Your skin is so beautiful and smooth that pretty much every foundation looks good on you. Not the case for me, texture and lines makes foundation difficult, but redness makes it necessary.
Carrie Beth That’s so true. Even Elle’s flawless skin is not only because of her best possible skin care, but botox too... And just skin care esp. for more mature skin can be very pricey, not to mention all treatments/procedures almost all beauty gurus do... I love Korean skin care because of it works very well, but doesn’t cost fortune 😘

Oily here and this foundation is awesome!! I’ve actually set it with some Bare Minerals powder foundation for extra coverage at a night out event and it looked great. I use either Becca Backlight primer or Milani glow one under and works well with both. I think I’ve used Hourglass too with good luck. It’s definitely a keeper!!!! Thank you, Elle!!!
Elle, I think you would love the new NYX Born to Glow Foundation. It's absolutely gorgeous, especially for dry skin. It wears like a dream. Great, especially for the colder months. Your skin looks incredible. I'm a bit leery of a matte foundation for my super dry skin. It certainly works for you❣❤

I have had this foundation for awhile and it's one of my absolute favorites... I love it. I love maybelline superstay 24hr and I love the l'oreal infallible pro matte....even though I'm 43... I feel like the matte foundations hide more of my lines and wrinkles and pores... you are right when you say it's about the prep work.
Next time I need a drug store foundation, I'll give this one a try. I've got Loreal right now and two high end so I don't need it now but saved this video for later! You look great (the foundation looks amazing) and I hope you and Gray are doing better! 😊♥️

I've used MAC full coverage for years which does the trick, but since I've been using a much lighter liquid foundation over the past couple of summers, I've found it's much nicer letting the skin breathe. I have not tried that one, but have tried so many foundations high and low price point and my fave by far is Believe Beauty foundation for $5 at Dollar General. You have to try it to believe it!!! FYI... I have combo skin with texture and large pores.
I bought my 2nd bottle yesterday! Let me preface this with - I NEVER buy drugstore foundation. NEVER. I have a really hard time finding a color match for my skin. This caught my eye a couple months ago while in Target and I did an impulse buy. When I tried it, my first thought was I had wasted my money once again. Within minutes it had settled and was the perfect color for me. The only time I set this foundation is I have chosen to use a concealer, and then only where I put concealer. It doesn't settle into my fine lines, it feels light weight, never cakey. Yet I get full coverage out of it. Because it is matte, I will sometimes put Dr. Brandt's Luminizer Primer around the perimeter (trick I learned from you) of my face. It seems to work well with this product. I still love my Dior backstage, however, this has fast become a new favorite for me.

Wait I'm confused, I thought this was gonna be about the new(ish) NYX Born To Glow foundation for a second. The CSWS was released *last* summer 2018, followed by a small line of other base products like concealer, powder, primer, etc. It's super matte finish was also way in style last year, but it was meant to work for everyone... So I picked it up against my dewier judgment ($14 full price) and now it sits in a drawer making me frustrated, because the shade match is nice and I'm a tough match, but the finish is chalky AF. I've tried different moisturizers, primers, dewy mixers, foundation mixtures, and nothing takes away the chalkboard face. I have combo/dry skin with some fine lines (39yo) and visible pores, so if you're similarly complected and made this foundation look more human skin than porcelain doll share your secrets with me pretty please!?
Lee Benning hi I really recommend using a gentle exfoliant like lactic acid to help with texture and wearing a face oil under foundation as well as a hydrating face spray under and on top 💕

What about if we use powder to blur pores, I have to use powder to blur out my potholes I’m a twist of the norm . I have normal leaning dry but have really bad texture and extremely large pores.
This looks really promising! How do you think it compares to the L’Oreal fresh wear as far as the skin-like finish goes? That stuff is bulletproof for me and even lasts through chair massages without smudging, but it is so fragranced that I can barely stand applying it. If this is just as good with no fragrance, I will be hustling off to Target!
I have dry skin and this NYX is NOT a dupe for the ABH foundation. The ABH foundation is hydrating and beautiful, the NYX is dry and crusty. They are nothing alike, in my opinion. But I enjoy hearing what other people think too ❤
I have dry, dehydrated mature skin and I hesitate to try a matte foundation, but still haven't found an affordable foundation that really works. This looks so great on you. Will this work for me? If so how do I prep my skin to handle this? Just a side note - I have tried Physicians Formula Healthy Foundation and it makes my skin look dry (which there have been so many recommendations for this for my skin type). Okay - watched until the end of the video and it sounds like this wouldn't work for me. Any affordable suggestions? I don't typically like a matt finish anyway.
it is worth a shot, make sure you can return it if it doesn't work. As stated in the video use a great hydrating moisturizer and then a hydrating prime or illuminating primer. less is more with this foundation xo
Diane Greiner ponds dry skin cream is great for under makeup as well as using a little bit of face oil under , as a primer. And a nice hydrating spray right before going in with the foundation I like the pixi glow spray ! Definitely helped me when my skin was very very dry

is it you who has a website that gives you foundation comparables? in other words, if you are a certain shade in Estee Lauder....the chart will show a comparable color in another product/brand line? I remember reading about it but I cannot remember which UA-camr had it.
Elle: your statement that you can't feel this foundation on your skin puzzles me. I mean, can you give an example of what some foundations feel like that makes you aware they're on your face? Once I put on foundation, oncealer, blush, etc. and go about my day, I don't think about my makeup, so I'm not aware of what's on my face.
I loved the Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation at first but it had awful flashback. I looked like a ghost next to my aunt and mom who are both paler than I am. Which was weird because it oxidized on me a little bit and was a bit darker than my natural skin tone.

it is worth a shot, make sure you can return it if it doesn't work. As stated in the video use a great hydrating moisturizer and then a hydrating prime or illuminating primer. less is more with this foundation xo

Diane Greiner ponds dry skin cream is great for under makeup as well as using a little bit of face oil under , as a primer. And a nice hydrating spray right before going in with the foundation I like the pixi glow spray ! Definitely helped me when my skin was very very dry

is it you who has a website that gives you foundation comparables? in other words, if you are a certain shade in Estee Lauder....the chart will show a comparable color in another product/brand line? I remember reading about it but I cannot remember which UA-camr had it.

Elle: your statement that you can't feel this foundation on your skin puzzles me. I mean, can you give an example of what some foundations feel like that makes you aware they're on your face? Once I put on foundation, oncealer, blush, etc. and go about my day, I don't think about my makeup, so I'm not aware of what's on my face.
You never had a foundation that just felt heavy on on your face or uncomfortable?

it is a feeling of heaviness or almost suffocation on the face that is what I mean by heavy feeling. this foundation didn't do that

I loved the Can’t Stop Won’t Stop foundation at first but it had awful flashback. I looked like a ghost next to my aunt and mom who are both paler than I am. Which was weird because it oxidized on me a little bit and was a bit darker than my natural skin tone.
I didn't like this makeup. I have oily combo skin. It settled in my lines making my face look more creapy than it is.
