I really like how intentional you are about your purchases. If I bring in another fountain pen to my collection, it means I will have less time to use my favorite pens. I’ve never thought of it like that before, but it’s a good way to gauge how much I really want the new pen.
I enjoyed how you described being a crafty person in re: to the frame stamp for tarot readings. It's so true that we have tools and skills at our disposal to be more intentional with how things fit in our lives.
+1 kindred! I also have 2-3 favorites FPs and am fiercely devoted to them, and got the dragon palace pen earlier this year to use alongside my first passport size. My TN inserts are collaged with mailers cutouts, and even made some folders too -- I'm really proud of those layouts and wouldn't get the same joy from purchasing stickers. Really inspired by the DIY tarot frame stamp!
So glad I stumbled onto your channel! Looking forward to seeing your tarot journal set up. I’m using a hobo weeks this year for my tarot journal and I’m working well with it!
Love the subway token! I remember those all too well. The rat is the perfect accompaniment to the token. They do go together very well. Since you live in NYC, beware the Fountain Pen Hospital. They have taken, and continue to take, a good bit of cash from me. Seriously, though, great retailer and great staff. One of my homes away from home.
I have been thinking a lot about these things and next year will be a year of purging the things I don't love and don't use, while getting to know the things I already have.
I’m so glad that your video popped up randomly in my UA-cam feed! I was just thinking about how I’ll go forward next year with my purchases-and how I want to avoid buying something only because I like the thing-rather than knowing ahead of time how I’ll use the new purchase. I really admire your intentionality as well as the genuine pleasure you have in your pens and other purchases :)
Hello! Can you tell me where you got the blue (nylon/canvas wallet) insert in your passport with the brass bear charm on the front. It looks much nicer than the ones I've purchased. Thanks!
I almost got the green lehit case from jetpens. It’s really cool. 😎 love the Galen leather 3 pen holder in Ocean. Jetpens has a couple small pads of fountain pen friendly paper which may fit in the case. Please make more vids.
New York is so amazing 😂 avoiding Times Square we get it now! Just went last month during Black Friday weekend chaos. Love your little subway token! What a great idea. (Oh and friends shared with us the rat 🐀 carrying a slice of pizza viral video 🍕 😆)
Loved this video so much!! ❤ I did a lot of nodding in agreement with what you were saying. Your little art kit in the lihit lab pouch at the start is adorable. Love how much you utilise waterproof inks (I am also a fan) and about not doing hauls and trying to create instead of buy. Only this morning I lost patience trying to find something online within my budget, and decided to give up and construct it myself from an old box 😅 which really I am glad about in the end as I saved money and probably hours of my life doing fruitless searching. Really enjoyed the video, glad to have found you, and I have subscribed, hooray!
That's amazing! Yeah it seems like a fun challenge to try to figure out how to make something instead of buying it. I'm so glad you enjoyed this video.
thank you for showing and flipping through 🙂 your drawings are quite amazing. Seems you like mushrooms? I am pretty new to the toppic and just learn to lose my fear *lol*. Which TN insert do you use for drawing? Does it take watercolours well? I love the crinkly look and sound 🤩
I've been using the lightweight insert. It isn't meant for watercolors but it works great. I believe it is tomoe river paper and it is so wonderfully crinkly
I have a nice collection of pens and just today before this video, I came to a similar conclusion: if I buy more pens, I get to use my favorites less and that makes me sad but also happy because I do have a favorite pen (it’s also a Sailor PGS, coincidentally)
I have been coming to the conclusion of adding more items means that older items are used less. I’m personally someone who does need to which things out periodically because I get bored and I want to preserve my things but I also know that I have a more minimal inventory and I get decision fatigue very easily so staying in that middle ground is challenging sometimes. But I like being reminded of it. This was a nice video to watch. I will also be trying to use more of my things in 2024 as well. I am not a huge fan of haul videos either. It is easy to get influenced and sometimes when it is excessive then it is kind of a turn off to watch. At least in my opinion.
Hi Claudia. You could very easily make a little notebook for your Galen leather 3 pen case. You can use notebook paper (or your favorite paper) make it twice as long as you need and fold it in half. Get a a piece of cardboard from a cereal box etc….and it can be what slides into the notebook slot. Think of a matchbook, only in the size you need. Super easy, cheap and you can make it as big or as small as you want.

Thank you! Yeah I want to make sure I am able to use what I have

love the way you speak about being intentional and conscious with what you purchase ❤

That sounds so lovely. It must really give you so much joy when you open your TN.

Thank you! Oh I love that, do you do daily card pulls? I feel like that would be perfect in the weeks.

Good to know! And yes, I have very visceral memories of my coin purse full of subway tokens.

Yes! I have such nice stuff, I should be using it!

I love that ocean blue Galen Leather pen case! Thanks for sharing.
The color is so good!
I've had the same green Smart Fit case for over five years and it's still going strong! It's my fav color too ^_^
It is such a good case! It really feels built to last.
This was a very enjoyable video! As someone who grew up in the Bronx, I love the subway token! Do you happen to have a link to the set of NYC stamps?
I absolutely love the Lihit Lab green case. I have several.
Oh what do you use them for?

It was part of the TRC USA Holiday Release this year. They had them in blue and olive, I believe it is from their partnership with To & Fro.

Thanks!! The plan is to post weekly for now, so there should be another video on Monday. Yeah I should see if they would have anything that fits there

Ha! That's amazing. I cannot even imagine what it was like on Black Friday...

I enjoyed your video. It would be helpful if you provided links to the products.
Thanks for the note!
Has your favorite FP purchased changed to the new one that's coming? Thanks so much for sharing!
It may! I will have to do a reassessment after that one arrives and after I get the mystery vintage pen from my dad

The balance is definitely hard!

Great tip!
Really resonate with the stamp talk. Creating your own design and use it often instead of buying. Really needed to have that mindset everyday 🥲
