k1 soft berg is the way to go! perfect approach disc, i only forehand w/ it as well. the k1 soft plastic is a lifesaver bc it won’t bounce weird when it lands, i hated how the berg felt on forehand at first but i just kept practicing with it n now its a staple in the bag 💯
I only use my berg on downhill teeshots or upshots where a zone is too beefy. Great for short straight forehands IMO. In my experience the berg doesn't like overpowered throws, but works great for smooth flicks or upto 70% backhands
The thing with the Berg is for someone who’s not an elite level inside/outside the circle, that disc has saved me so many strokes because I can chip forehand it and land it within 15’ very consistently. Rarely do I choose to backhand it. I only bag a soft berg.
I don't think of a Berg as a throwing disc. It throws shorter than my normal throwing putter. I have it in my bag full-time even though I might not even take it out once per round. It has a very specific use -- when behind the basket is a cliff or other nasty backdrop and I need it to land and just sit down, I call on the Berg.
If the selling point of a disc is that it doesn't fly, it's not for me. And I throw a Pig and Envy for forehand/backhand approaches respectively. It's not like I need all the glide in the world.
I feel like I would park every hole in this course with a Berg. I even bag two Bergs since I’ve beat one in so much it flies straight. Funny how some discs just don’t jive with people. Oh well.
Someone wants views! And a large discussion :P I like the disc and can see it's use clearly, but it's not one of the top 22 molds of mine... so not in the bag :) Also, not 2 fade in shape, but it tells the torque-resistance as with some discs that just go straight on 50 to 300' power. Oh and I'd give it 1,2,0,1, Eric Oakley threw it on hole 6 Ale this summer with great success in distance control and straight flight.

Try some anhyzer chip forehands like the kind where you just want to drop it onto the pin, its such a pretty flight, fun to throw too!

In my opinion, the berg excels at throw-ins from around 200ft and in. You can just give the basked a full run and know the berg won't sail to far past
