- Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) defended his foreign aid package after House conservatives threatened to tank the bills on Wednesday.
"We're not going to get 100 percent of what we want right now," Johnson said in an interview with CNN.
The package includes separate aid bills for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, but does not include border funding, which Freedom Caucus members strongly oppose.

Part of the money to Ukraine will be a loan that Ukraine will have to pay back. The West has frozen more than 300 billion in Russian assets. Those will be given to Ukraine that they will use to rebuild their country. They will spend some of that money here in the US. The Lend Lease Program is also being used. Lend Lease was used in WW2.
Another part of the money will be used to buy new weapons to replace the ones being given to Ukraine, providing jobs here in the states.
