    I’m just starting to knap and watching you impressed me immensely. I have a basic idea what you’re doing but to watch you pull that piece out of the fire two or three times, was way beyond what I expected. My hats off to you sir!

    U make it all look so easy, I watched alot of Huntprimitive and where I git my flint and I try "cleanin" the edges and end up with so many step fractures and hinges and struggle workin around them

    What do you have wrapped around your indirect percussion stick? Some kind of rubber , maybe an inner tube?

    Beautiful blade Jason. What advantages did you gain when you switched from an aluminum tip to a copper tip on the indirect?

    • @myBanjohasemgz
      @myBanjohasemgz  3 роки тому +1

      Better transfer of power. The aluminum has a lot of give to it, so there is a loss of efficiency. It responds great to some flint and terrible to others.

    Would you agree, that a good deal of your success, is due to a good supply of high quality rock?

      I don't know of any on the market currently. Keith rickwartz possibly might have some, but I don't recall seeing any at the last knap in.

    what does the rubber piece around your indirect stick help do?

    • @myBanjohasemgz
      @myBanjohasemgz  3 роки тому

      It just dampens the blow and reduces shock from the strike

    This blade doesn’t seem practical for everyday use. I don’t think it would last very long during a butchering process. It’s like hafting a turkey tail and expecting it to remain intact. It is a beautiful blade though. Thanks for sharing.
