Ansoutley I’m still using these orginal ones. Bought a second pack. My wife got me a couple of Dewalt brand ones for Xmas haven’t used them yet but they were more expensive and I’m not sure I like the design of them. We’ll see.
I dont' have any with me at the moment but if you pull down the lever inide the hand and bend the hand backwards it will release all the tension, it takes some muscle but it works
Quick question...I am looking forward to using this strap on my side rail on the roof top of my vehicle. The underneath of the side rail is a wide, flat surface and the double hook does not completely grasp the underneath of the side rail. When ratcheted, the tension in the strap keeps everything tight but am worried if it stays the same at highway speeds. How do you feel about it ?
I wouldn’t feel great about it. I have done that exact thing before but I’m always on the edge of my seat while driving. If there is room you can always feed it under the bar and then across abd hook it to itself making a continuos loop
If you do let me know what you think. I have used them a ton since my review and am going to pick up another four pack. They are the perfect balance between durability and not too heavy
@@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP Tim I picked them up a week or so ago and they seem to be of good quality. I unfortunately already wrecked one. I had a stump grinder tied down with them and the front one came loose and got under the trailer tire and is shredded! Oh well another strap for the scrap heap.
I recently purchased some of these and they are excellent to use … just the job and they look the part .., 👍😊

I will have to look for them the next time I go to costco. I go through a set of straps every year due to wear and tear.

@@aarondarling6653 that happens i normally hold onto the ratchet section in that case as a replacement and then year later throw it away lol
@@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP I have cut down the straps in the past and made shorties out of them. they are sometimes useful
That’s a good idea. Something like holding a battery box down on the front of a camper that would work for
Wow, I just paid $20 for mine at Costco. I got a deal.
Prices are always higher up here in Canada as well :(
@@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP Oh, yeah. Poor dear. 😟
