Do you guys think that Solas will succeed in his attempts to destroy the very veil, leaving Thedas in ruins, potentially waking two blights? Let's discuss!
More importantly: How do the spirits feel about all of this? Surely they would not exist in their current state if Solas hadn't created the veil. Now that the veil has been around for so long and 2 different worlds have evolved over this period, it's not only the material world that would be destroyed, but the spirit world as well. I highly doubt that the spirits are going to be as gung-ho about being annihilated as Solas thinks. In fact, I expect the next game to involve the player siding with spirits (perhaps even demons) to stop Solas from what he's attempting to unleash/unmake.
I don't think demons would care much the whole point of demons is that they want to return to the world of living and I'm certain the spirits we saw in library long to be whole again. I doubt the Fade would be destroyed either because it is always in a constant state of change as spirits use it as it means to reflect up and down and go forwards and backwards and it doesn't become as such till one's mind can shape it as proven by the command spirit when in Crestwood. Not to mention the fact that the fade is more endless in its energy. The only ones that would probably be affected by this is stronger spirits that command large regions of the fade like the Sloth demon in origins or The Nightmare.
To be quite honest, whatever happens, I don't want a boss fight with Solas. I want him to remain incredibly powerful. We'd be fighting a creature who quite literally created the Viel. He altered the entire world. It's difficult to imagine such power, and I honestly don't want my hero to reach such a strength. It would lessen the feeling of total strength Solas has, which I'm simply not keen on. If anything, I want a battle of wits to ensue between us and Solas, as we try to both outmaneuver him as well as persuade him out of his disastrous plan. Great video, mate. You have yourself a new subscriber.
I want to be able to go with him, convince him not to or find another way. I don’t want to have to kill him like he’s just another villain, he isn’t Corypheus he’s different and I hope he gets treated as such, considering the developers did confirm that Solas cares deeply for the inquisitor i think we may be able to persuade him possibly
It would be cool if you had two options one to appeal to him and try to change his mind and the other to take him out unfairly like an assassination or like by surprise fighting dirty or by any means necessary not really by a boss fight but by sabotaging something over the course of the main game and causing him to kill himself
Like it’s sort of done without honour but his plan is to cause so much death that it’s justified so you sort of have to have an anders blowing up the chantry moment or a warden commander burning down ameranthine moment just to stop his greater destruction of tearing down the veil maybe it even results in the death of many innocents as well
Mind you that Solas doesn't consider elves from the modern day to be his people. His people died when he created the veil. I believe the goal was to return himself to before the fade was created and stop the action from occurring. We've seen already that time travel is possible with the whole trip to the future.
No he doesn't. He's quite harsh towards modern elves and I'm still pretty salty about how he broke up with my Inquisitor. I'm not sure what he's doing. I'm slightly under the impression he's trying to undo his past mistakes and wake the Elven gods, but also Fen'Harel is a trickster so I don't trust him. He's out for his own power and has always had been in his lore.
it was also mentioned in that trip to the future in a note that the breach was the catalyst and it wasn't possible to travel outside of the period of it's existence, as alexius couldn't get the magic to work when attempting to travel to before the breach explosion
dianna k Halfway true. The eutherian (the sleep) is what you're refering to. It doesnt actually require others if you have perfected it. Wether or not solas has perfected it is a matter of debate. But you are correct there are still many elves who have not lost their immortality, though how they kept it is likely tied to how powerful they were with the Fade before the veil
@@Pattabazza The brach allows time travel because of the power of the fade being so strong, before the Veil was erected it was just as strong, so it could be possible to travel to a time before the Veil, Alexius just didn't know about there being a time before the Veil and likely only tried to travel to periods in recorded history.
I think solas will succed i just dont see we'll be able to stop him i mean he turned all those qunari into stone with a blink of a eye. How we going fight someone that powerful?
Theres one race that knows all about stone...maybe we are going to get alot of aid from the dwarves. Plus if we are going to have a new crew it will have to be strangers solas knows nothing about. He knows everything about our DAI . I think Dorian and tevinter will be a main part and dont forget he has constant contact with our DAI (besties with that recording xtal necklace). But solas can also visit people in dreams and would be able to find out most peoples next move....but not the dwarves. Dagna flat out tells us dwarves dont dream. Hence they would be the safest bet in keeping our stopping and or helping solas plans out of his reach.
@@Shadowhunterbg Foul dark spawn don't get ahead of yourself. The wardens will stop you, or you know maybe just one or two wardens with an aray of allies at their back.
Bioware's been painfully vague about why exactly Flemeth wanted the Dark Ritual performed in the first place; Morrigan wouldn't even tell a romanced HoF what the endgame was. Maybe given the end of DA:I it ties into Solas' plan somehow.
One of the Evanuris as a companion would be so cool. My vote would go to Dirthamen for his vast knowledge and his ravens Fear and Deceit or Falon'Din for his power over death. I can't see that all seven of them killed Mythal. I would think Andruil, Ghil'anain and Elgar'nan would be the most likely suspects as they would have most motive. I would love a game where Solas succeeds in destroying the veil. So much potential for incredible landscapes.
Tracy Boyall Solas seems more trickster in the sense he doesn't tell you more about himself nor do I think he has any reason to lie especially when one upping others in their knowledge of elven lore. If Falon Din did inspire more sacrfices in his name across the empire than he's monster beyond imagining and if Dirthamen is in fact is reflection then he may not be any better either.
They were called twin souls with a relationship that went beyond friendship of course that's legend, but Dirthamen temple was way to shady at least what his followers did anyway.
Here's the thing about something in DAI. Solas has us active the elven artifacts that help strengthen the veil. Here's the thing though. The veil didn't exist in the time of the ancient elf's. So what the hell did he have us active?!
Ooooohhh that would be an awsome twist...hmm abelas comes out of the woodwork cuz he knows what is coming and our team is the only one who can stop it and save solas or do away with solas. He could bring the inside glimpse of the true ehvhans and how just their existance will be detrimental. It doesnt appear any of the old timers value the elves of present. Maybe abelas will see how unfair an extinction to the present elves would be when they were innocent in the cause? Definately would be cool to plot him in somehow...also did he serve mythal or the temple? Mythal being absorbed by solas coulda really irked abelas.
I think it would be cool if Solas inadvertently (whether he's interrupted in a ritual, or the veil is irreversible) causes the final blight with 2 arch demons by the end of DA4. And in DA5 the dragon age ends and the new age is named based on your choices. Say the case is fully separated from Thades the age could be called Tranquil age. Another could be Magic age, reunion age, heretical age, or if the chantry is destroyed the ages end
Re playing through all the DA and I hear Merrill say "How did sundermount get its name, its not Elven is it?." I'm here just thinking to myself.... Sundermount... sunder.... sunder the fade.......... noooo it can't be... Quick check on DAwiki. (Sundermount is the tallest mountain of Vimmark and has a fearsome reputation. Legend says it was the site of a vicious battle where the ancient Tevinter and the elves of Arlathan unleashed horrors into the waking world.) Or can it...
I think the Veil needs to be destroyed. No matter what, it simply cannot be healthy for Thedas to have that imposed on it. So if I have a choice I will help Solas even though he will probably still need to be stopped afterwards. However, I think he basically is on a one-way trip here in his mind, restore things or die trying, because he didn't try enough before and things with Mythal. He's going to go full Anders - which I dread, because you know.
I think the weird part is that we're assuming humans and current elves will just die from the act even though humans existed before the Veil too. I think the risk is the act of destroying the Veil, not the idea of the Fade merging with the world. Kind of like a water dam breaking and drowning the towns downstream. The water in itself won't kill you, it's the massive water wave that comes from the destruction of the dam.
LeonGun8 i personally don’t think solas knows what will happen, he might have geared himself up for the worst, which we can see by him not getting too attached to this world with exception of the inquisitor if you romanced him. He created the veil but he didn’t know what it would do to the rest of the elves and clearly that came as a shock to him so how does he know it will destroy thedas? It’s very likely that it will do something close to the breach with the Evanuris coming through and having to be killed, although the veil destroying thedas may be true as well
I don't want Dragon Age as a series to end for good, I do want them to end the Dragon Age at Dragon Age 5, but I would like to experience a new Age as well, I just think it would be kool!
I am sorry if this has been expressed before, I am new to the channel but I love your videos! Anyway, I believe Mythal is still very much alive. I believe she pushes her soul through the Eluvian right before Solas kills her. (It's either hers or the old god she took from Keiren. I believe its hers and since I dont remember speaking to Morrigan after that piece, I believe Morrigan/Mythal will be the main force for the last game. If not this next one.) But the biggest clue is when Solas says "I am so sorry." and she replies "I am sorry as well, old friend." She has a plan and she is apologizing to Solas because her plan will trump his and probably destroy him. Might I also mention that while Solas slept, Mythal was awake, planning. She has had all this time to get back at her fellow Evanuris, fix Solas's vast mistake and heal the world. I also think Mythal WAS Andraste. I think she and the girl Andraste did what they could to heal the world back then, and of course her efforts were perverted, their intent destroyed. Look how often she has tried to help as Flemeth and still she is feared.
i agree 100%. I think she is the series' real villain and solas is her puppet as he's always been. She may have even faked her own death in order to let her dog Solas go after her enemies and let her plot for 1000 years without interruptions.
I think those elven magic artifacts solas has you activate all the way through inquisition will have a part in him bringing down the veil. Notice he says they will help strengthen the veil but really I never noticed any difference in their use. What if you just activated enough artifacts that will aid solas in bringing the veil down all over thedas? Plus notice there isnt one in skyhold? I think he isnt completely evil and hoping the inquisitor stays in skyhold they will actually remain as safe as possible. Plus how you chose to build your skyhold may come into play as to what will happen to inqy there. Did you build it for battle and worship? Or for magic and healing? We may hear while we are fighting against the slave masters of teventer and building a new crew to either take down solas or help our friend solas, that our inqy skyhold is a place many are flocking to for some kind of safety cuz the rest of thedas is being overrun by everything that comes out of the veil.Or maybe itll be a place where solas runs to after he brings down the veil and releases the gods and they come hunting him and his plans seem to fall short yet again. Remember none of solas well thought out plans ever pan out the way he wants them to and that may be how we save our friend solas or let him die in his making...soooo many ways this could go.
I love this video! I just played through Trespasser now, and it's awesome to me that someone is making new content for Dragon age fans even though this year we are kind of in a dry spell of new Dragon age stuff from Bioware. I think that the elves aren't the only ones with relationships with the Fade. Obviously the first Tevinter attempt to breach the veil was a disaster. But it does make me wonder what kind of to Tevinter research, lore, even their own gods, we will see in Dragon Age 4. Especially because the impression that I got both from reading The Masked Empire and from things said in the game was that even though great magics were used to build an empire, the average elf was no more a great mage then the average human is now. Further, the elves had a huge empire, but they certainly didn't have the entire world. Humans came from somewhere, we know they arrived in southern Thedas around the same time as Solas created the veil, but we also know that was a coincidence. We don't know what great human empires might have existed off our known map before the Veil went up. Or, what great powers they might have drawn from the Fade. For that matter, The Qunari came south fleeing another great empire with its own powers due to some unspecified catastrophe (The Veil?). And we know from The Descent that it is at least possible in one case for Lyrium to interact with a dwarf to grant magical powers. In summary, I think you are absolutely right that we will have to address Solas's desire to rip down the Veil. But I think that the answer is going to be a merging of information, secrets, and ancient powers from multiple races and empires to define a new relationship between all powers and the Fade. My theory anyway :)
I tend to lean towards that belief as well. I also think our Inqy is andraste reborn we just dont know it...when solas is on the balcony he asks if the mark has changed you? How were you before? Your spirit ? Then he tells you that you remind him of someone with a wisdom he has not seen since the early elven time. Plus when you save his friend the wisdom spirit turned into evil from being pulled into this world against her will. He explains how her soul will return one day, shes not truly dead, but she will likely not remember him as before. It is said the makers children came from the fade and upon death will return to the fade. Who is to say a strong enough soul or a heros soul cant return the same way as his spirit friend? Afterall I assume upon death you become a spirit. Andraste had a strong compassion for the people of the world. She begged the maker to not give up on them. And when spirits come into the world depending on the persons soul they come in contact with they become many times evil spirits of pride n such. Yet Cole....a spirit of compassion...in contact with our inqy...probly a long stretch with that one, i just find it interesting the correlation of spirits and what they may turn into upon contact with the human world. Yet our inqy and team has attracted a spirit of compassion.
There are many factors where that could be the case and its a belief i share as well, and would explain why he would have the pwr to lock away the evanuris(thats powerful time magic) his knowledge of overall historic events. The mural of him standing against the dread wolf. His interest in human society and beliefs. It is possible the belief of the maker is a form humans adopted of hearing of ancient elvan society. He is practical and against madness. And think abt the maker abandoned his creations just imagine that maker sacrifice himself to end the blights, to kill the evanuris and the real dread wolf. "He said he used the dread wolf to put hope in his friends and fear in his enemies". If you romance him he says i can't do that to you, there is only death on this journey. Me in my head headcannon he is the maker, he has too much knowledge and insight, ooh right elves started aging when the veil was torn too and he hasn't aged at all that too is a connection. If he created everything he wouldn't be bound by the rules affecting others.
8:50 - You forgot to include The Architect, who appeared in the first Dragon Age DLC. It's pretty obvious that he too was a magister, just like Corypheus.
I'm honestly torn...on the one hand, Thedas is crap all around, but on the other hand it still has so much potential if people like the Warden, Hawke, and the Inquisitor (assuming they ultimately aim for a better world) were to guide Thedas.
Small problem: The dwarves will be fine. They're empire existed in the time of the elven (btw that is a corruption of the word of Solas' people for an insult that seems to translate into something like "outcast" and "scum") empire's height. There is also the factor that the golden city was the creation of the "elven gods" and booby trapped by Solas, it was a combination of that and the blood magic (mostly using elven sacrifices) that the Magisters used to physically enter it that caused the Blight in the first place...if Solas breaks the curse he placed there it might undo the Blight entirely, though that doesn't prevent the dragon Old Gods from returning...though they may have a connection to the elven gods given the murals you find.
@@moomimi That does not add up though. The Elven Pantheon consists of 9 gods, including Solas/Fen'Harel. The 7 Old Gods must be the Elven Gods EXCLUDING Solas and Mythal (Elgar'nan, Falon'Din, Dirthamen, Andruil, Sylaise, June, Ghilan'nain), since Solas locked only those away after Mythal's Murder.
At 6:04 you mentioned two orbs however in the conversation with Solas after Haven's destruction Solas mentions foci (aka multiple) so it's possible that there are more than two! Seeing the nature of the Evanuris I doubt that they would have let Fen'Harel have such a powerful artifact without having something for themselves as well. Just a thought.
Maybe in Dragon Age 4 you will be able to choose which side you will be at the very beginning. Or what is the origin as it was in Dragon Age Origins. It would be nice if the hero could be decided, in case of people, whether he came from Tewinter or from another place. Maybe we will help Solas in his plan from the very beginning. I think that such an assumption would be nice. Fight against all previous heroes. Be their main opponent after Solas. Anyway, I just can not wait for the next part.
Curios. Cat Correcta mundo. It is ironic isnt it? The realization hasnt dawned on anyone yet besides Solas himself. Another interesting tid bit is that Mythal (as flemeth) is probably the one who came to Andraste and gave her dreams about the "maker" creating the veil and encouraging her to create a religion based on Solas's creation of the veil. I dont know why but thats what it appears to be Whats even more intersting is that the creation of the veil is what caused humans to become in existence. If you pay attention all their history stops with the veil. They have NO history before it, and this is actually mentioned in the ingame books. Huge blow for "maker" and the chantry
I hope the Architect returns in the next game, or that we see at least one of the other Magisters. As for new blights, if you spare the Architect in Awakening he severs the Darkspawn connection to The Old Gods.
I'm SO EXCITED to see what happens when the veil is destroyed. I think it is inevitable at this point - will be VERY disappointed if Solas does not achieve this in the next game.
We haven't seen what the Elves did.. I mean Solas banished them for a reason.. He compared most of the Elven Gods to the rulers of Tevinter only much more powerful.. Just because Humans have messed up, doesn't neccesarily mean the alternative was better
DutchGabbers according to everything that I've seen the elves were like a United ancient Greeks (which happened after their great war) with their good and bad goods. Buuuuuut after all said and done the elves baiscally became a combination of the jews/gipces and being pushed to the point of extinction.
What? Tevinter did not destroy the elves... that were elves warring among themselves. (we learn that in Temple of Mythal) yes there was exalted march on the Dales - elves who sat out the Blight... so... really - humans did not do that much to the elves in general.
Grand Elven Rebellion, Last Blight, Qunari Invasion on Thedas and also chaos because the veil, will be destroyed, Waking off the giants, also we can't forget about Architect, his plan and other Magisters. It would be fun to see
All I want is my next character to be something with an old God or something along those lines in his family bloodline. It's time for this one to show my hawke and Inquisitor what true power is 💪
Solas is like Hermes, the Coyote, or Loki - the Trickster personality - who conceals his plans, and his motives. He clearly did throughout the main campaign of Inquisition, the snag in his plan: was the destruction of the Orb when Corypheus fell at the hands of the Inquisitor and his/her companions. Solas will either succeed in bringing the end of the Dragon Age, or be stopped by the next protagonist and his/her companions in the lands of Tevinter and the Imperium.
My opinion is that not everything needs to be revealed. Mysteries are what keep the series interesting, we don't need to know whether the Maker is real or not - it's a big part of faith, as any religion is. Beyond that I don't have too much thought on the matter, I like to just wait and see what happens. I'm not too sure about 5 being an all-out war based on the events, as that would tie 4 and 5 together too closely. I feel like each game has always been their own story and setting, without being direct sequels to the games before them. This is why I believe there's going to be something else that will overshadow Solas as the next game's primary antagonist. Great video anyway, it really put Solas' intentions and some other things in perspective that I didn't fully understand before, so thank you. (:
kenjimaster666 Agree....but I do hope we get to debunk andraste as the maker's beloved. Nice if we find out that she was just a powerful mage that used the religion to gather people on her side.....would loooove to see the faces of those pompous ass chantry bitches then 😈
Lmao, I enjoy seeing the "holier-than-thou" pompous Chantry fools left speechless as much as the next person, but I think revealing truth around Andraste would be a bit much too. Though I like where you're coming from haha. I would definitely love a chance to humble them, to make them realise they're not above everyone else. That they need to sit the fuck down and not try to control everyone.
kenjimaster666 Not saying andraste wasn't "good" as the stories claim of her. I just had suspicions ever since dao that she wasn't actually the makers bride, and was simply a war hero of incredible power, but her story was elevated to the position of godhood. I'd still very much like if andraste was a hero....but they need to remove the "she was the makers chosen" and shut the chantry up.
People will believe what they will. I'll be happy personally so long as our character's faith is up to us. Inquisition did good on actually letting us do that. In Origins or DAII it was kinda implied we cared and that annoyed me. Actually speaking of that, there are a lot of moments throughout all DA games that assumes when our character cares about something, which they need to tone down a LOT. I feel like the protag being my character is being taken away when they show certain feelings about something that I don't.
What I think is that Solas is not too different than Cory was. Both wanted to bring back their world no matter the cost. Cory wanted to bring back ancient Tevinter while Solas wants to bring back the power of the elves which he said wasn't too different from Tevinter (Solas Dorian party banter). To me if they have him as the bad guy in the next game it would be too much like a remake of Inquisition. I personally would like a new blight. Fighting the blight in Origins was one of the things I enjoy and why my husband and I still play Origins after all these years. Id also like to have more Qunari interaction in the next game and I agree seeing Sten would be a highlight for us in the next game. Great video! keep it up!
The blight could be brought back since it would fit into the whole gods theme. We could find out more about the remaining two Old Gods and maybe they could both be corrupted and Dragon age could feature a blight with two Archdemons.
That could happen. The next character doesn't have to be part of the inqusition so he/she doesn't have the target of bringing down Solas. there is a big difference between Corypheus and Solas: Corypheus thought he would be right. He did the things he did without any remorse and believed into all he said. Solas knows he did a mistake and he wants to undo it. He also knows that this itself could or even will be a mistake. That's also why it would be more likely to have peaceful ending without him destroying the veil, if there will be a character who has the possibility to change Solas' mind, that means.
Kapitän JadeDejavu Just because Solas thinks it might be a bad idea to bring down the veil and destroy all of Thedas in the process doesn't change anything. He is still going to do it. He said so in Trespasser and no way to convince him to stop even if you romanced him. Knowing it's a bad idea but still doing it... yeah that makes him even more of a monster than Cory ever was. He will kill everyone and everything just to get back the world he destroyed over a thousand years ago... knowing that this will happen and he doesn't care screams Monster . So yeah good point Cory was actually nicer than Solas
Actually, if your friendship is high enough with Solas in Trespasser he states that you have shown him that there are parts of the world that might deserve saving. That you have given him pause. Yes, he leaves saying that he is still going to do it, but there is enough there, given how much you have impressed him, that makes you think you can find Solas in Tevinter and change his mind by proving once and for all people are worth saving. I've never romanced him, so I don't' know if there is more to that conversation in a romance...but it was certainly there when Solas was my elf inquisitor's best friend my first playthrough.
I have a feeling he will probably succeed in tearing down the Veil, at least partially. Heck perhaps the end game choice is "do you rebuild the barrier or leave it down?"
There are two old gods but that doesn't mean that they will get infected by the blight. There is a good chance that maybe,if the other orb is also lost that Solas might steal the power of the old gods to give him enough power to tear down the veil. Also, lets not forget about Sandal...he definitely has an old god soul in him...or maybe the soul of a titan? Maybe he will be brought back and have a major role in the next game or maybe Valta will play a major role. We might be seeing more of the titans or of those whom are connected to them. After all, isn't it best to use an ancient powerful being to stop another one?
I think the ending might be the same as Mass Effect. In that we might get a choice whether to 1) Let Solas take down the veil, 2) stop Solas from taking down the Veil and 3) Your own choice of whatever i think.
I think that Solas is going to definitely carry out his plan, because I don't see him as a flat out villain. I don't think that we will get that choice to stop or aid him, we will just simply have to bare witness to it. I want to believe that after the veil has been brought down, the darkspawn will find only one old god soul, bringing about another blight.
I think Solas will succeed, primarily because of Sandal's prophecy; to me, that just sounds waaaay too much in line with Solas' goal to not be significant. However, I think that destroying the Veil will end up giving *everyone* magic, and end up being a great equalizer just in time for our big bads to show up.
yeah you mention the inquisitor meess with solas plan but whe know that he saved him from shitting everything up because he didnt know he could revive like archdemons
Jackdaw Journalism - you could do a vid about what abilities or specialisations you miss or wish to see? For example; only a warden with a high coercion skill AND a high cunning attribute could successfully persuade and ultimately change the whole world depending on attribute allocation, skill expenditure and class (little bit of race too). Dragon age origins had a complexity that combined the importance of character upgrading for battle and its effect or counter-effects on ability to manipulate characters or situations (like having to spend on abilities in order to open locks, which means you can't get Master Archer soon enough or having to have high strength attribute to successfully 'intimidate' even if you need more dexterity for Shield Mastery. In dragon age inquisition and DA 2 there were no player unique limitations or consequences on plot development - you simply press A on the most appealing option.
I hope they can somehow follow Mass Effect 3's epic opening in maybe the final game but make a way better ending where choices from Dragon Age origins made an actual impact in shaping the ending.
Omg indeed you have so much questions , you know I thought about it and the idea that there is a second orb can be the best base for the game , like Dragon age 4 can be a competition a race inqusitor army against solas who will find the orb sooner and stand against the chaos coming , because how much I think about it I don't find any way to defeat solas
To me Solas wants to bring back the Elven civilization to its original rule while trying to genocide the Qunari and thwart Tevinter of it's capital and magisters, Which still makes me want to stop him
As a protagonist I would just want to play as Morigans chield, someone with the soul of an old god, giving you the dual perspective. A human mind with a wise uncorrupted god whispering in you're ear, or a corrupted vile archdemon trying to guide you're path. Culminating in you going to the Black City at the end.
I think the plot should not only focus on if you will side with Tevinter or Qunari, but also will you side with the elves and side with Solas in destroying the Veil, and the ongoing battle within the Grey Wardens. Would like the idea of 2 more Dragon Age games. 2 more blights - 2 more games. And it seems the titles of the games can be followed by the vowels - O - Origin, A - Awakening, I - Inquisition. So there is the letters E and U left. Which one will be used for DA 4?
I think the inquisitor will need another person with as much power as Solas (your new protagonist) like some kind of strange gone wrong experiment - as they are in Tevinter, magic and all. Who knows, just someone with alot of power(like a god). But that depends on if you want him dead or trying to stop him either way the inquisitor needs a powerful person, -your character in DA4. I dunno it's just an idea Edit : i can just imagine the opening scene to your character, in a fight and using his/her powers and word spreads of this power, which interested the inquisitor and asked your powerful, god like, strange character to help them destroy or save Solas.
Maybe someone originally intended to be a weapon against Qunari or something like that, but I like the idea of Tevinter's experiment as our new hero. But It would not work with having several Origin stories, which is what I really want back in DA4.
well in DAO it worked, any Origin Story kinda ended in the same situation (you beeing recruited by the wardens) The character shouldn't start that powerful, of course. Has Morrigans Ritual been done a long time before DAO? Maybe somehow the DA4 protagonist has the soul of an old god but its powers are still sleeping. Then there also should be more player-specific skills instead of just one.
I have been thinking alot about how Solas would be ripping the veil down and I believe he will be using the elven artifacts the Inquisitor has been activating all over Thedus as a vehicle to do so. That is my theory. I will be looking forward to Dragon age 4 to see if this does turn out to be the case. I have been a fan of Dragon age since the beginning. I love the continuity of the franchise.
Solas is a good character yes, but I really dislike that they needed a dlc to do that. In vanilla he was just a jerk to everyone who did not agree with him on everything. On his plans: well getting rid of the veil is certainly a major event, but indeed what about those elves jerks he imprisoned in the fade to begin with? Even if they are insane that might even make things worse, since crazy people are hard to predict. It is not just that the Qunari are mad at Solas, they despise magic to begin with. So letting loose some super powerfull mages sounds like something they would have a major problem with. At the very least I hope they give more background to the character you are playing. Allmost all the way through Inquisition I was thinking: "So... the dude(ette) I am playing, who even is that?" It makes it harder to roleplay, since it does not in any porvide a perspective resulting from upbringing like we had in Origins
AGREE WITH THIS. I didnt play the DLC in 2015 after finishing the main game. I just completed the DLC and things are totally different now. That was an EA move bioware, to not include the ending without paid DLC.
He said he has a plan for dealing with the Evanuris. Of course, his plan for Corypheus was originally for the idiot to die in the Veilsplosion, so I don't count on him not royally fucking that up either.
Well - luckily - and I really regret not having ability to tell Solas (when he told he "Had plans" to deal with Enavuris after he takes down the Veil) - that Elves in general, and well - he in particular - completly suck at planning things. especially it seems to me elves in Dragon age have a cultural blindspot of not being able to imagine what can go wrong with their plans in the future... like its simply out of their culture to plan for contingencies.
I'm gonna save the details for my own video, but if you guys go back to Dragon Age Origins there is a hint on a certain group that one day might get out of control (and that surprisingly is strongly connected to elven culture). People who read codex entries very carefully know what group I mean :) ! This group is very likely to support Solas in DA4.
My theory on Solas’ plan is that he’ll destroy the world (resetting it undertale style almost) with the evanuris trapped in this one. Thereby he will have outplayed them
Can someone explain how humans (and dwarves and *Qunari*) were living before the Veil? I still can't wrap my head around it. I can see the elves living in a world surrounded by magic and no barrier to spirits, but what would the other races have done? And why don't the other races have any memory of such a time?
I can't say how it worked but the other races do have a memory of it but it is twisted into whatever servers the agenda at the time. Like how the Chantry says the maker created the fade but then its possible that the other races didn't exist until the fade was created since in the Elven history it's said that elves lost their immortality once they made contact with humans we know they lost their immortal actually when the fade was created.
Humans weren't on Thedas when the Veil was created and they didn't appear until shortly afterwards when the elves had mainly destoryed themselves. Qunari didn't exist until likely many centuries later as some sort of creation by Tevinter. The only ones that would remember is the Dwarves as they were know to be on Thedas, but much of their knowledge was likely lost when the Titans fell and the Blights pushed them back to Orzammar.
I don't disagree with your timeline. However, humans may not have been on the continent, but they had to come from somewhere. And I don't see how the Veil or lack thereof could be localized, assuming Thedas is set on an actual spheroid planet. Maybe there was some kind of intersection of worlds that introduced humans into the mix. "The Old Kingdom" trilogy by Garth Nix is set in a world where a magical and a mundane world intersect with each other. I think the history of The Witcher has a similar occurrence. BTW, I agree that the Qunari were probably some kind of magical experiment. My guess is mixing elves with dragon blood. They have pointed ears like elves, and Iron Bull says they believe they have dragon blood. Bet we find out in the next game.
All antagonists against all protagonists? Man. The thing you are saying is called a "Orgy" and like Zevran says - the more the merrier. That would be awesome. I hope we get there.
hi! Fem/Elf here! of course i romanced the egghead and i was a little disappointed that our love did not have a happy ending :'( It would have been pure joy to my heart if he took quizzy with him so we could change the world together. Sadly that did not happend.. I would not mind to continue playing as the inquisitor or at least have her in my party. Depending on the choice made in trespasser she would be with me or against me (Love for Solas is too strong). I think that he could succeed at destroying the veil and the whole unleasing the blight? yes it would not be impossible, maybe we'll play as a grey warden, depending on if you banished them or not. SO MANY POSABILITIES!
I think I'm some of the images anyways that the Titans and the Old God's fought. I think the old God's may be what is keeping the Titans asleep. When they are destroyed the Titans will awaken (also the elven Pantheon fought the Titans) this is confirmed sort of in the DLC and you see what looks like an elf fighting a Titan (I forget where, I think in the deep roads)
I'm not sure what's going to happen in the next DA game. Though it could depends on our actions in Inquisition where your Inquisitor could be friends/enemies/in a romantic relationship with Solas. That, and I hope that they do a ten-year anniversary type thing for DAO that includes all dlc and Awakening.
Where did the last battle in the video take place? It's been a while since I've played DA:I. At first I thought it's multiplayer but I saw those are the SP companions... I remember there was a mansion in the Emerald Graves where you fight vs never-ending respawning corpses and vs an Arcane Horror in the end, it looks like this place but I don't remember fighting vs 2 or 3 Arcane Horrors there... Besides, I think the 4th game will be more interesting if the veil was ripped apart in the beginning actually.
some villains may return from death & help the MC like Knight commander for example + ppl the previous MC's had to kill to reach hes or hers coal, that scenario comes if vale gets destroyed, all out war, they come for redemption one last time from death but if they want to end the series with next game then MC will be able to stop solas in time, hes last boss don't forget Morrigans god child :)
So let me get this straight, is the Veil the bridge between the Fade and reality? If the Veil is destroyed and that means everything from the Fade will appear in reality, doesn’t that mean Corypheus will be back since the Inquisitor banished him there?
Do you guys think that Solas will succeed in his attempts to destroy the very veil, leaving Thedas in ruins, potentially waking two blights? Let's discuss!
try to guess how ar his spies
I think he will succeed but not entirely, destroying thedas partly and leading to a new war of old Evanuris vs rest of thedas.
I think it will backfire and the other gods will escape and begin to unleash their wraith to retake the world
More importantly: How do the spirits feel about all of this?
Solas wasn't keen on time travel magic though.
He's out for his own power and has always had been in his lore.
it was also mentioned in that trip to the future in a note that the breach was the catalyst and it wasn't possible to travel outside of the period of it's existence, as alexius couldn't get the magic to work when attempting to travel to before the breach explosion
dianna k
Halfway true.
Jason Smith Why can't he be this powerful when I'm fighting dragons. He gets one shotted after the dragons burn out his shields :(
Storm Creator yes but cool if let choose help or stop him.
Gordon lol.....ikr....and his ai is so shitty...mofo walks in the line of fire
Gordon Well he's obviously keeping his true powers hidden.
I'm no fan of Tevinter, but I'd side with Archdemons over the Qun
Good boy! So would i!
@@Shadowhunterbg seems even a darkspawn dislikes a blight
@@brandonvandijk5736 No, i said that it's a good thing to side with the Archdemon. :P
@@Shadowhunterbg
Foul dark spawn don't get ahead of yourself. The wardens will stop you, or you know maybe just one or two wardens with an aray of allies at their back.
I actually really liked playing as a Tal-Vashoth so it'll suck not being able to play as one. Im only expecting Elves Humans and maybe Dwarves
I think there's going to be more drama with the wardens as well. It mentioned briefly in the epilogue that communications with Weisshaupt had stopped.
I don't know about Falon Din, Solas was pretty specific on the crap he pulled as for his brother well...
Ah but Solas is the trickster and has his own axe to grind
Tracy Boyall Solas seems more trickster in the sense he doesn't tell you more about himself nor do I think he has any reason to lie especially when one upping others in their knowledge of elven lore. If Falon Din did inspire more sacrfices in his name across the empire than he's monster beyond imagining and if Dirthamen is in fact is reflection then he may not be any better either.
That whole shadow/reflection quote could equally mean they were bitter enemies.
*cough* Abelas companion *cough*
Melissa Stone He served Mythal
Mabari companion. I miss my mabari ):
I hope solas brings the veil down. It would be sooo cool to see the elven pantheon and everything else. TEAM SOLAS!!!!
I just want blood magic back...
The "Solas Why! Age"
Re playing through all the DA and I hear Merrill say "How did sundermount get its name, its not Elven is it?."
I'm here just thinking to myself.... Sundermount... sunder.... sunder the fade.......... noooo it can't be...
Quick check on DAwiki.
(Sundermount is the tallest mountain of Vimmark and has a fearsome
reputation. Legend says it was the site of a vicious battle where the
ancient Tevinter and the elves of Arlathan unleashed horrors into the waking world.)
Or can it...
I just hope Dragon Age continues, after the _Dragon Age_ ... either with prequels or sequels taking place in the next age.
I completely forgot that she took the old soul. Ooh. It's about. To go. Down.
I believe Solas is the Maker. Can't wait for the chantry to realize they worship an Elf, who doesn't want to be a god.
IginaKay didn’t the maker come after the elven empire?
Interesting theory
I'll help Solas destroy veil as we raise our beautiful egg headed babies together.
Nick V Connection? They are obviously the same!
Nick V You should count 2 Old
Gods that are missing. Guess who they are, Solas and Mythal! :)
Love the Dragon Age coverage! Been doing the same with CC. Keep it up.
Thanks for watching! And enjoying! :3
I want Solas to win.
you and my both
I hope he FAILS!
Me too! I wish i could have made my inquisitor help him and made sure he knew he had my inquisitors support
Zack Thoreson you want all the races to die and leave for the elves you know that not gonna happen.
me too!
I fully support Solas in his plan to restore the world. People say he is trying to destroy the world, but he is actually trying to fix it.
Ellie The elves suffered too much. I want them to finally have a place they could call home.
Ellie yeah trying kill everybody so he could appease the old elves yeah not on my watch I like it how you would betray humanity for the other race.
The currently born elves would likely suffer in the aftermath.
This has potential to be an Epic game! I want to see some of our old party mates!
love you jackdaw - keep 'em coming!
Yes - OMG Yes - a war against the Maker!! Sign me up!! Now THIS is a story I could die for.
Thank you for these videos!
If the old gods were awakened by the loss of the veil then that wouldn't be a Blight, because they woudn't rise corrupted by the Darkspawn.
I remeber hearing that Solas's people are actually the Spirits that you encounter. And they were ripped from their bodys when the fade was created
But the so-called "Golden City" is actually the great city of Arlathan right? Soooo that would make Solas is the maker!
Curios. Cat
Correcta mundo.
I dont know why but thats what it appears to be
Whats even more intersting is that the creation of the veil is what caused humans to become in existence. If you pay attention all their history stops with the veil. They have NO history before it, and this is actually mentioned in the ingame books.
Huge blow for "maker" and the chantry
The next dragon age has a looooot of content to offer that I'm eager to delve into
What if we have to play as an elf helping Solas in the next game
I hope the Architect returns in the next game, or that we see at least one of the other Magisters. As for new blights, if you spare the Architect in Awakening he severs the Darkspawn connection to The Old Gods.
I just... Need to know what happens to Flemeth. She can't be gone. You don't kill Flemeth, she always comes back. Always.
I'm SO EXCITED to see what happens when the veil is destroyed. I think it is inevitable at this point - will be VERY disappointed if Solas does not achieve this in the next game.
after all the things the humans have done to the elves i feel like joining solas
For the elven glory!
(we learn that in Temple of Mythal)
yes there was exalted march on the Dales - elves who sat out the Blight...
so... really - humans did not do that much to the elves in general.
Just Enavuris murdering Titans for their lyrium was in essence a genocide. Against both Titans and dwarves..
great video mate,I totally agree !!!!
I like your videos, but thank you for covering the topic I consider most important finally
Your welcome!
True...but Solas still needs to be dealt with. His issues could be part of the ordeal in the next game instead of the sole problem.
That could happen. The next character doesn't have to be part of the inqusition so he/she doesn't have the target of bringing down Solas. there is a big difference between Corypheus and Solas:
Corypheus thought he would be right.
Two blights at once....dear god.
Hehehehe that's the hope :D
There are two old gods but that doesn't mean that they will get infected by the blight. There is a good chance that maybe,if the other orb is also lost that Solas might steal the power of the old gods to give him enough power to tear down the veil. Also, lets not forget about Sandal...he definitely has an old god soul in him...or maybe the soul of a titan? Maybe he will be brought back and have a major role in the next game or maybe Valta will play a major role. We might be seeing more of the titans or of those whom are connected to them. After all, isn't it best to use an ancient powerful being to stop another one?
Interesting theory about Sten but since they seem to change the look of the Qunari every game he wouldn't look like the sten we know
I think the ending might be the same as Mass Effect. In that we might get a choice whether to 1) Let Solas take down the veil, 2) stop Solas from taking down the Veil and 3) Your own choice of whatever i think.
I missed you Jackdaw
Thanks man :3
How great will it be to play a mage in Tevinter!! Hopefully there's a bloodmage specialization.
He thinks to tear down the veil, I believe.
What about joining Solas? My inquisitor would've
I want a dragon age game that takes place before the veil but solas makes the veil in Middle of the game
Do you think Samson or Alexius or the people that the Inquisitor judge are going to be up in Dragon Age 4
Geraduss flemeth took the soul it’s gone
I want to join Solas thou. I would love to help him reset the world. Hope this can be a choice.
I feel like Fenris is gonna show up and say fuck you to Solas and rip his heart out. Even though he is one of the most hated companions.
I hardly hear about Fenris being one of the most hated, he's probably one of the most favorites not to mention he's a favorite for romancing.
Fenris would totally be down with Solas. Solas is anti slavery pro elf. I bet Solas would recruit him along with Merril.
One day the magic return all of it and all will see him for what he is. Sounds like to me him tearing down the veil isnt even a debatable subject.
I'm pretty sure that the eleven gods turned themselves into dragons and became the gods of the tavinter who are now the archdeamons.
every time the guy from the dlc is the villain of the next game.
Whatever happens I just want my inquisitor to have a happy ending w Solas bc I think we need that
My heart goes out to u :(
ŁėointhėStårs mine as well, I’ve grown to love him dearly
I think the inquisitor will need another person with as much power as Solas (your new protagonist) like some kind of strange gone wrong experiment - as they are in Tevinter, magic and all. Who knows, just someone with alot of power(like a god). But that depends on if you want him dead or trying to stop him either way the inquisitor needs a powerful person, -your character in DA4. I dunno it's just an idea
Edit : i can just imagine the opening scene to your character, in a fight and using his/her powers and word spreads of this power, which interested the inquisitor and asked your powerful, god like, strange character to help them destroy or save Solas.
Maybe someone originally intended to be a weapon against Qunari or something like that, but I like the idea of Tevinter's experiment as our new hero. But It would not work with having several Origin stories, which is what I really want back in DA4.
well in DAO it worked, any Origin Story kinda ended in the same situation (you beeing recruited by the wardens)
The character shouldn't start that powerful, of course.
I wanna romance Varic❤❤❤
Little Mama Kasi Oh trust me your not the only one
(Sigh) the chest hair
I know, the shorty love must be given, Varic deserves some one special ❤❤❤
Little Mama Kasi I wished my Trevelyan could romance him 💖
Someone special who is NOT Bianca...that dwarf chick is a bitch!
but she will cut yut your eyes out and feed them to you without you noticing it, ... if you are lucky
I hope they make more Dragon Age games
I'm wondering if we are getting an explanation for the old gods and the blight.
Whatever his plan is I think we can all agree that it will backfire... horribly.
The elves are 0 for 2 in their history with fighting humans. I can't believe any of them wanna go a third time
Well - luckily - and I really regret not having ability to tell Solas (when he told he "Had plans" to deal with Enavuris after he takes down the Veil) - that Elves in general, and well - he in particular - completly suck at planning things.
especially it seems to me elves in Dragon age have a cultural blindspot of not being able to imagine what can go wrong with their plans in the future...
like its simply out of their culture to plan for contingencies.
Solas just wants to Make Elvenkind Great Again.
Thereby he will have outplayed them
Wait what a set? When was this? How did I miss that?
Scholars in the universe believe that humans came from Par Vollen
All antagonists against all protagonists? Man. The thing you are saying is called a "Orgy" and like Zevran says - the more the merrier.
That would be awesome. I hope we get there.
I just Cullen to be safe '-'
Sun Bro litarally same ;-;
T'was from an area through an Eluvian in the Trespasser DLC for Dragon Age Inqy :3
Ohhhhh thx now I remember the fight. One of the more annoying ones. There was a similar one with Revenants, right?
some villains may return from death & help the MC like Knight commander for example + ppl the previous MC's had to kill to reach hes or hers coal, that scenario comes if vale gets destroyed, all out war, they come for redemption one last time from death
but if they want to end the series with next game then MC will be able to stop solas in time, hes last boss
don't forget Morrigans god child :)
I think there is a typo in the title, it should read "scheme."
So let me get this straight, is the Veil the bridge between the Fade and reality? If the Veil is destroyed and that means everything from the Fade will appear in reality, doesn’t that mean Corypheus will be back since the Inquisitor banished him there?
i think elves will be against solas, their history books + they will misunderstand whats restoring the old... means thinking he brings slavery back
