Former combatant ,Trainer and student of the craft ad well coach-- that "hop" is actually called the Cus D'Amato "Shift". There is a part where Tyson did "hop" so to speak but that isn't what's shown in this footage. We've all seen the footage where Kevin Rooney had Mike slipping side to side while moving forward.....he did it about 10 or so times...before getting to the end of the room/ring and then finally jumping or "hopping," to the ONE side-- CLEARING his whole body from the center line altogether. Hope this helps bro!👊🏿
One fundamental error in this particular training method is. The style they are emulating was designed by Cus for Mike if you look at Joe Hadley or Torres and Paterson they all had different versions of the peek a boo. Depending on the nature qualities and weaknesses of the fighter the style is costumed to fit.
Thanks for your option. Hint: When you reach the highest levels of teaching and understanding concepts and craft, you create your own version through decades of schooling. Our version is not their version what so ever. Each athlete develops accordingly. There will never be another who uses the peekaboo the way the athletic Tyson did. There are many smoother methods and that’s what we teach. Have a great day
I feel u on that I fw this style n tryna perfect it but I’m 5’8 158 not a power puncher but I try to emulate Mike when I should be looking at smaller guys who use the style
Coach. What do.u thing . Who would .have won the fight i their prime Mike or Lewis.? As we no they have fought when mike was far away from his best ...
Coach Bradley, I know that boxing has a great deal of conditioning involved in it. Are there a core group of training drills that 'specifically' condition and prepare the body to use peek-a-boo properly? The stresses and strains of the style, including how much torque it generates, would seem to require some specific strengthening approaches for best results. What are the best exercises for developing the needed physical strength to move in peek-a-boo style?
You don't use exercises, it takes training systems to acquire proper conditioning. Our peek-A-BOO system isn't designed like the great Cus D' Amato's style. We produced PEEKABOO slick fighter style. Smooth transitions and angles. Not a-lot of burst and explosive moves. Any Boxer can execute the science of peekaboo if you understand the science. Hopefully this gives you more insight. Try systematic conditioning programs. If you don't know where to find one, email us and we can show you a sample. Thanks again champ. Great question ....
Superb stuff...Thank you coach👍🏻
Absolutely 👍🏽👍🏽
