It was pretty clear that when that bill got shot down, the purpose to make the current administration seem inept. I think that became the general playbook almost as soon as the dust settled after January 6th. By doing so, they stood a better chance at winning in the midterm elections, and eventually giving their party's leader another shot...assuming he was not in prison.

I have been living in Georgia for 15 years and I must say that I'm very glad that I voted for Senator Ossoff. We need new blood like him in both the House ans Senate.

I voted for Biden/Harris in 2020, and will happily vote for them again this November.
At this point, I won't vote for any Republican candidate, whether they are Maga or not.
The "old guard Republicans" who are leaving, (for example, Mitt Romney), are correct in their decisions to retire.
In the current Republican era, they couldn't win re-election anyway.
