Are your Kontakt libraries taking forever to load? If you are a Windows user, this could be a possible solution for you. This video will take you through the steps to understand how Windows Defender could be at the bottom of your loading issues.
Adding @NativeInstruments KONTAKT and your content folders to Windows Defender EXCLUSIONS will drastically improve your load times.

I decided to do the same with the following directory paths
Studio One
VST3
VST
and all presets folder locations for each of my plugins. Made a world of difference!

I tried the hack and it made a WORLD DIFFERENCE ! Especially for the non Kontakt Player libraries, they now load so fast.

@@PraiseTracks You have no idea, I excluded some of my non Kontakt Player libraries from my Template because of the horrific loading times and I had no idea why this issue happened. But now, after trying your hack, I enjoy playing and composing with them again ! 🙌 Again, thank you !

But what is also important, makes a batch resave for each library if it is new or the folder has been changed. This significantly reduces the loading time of the presets👍
Find the settings faster by clicking the 'start' button and typing 'virus' and what you want should pop up as an option.
I used to be able to load any Kontakt library patch smoothly by batch re-saving. However, I found that it doesn’t work for a library that requires the full version of Kontakt, and guessed that would be the limit of my HDD speed since it contains a huge number of NCW files.
So I added NCW and NKI to the exclusion list, referring to this video, and then a patch that used to take 50 seconds to load loaded in 5 seconds. In other words, your information has cut down my wasted time by 1/10. I can’t thank you enough!
This is a great performance improvement technique.
I'm in Windows 7 but will try this in a few days.

Great advice, DPC latency checker is also a great tool for measuring how well your system performs on a micro-second basis. Certain motherboards perform better than others, by a great margin.
Agreed, DPC is a great troubleshooting tool to help sort out bottlenecks in your setup. I might need to bring it out and see how my system is really performing.

Free tip for you Simeon, you have 3 hard drives almost full, ssds need always 10% of the drive size free so it can perform the advertised speeds, if not the speed will drop considerably, even if your drives are not ssds they should never be in the red, kind regards

Particularly if you’ve never heard of it, take a look at Deskew Technologies’ Gig Performer. Just a satisfied user, but it may radically change how you look at using the standalone hosts like KONTAKT with predictive loading of your next setup. So instead of reducing load time, it multitasks preloading whatever you have set up next for instant usage. Way better for live usage. Anyone who uses soft (or any MIDI) synths live really needs to look seriously at Gig Performer.

You should always batch re-save every new library you get, it makes a big difference in loading times
I've tried this many times with certain libraries that don't appear on the library tab in Kontakt, and it's never worked (Windows 10)
@@JuanAMatos-zx4ub oh, I've never had a problem with it, just select the folder and it goes through the folders and .nki's automatically and after that it knows the correct paths for everything
I don’t dare to go that because it says that after doing that it makes it so libraries will not work in other kontakt libraries anymore permanently aswell as other changes . Any insight about that ? Thanks
@@AdamFraserTv Do that with the Kontakt version you're using the library with, it should not break anything, at least I've never broken anything by batch resaving, it just saves lots of time.

BTW, my laptop is pretty fast running Win 10.
It takes about 32 seconds from the time I click to reboot to my desktop again..
Kontakt only took about 7 seconds to load itself, and a hefty Multi like Metropolis 4's Power Winds Legato only took a fraction shy of 2-seconds to load!

hi Simeon,didnt know that it would make that much difference in speed,wow,much faster,however,these files are now open for malware injection,hackers can use this backdoor to enter your system,they also have bots that search for weaknesses on your system,so if they find your exclusions they can use that (thats why javascript was so vulnerable),just saying,i only use batch re-save and leave the rest as is,cheers mate

I have few issues in Kontakt 7.10 while loading 1). When load two deferant library over write previoudly loaded library .
2)Unable assign different midi channels to library like LASS. On multiple library loading ..
3) Project Sam Cinematic guitar could not be loaded properly .

If not already mentioned, another thing that can be helpful for sample loading and playback is to disable indexing of the sample folders.

@@stephon972 In Windows, right click on the drive or folder, choose Properties, and remove the check from "Allow contents to be indexed."
It loads so fast now because it has already scanned everything once. But it is true that other files will already load faster thanks to these exclusions.
Not necessarily. I have some libraries that always took 2-3 minutes to load, which now load in 10 seconds or less. This was a godsend to me haha
i need help regarding my kontakt 6/7 my libraries changes its position while i organise and then restart kontakt like all my piano lib i keep them on top but when i restart my logic pro x it changes it position and i have organise them again which is hectic everytime any help please let me know
Bro, why does my samples get stuck in kontakt? I would be playing and the bass would just keep going until i switch bass or hit the start button. It's on my other channel, how I play. I might be overloading ram.
So a few questions to see how so can help:
Do you have any video example you could share? What library is this happening with?
Does it happen every time or just sometimes?
So a note hanging on could be MIDI related and Kontakt is no getting a note off message.
When you say “hit the start button”, do you mean starting playback on your DAW?

Its taking me 3+ hours trying to download a 18gb library i also download Warzone at 4gb mark and at 6gb mark the game downloaded (50gb)
Unfortunately this did not work at all for me. I use Komplete Kontrol and not Kontakt much but I excluded both along with my DAW, some file types, and folders..Load times appear to be the same....too long. My machine has plenty of resources..win10 pro....I;m going to exclude .vst extensions and see what that does and call it a day.
Is it work with bitdefender ?
Yes, you would just have to add the file extensions or the Kontakt application to the EXCLUSIONS list in Bitdefender.
