Very good price point for with casino offer for the type of cabin you have. I find that with RCL the Casino Rate pricing is much better. There is no administrative fee just pay port fees and taxes. Sailed the Getaway in the Haven in 2009. Awesome experience, these days I'm out priced. Trying go after the Casino Offers for better prices now. RCL is rocking for me right now. Have a safe journey!

is there still a lot of road work around cruise port? we're doing moderno 1st night as well 3/1/20. glad you liked it, been seeing mixed reviews.
I didn't notice too much construction but it did take a few minutes to get through traffic - not too bad though. Have a wonderful cruise! Hugs!

We've been to a Brazilian Steakhouse & it is delicious, so much food! I noticed not a lot of kids on board which is what we like. Going to have to look into Norwegian Cruise lines again.
There were not as many kids but it is also January when they are in school just after holiday break. I would imagine in vacation months that would change. Nachi was so much fun that vlog will be posting Wednesday. I am sure you will love NCL! Hugs!

Beautiful ship. The Casino is deceivingly large. So would love to dine at the place where the Cirque Dreams ans Steam is. Sounds like a lot of fun.

The food looks great so far. I'm gluten intolerant and only cruise Carnival because I'm comfortable with their gluten free options. Looking forward to seeing the rest of this series to see what Norwegian Getaway has to offer.
I ate VERY WELL on this ship but I will say you have to double and triple check when dining at the buffet and Margaritaville. More on that in our review but they did go out of their way to accommodate and again the food was outstanding! Hugs!

Just went on this ship in Dec. Will not cruise with NCL again. Food was horrible, too many drunks, most activities were in the atrium which was too crowded, staff not to friendly, had to pay extra for so many things. Hope yall had a better time than we did.
Oh No! I am so sorry you had a bad experience. Ours was very different than yours but I do agree about the atrium and the extra cost of some things. We will go over that in our review. Hopefully if you cruise again you have a much better time! Thank you for watching! Hugs!

Hi, have you guys thought about cruises in Europe and other places other than the usual Caribbean or Mexico cruises? It would be nice to see new scenery and longer cruises.
We would love to sail European cruises but for now we can't leave work for that long. They are on our list for sure! One day! Hugs!

Hi! Our friend purchased it on a previous cruse and I purchased it from him for the regular price, $250 - the price it is sold on the ship. When we sailed NCL previously (the Bliss) we didn’t think to purchase any as it was our first NCL cruise. Thank you for watching.

Have you not seen a Cirque du Soleil show before? They are so good! I've seen both touring productions and Vegas productions. I'm super curious to see how they would do it on a cruise ship.

It was pretty good. We lost connection a couple of times but it was back up shortly. The Bliss was the same. I found it to be fairly fast, I could watch UA-cam videos with the top tier plan. Hugs!

I was on the Breakaway in Sept 2019 it was the same layout. Moderno was the absolute best!!! Wish we did that twice.
Moderno is so good! You really don't need to eat until dinner the next day, haha! Breakaway and Getaway are sister ships! Hugs!
We were on her several weeks prior to your cruise. Did you get your fan back, I was able to get mine back on the ship to use it.
No but only because I made a mistake. They did provide a fan for me- above and beyond and much appreciated. I’ll talk about this in the review. Once in the ship Customer Service explained what port security didn’t make clear.

Question?!!! Do you have to have a passport on a closed cruise??? I’ve never been on a cruise before or even been out of the country
Hi, I suggest you watch a video from an expert on Passports vs. Birth Certificates on a cruise. There is a lot of information on government run websites. Do not take the following information as fact, again please do your own research: Many people use their certified copy birth certificate when cruising and they are widely accepted. The biggest issue is if you miss your ship in a foreign port of call you cannot return to the united states with your birth certificate only. Can you help me with this cruise. Hearing alot of bad reviews about this ship. is this ship better than carnival horizon
Hi there. We have not sailed Horizon but we have sailed Vista, a similar ship. I can give you some general comparisons of the two lines and general ship comparisons. There are some distinct differences in Carnival and Norwegian. It really depends on what you prefer in cruising. We enjoyed the Getaway very much but did find the venues to be overly crowded, often missing events if we did not arrive 2 hours beforehand to get a proper seat. On a Carnival ship 15 to 20 minutes early and you are usually just fine to find a seat. The only crowded venues are typically comedy shows. The food is fantastic on the Getaway, always above par. The Food on Carnival is good but nothing special. The activities on a Carnival ship are plentiful and have great variety. Norwegian ships are somewhat the same but the events are not as entertaining as I find them on Carnival and again usually crowded. Lastly, the ships themselves. I find Norwegian ships to be beautifully decorated with very comfortable seating and furnishings. I find Carnival ships to be more colorful, still pretty in their own way but not as elegant and not as lush and comfortable but not uncomfortable. Having said that I love Carnival and sail them more often than not. Hope that helps a bit. Comparing Horizon to Getaway is comparing apples to oranges; very, very different ships and lines. Be well!
