logging in each day for a minimum of 3 hours and doing the 2 races. (We're not counting gifted Warm wishes from the tree)
I like a grind but this just makes it so not fun for me. As someone with ADHD I want to grind for 12 hours rather than logging in every day
For one I honestly love the new dark riders and think they NEEDED an update. Then again I have only just started sso, I love that every one has different opinions. P.S: Sso did awesome on the Marwari! (My opinion)

If y'all are interested in a up and coming horse game that actually listens to the community and interacts with them check our SWEM! It's a new minecraft equine mod and when i joined their server i litch forgot about SSO so fast. the blocky-ness took some warming up to but honestly the crazy amount of features they have planned and the way they care for and inform their community is so nice.. something i def miss about SSO.. i just can't deal with how SSO no longer listen to the playerbase and only think of money. you should check out their forums, it's closed beta right now but they're going to open it to youtubers in a few months i think. i love your content and i'd love to see a collab :DD

So, sso is about sister hood. Anx the dark riders are meant to be the bad versions of the soul riders. All of the soul riders are women. So why is there jay?? Is there going to be a male soul rider going to replace us?? Are we going to become a dark rider? Is there gonna be male characters?? Sso is just ruining themselves. Ive played since 2012, and ever since that they got new management, theyve stepped down in their game and im not happy about it.
Star Stable isn't JUST disappointing. That word barely scratches the surface of things. They are absolutely disgusting because all they care about is getting fat with money and carelessness. We can make rant videos about them all we want, but the chances of them listening are low. Unless we actually try to grab a hold of their reins and drastically steer them in the right direction through force, they literally won't budge. The constant repetitions of their mistakes is enough evidence to prove that. I think we got closer to seeing change when the trending #'s happened all over their social media.
I always write in the comments on their Instagram ,that they could fix some Bugs and so the updates they promised, and it doesn't matter how many likes i got , they deleted my comments everytime , they can't handle our pleading and ideas and critics.. im playing this game 7-8 years already and im a Lifetime for a year now, but i regret it so Bad, im so bored there .. and they don't even care ..

don’t get me wrong, the characters aren’t bad and i love the style they went for. but i’m a long time player, i know and remember all the lore and storyline before they changed all of the charterers and their personality’s, sso is forgetting there whole story line and lore and turning it into a child’s play game. children wouldn’t be able to understand the lore, so is that the way their going-? sabine, turned into a motorbike rider, the child is just so weird, the other one is alright but why change the name? but i must admit katja is the best out of the bunch but it still doesn’t make sense to trash the whole storyline they’ve worked for years upon years to create. i’ve given up with the lore of the game and instead just create my own endgames in my head about what would happen if the original characters where in the game now, and honestly it’s allot more fun than wrapping my head around these new charterers.

chiyo and jay should be new characters. and there's a really easy fix for it too: just write jessica and elise out of the story in some way and have jay and chiyo as their replacements.

I think Jessica wasn't much older than soul riders. She is a Garnok's general, but she makes peretent to be a new student in Jorvik High school. Also she had a competition as a model with Anne at the same school. I can't remind if I've seen smth about her age in SSO
At this point I am not suprised. Just sad, I really loved the old dark riders, they were almost a perfect opposite to the soul riders.... And now... WHAT THE HELL?! That kid with a horse on wheels... Like I get it, maybe they like the fortnite style, maybe they wanted to include the hobby horsing community.... But still, there were so many better ways to do that, even just redesigning Madison like that. Doing a quest where nightdust has to go away with his herd and she gets a hobby horse to play with... This design would suit her tbh. But noooooo. I'm not even mad right now. Just heartbroken that the game I grew up with (quite literally, I started playing the CD games at 6 then came back to sso at 8 and then came back again at 11) is getting destroyed...
Honestly, I am very disapointed in the dark riders. They look completely different from what I grew up to. I want old SSO back. I want the SSO that cared about their player base, I want SSO that cared about the game content, not horses. This game was going down hill for a long time now, and its honestly sad how we, the players have to wake SSO up. We bonded with this game, we all LOVED this game. But if SSO keeps going down like this, they will lose many players including me. I want this game to be fixed, they cant put us to a shelf and pretend we arent there. It's time to wake SSO up.

man i've been saying this for sooooo long, i complained to everyone i came accross, especially as an artist myself, this hurts on a physical level. Starshine set Star Stable up with an incredibly unique and cool art style and character designs that popped. SSO just took it for granted and dumbed them down, and never managed to understand what made these character designs so special. i'm steaming with rage every time i see the soulrider redesigns, and my insides curl up in disgust, they ruined these characters BIG TIME.
I've been playing sso really unactively for the past 4 years, but now I uninstalled the game bc I literally never open the game so what's the point of having it take space from my computer?
I'm not even mad about the broken lore (though it is awful) i'm mad they wasted time making new characters instead of just updating the looks and animations.

Each time I think I can't be more disappointed, and each time they manage to surprise me... The new dark riders are just bland, all of them are the embodiment of "trends" ( I don't mean that the thing/concept itself is a trend, but that the subject is popular right now) : Chiyo is hobby horsing and unnatural hair color; Sabine is a butch and a rebel; Katja is the ethnic/shamanic side and has an electric violin ( Lindsey Stirling ?) and Jessica/Jay represents the non binary side with a gender neutral name and look, despite not being a non binary as they seem to use "she" for her. But none of them seem to really have a personality except being "evil". And that's sad, sad like when they totally forgot characters like Syntax which could be interesting but just stay here for nothing. It's even more frustrating as those characters and the story were starting really well, but they chose to not work on them and only being lazy.
I have a feeling SSO is thinking our position is just little kids, always taking the easy way when thinking about updates and other additions. It’s like they don’t even look our way and aren’t doing what is called “Democracy”. It’s a form of government where we all have a say on what bills/laws are passed and made into official ones. I have a feeling SSO should really try that. What they r only doing is basically making the food old times into new ones basically moving on and chucking all the old feelings where everything was perfect and calm, where as of now, I have no idea what to expect. If they could turn the SSO community into a democratic society where they listen to everyone’s suggestions to make the game better, everything would be perfect. I couldn’t believe they would change the old Sabine into a dark and mysterious character, looking absolutely terrifying, taking away the old and calm vibes we used to have. Also, one other thing is all NPCS have clothing options we aren’t allowed to have. I don’t think I clearly understand why they get carried away and get too far when creating NPCS , instead of focusing on the MAIN character. OUR character. The person who’s SUPPOSED to save JORVIK, but intentionally failed and the one who looks outdated as the new horses come. Still, I hope SSO changes this. Fingers crossed, Rattle!!

I don't play that game and I only know things about it from multiple videos that I watched becazse I am totally here for the drama.
As someone who enjoys creating models for games and actually create mini games just for myself to enjoy as practice I can tell the dev of that game is taking their players and player base for granted. It kinda feels like the head of the game is in the mindset that the player owes the company some things. Thus rising prices for ingame items and all while disregarding potentially serious and dangerous bugs. I've heard of people logging into strangers accounts by accident which is a huge red flag and should've actually made the dev's shut down all servers to fix the problem.. But all I see so far is a team that doesn't care.

They care for the amount of profit they could gather with the least amount of costs putting into what could bring profit. A principle that will always fail.
I've seen quite a few videos of that game and yes, the files are easy to be edited. There's no real protection and it's probably only a matter of time until IPs can be provided and people get DDos. Before anyone starts 'the game is secure' well no it isn't. I've barely ever seen a game with so many security issues as that one. But even if it was. Red dead redemption 2 had the issue that hackers could see a players IP. With the right mod you can follow a person from session to session until they quit out the game. You could DDos them, remove all items lke their money, items, weapons, horses.
If a game that actually has some security had issues like that. Then a game like star stable that has bad customer service, lack in security and with that low-quality updates will die as soon as either something bad happens( like a mod like that) in said game which makes it dangerous to play and then have fun trying fix that. People will leave because of worry which had happened to quite a few games already.
Or
As soon as there's a new horse adventure game that one will die out very quickly. A game that gives the player some entertainment without constant hard grinding. A game that allows you to both enjoy the scenery but also grants you guests that are more than just racing and picking up trash or stone (as mentioned in previous videos of Rattle) to be fair im not up to date to what's standard in the game but from what I could see in my researches only horses get added and that's basically it.
I think them fixating on a plot like that so much that it's going towards gatekeeping is also off putting for many from what I could see. There won't be male characters which sends in my opinion a wrong signal. As wrong as it would be to play a game that has male characters only. Which if you look at great games isn't the case.

The game is making a lot of money. In their very special way... But still it's making money. It's hard to believe that they can't work out guests or add on the story line. It's just laziness that prevents it, and not wanting to put in too much money but want money in return... Thus buffing up the prices for everything from waht I saw. It's sad.

I like how you said that when the customers are upset star stable couldn't care less but if shareholders are upset star stable is upset (u said in one of your videos I don't know if it was this one) so if sso wont listen to us. get the shareholders attention about what's happening then they will be upset, star stable will be upset because the shareholders are upset then they will try and fix the game.
