Rob's voice is absolutely perfect for this song with his smooth, soulful voice. Adam beatboxing is on point & Chance holding down the bass is amazing. Great reaction to an oldie & goodie song.
I think its time for Misty Mountains - Peter Hollens feat. Tim Foust and then follow it up with Home Free cover of Mayday. For the best reaction I would suggest doing these back to back.
What I love about Home Free .. no matter the song, it sounds like you are hearing it for the first time. I have a hard time listening to the originals because I want the song to sound like Home Free! 😄Seriously love these guys. So glad you found them!! Loving all your reactions, too!!

I have listened every day for six years, been to six live shows and cannot wait for the next one to get out here to Portland OR area again!! They are incredible. I listen every night, have watched most all of the live full shows on UA-cam many times. They just make me happy! Every guy has many songs where they are the lead and shine. They are so different but all trained and know how to blend like no other! Thanks so much for your reactions and enjoying the journey with us of Home Free! So many more to watch. I discovered HF Christmas 2020, they helped me though my first Christmas without my father. He would love them!
Austin is probably the lead singer but everyone gets a chance to sing in many songs. Robb (guy with dark beard) is second tenor. Tim of course is the deep base however Adam Chance can get quite low and covers for Tim at times. The beat boxer does sing in some tunes such as "How Great Thou Art" but shares beat boxing with the two bases backing him up on occasion. Look up Adam Rupp's drum solo on YT. worth reviewing.
I wouldn't say they have a lead singer, because they switch off who leads a song too much and I think it'd be confusing to say they have a lead singer when the leads get sung by so many different members of the band depending on the song. And whenever you hear Tim singing lead, Chance is the one doing bass. I agree on the drum solo suggestion and would recommend you find a recent one, not just the most popular one as it's quite old at this point and he's gotten a lot better since then.
They do not have a lead singer. They each try the new songs out to see who's voice is better for the arrangement. In order of alumni - Adam Rupp, beatboxer and Tenor, founding member. Rob Lundquist, Tenor. Tim Foust, Basso profundo to Tenor. Austin Brown, high Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone Bass.
and then you have "Mayday" which will turn your expectations on their head.

Adam we welcome you as an official Home Fry !! Pretty good for a bunch of country guy. No, Rob is not the lead....there is no lead they actually pick the lead democratically....each sings it on a track and then they vote for the lead. They eventually come to a mutual agreement. This is one of my favorites !!! Adam do an original next, DIVE BAR SAINTS is an amazing song written by a friend of theirs, a very respected Nashville writer Arliss Allbritton.

You need to see Homefree vs Filharmonic from back before they were famous. It is FANTASTIC
To hear Home Free at their best react to their new song out. One Man Band. It showcases ALL of them and their amazing harmonies.
They have over 100 video's out there and all have had leads.
You need to listen to their originals too.
That is both Tim and Chance doing that bass harmonies..they trade back and forth before and after Tim's solo. They trade off so seamlessly its really hard to hear the difference at all. Looking forward to your next ones. So many to choose from.
When they were on the Sing-Off in 2013, Shawn Stockman of B2M was one of the judges. He loved them! (They won, BTW.) I think they may have done this cover as kind of a salute to him. I really like your reactions! Keep up the good work.

In an acapella group there normally isn't really a "main" singer. Since everyone is doing things with their voices sometimes your voice needs a break so you split up the duties. Austin and Rob do more of the leads but Tim and Chance take some too.

Austin mostly sings lead - High tenor, then Rob Mid tenor, then Tim* BASS, BARITONE & mid tenor ( same for Newest member Adam Chance) Adam is singing more up front has a couple solo leads. Adam Rupp is the Beat boxer - but mid tenor when softer, traditional (HYMNS) are the content).
Here's a few of the Home Free essentials to check out: Butts Remix, All About the Bass, Hillbilly Bone, and When a Man Loves a Woman. Add in a dash of gospel with How Great Thou Art. Then an original or two like Snow Globe, Dive Bar Saints, and Champaign Taste. After listening to all those, and only after all those, if you want your mind blown, check out Mayday.
If you want to hear more of Tim's deep, deep voice, you MUST listen to him and Peter Hollins sing Misty Mountain.
You would love their cover of "Mayday" by Cam! Some nice surprises on it!
They also have quite a few originals that Tim and Austin have written. But yes, when they do a cover they do it well and many times I like their cover better than the original. I am enjoying your reactions, keep up the great work !!!
Did you notice that this one isn't really a cappella? Listen carefully during the choruses: there's an organ pad back there.

If you really want to hear some low notes watch their Sold! video. Tim hits an A0 in the chorus. It's basically just a growl. Lol

They all have amazing voices! Sometimes they know who is best suited to the song and sometimes they each sing lead and decide who did it best.
Fun songs! "Champagne Taste On a Beer Budget," "Butts Remix," and "All About that Bass." The last song has an outtake video that is great!!!

There is no one main singer in Home Free. Austin and Tim get featured _slightly_ more often than the others but they all take turns singing lead. Except of course Adam Rupp. I've heard that he's oddly shy about non-percussion singing and he only actually sings in a couple of their many videos. From what I've heard, he _doesn't like_ the spotlight and could have it if he wanted it. I also feel I should mention that he's a founding member. If he wanted it he'd get it.

I love Home Free, each and every one of them can be the lead. They take turns and sometimes each showcases one song. They are so talented. The beatbox, Adam has won 2 or 3 world championships for what he does best, Beatboxing. Occasionally he sings when no beatboxing needed. Which isn’t often. I hope you continue to react to more H F.
