Great video! Super pumped to try all this asap. Quick question, i’ve getting the disc to spin more is what gets it really going but in order to get it to spin faster i have to grip it tighter but when i grip it tighter i tense up. Any suggestions?

The past 6 months or so after playing 3-5x a week since finding the sport in 2020, I’ve been able to start throwing to new max distances 500-530 this year for the first time ever. Also for the first time ever, I’m having outer knee pain on my plant foot. I’m 6ft 185 and athletic with good form (not as goood as yours) but I’ve found that overuse/ bad plant foot and weight shift, has caused a slight pain to develop when throwing my hardest. I have been slowing my routine down and, it’s helped with the pain a lot and I can still throw 400- 430 which on majority of disc golf courses that’s all you need. My question is about the plant foot and weigh shifting. What do you focus on in your plant foot and weight distribution that allows you to consistently mash without potentially hurting yourself?

Great video! For those wondering about the hopping X-step, it’s called a vertical brace. If done correctly, it can add a lot of fast rotational power. Good examples of this are Kristin Tattar or Philo Brathwaite. The way Tyler shows it in this video, his weight is back because he is making a point, but if you decide you want to try it, your weight should be centered and over your toes. You hop slightly off of you right foot and almost float over your x step. Then you take advantage of gravity by bracing into and away from the ground letting it rotate your right hip backwards very quickly. (Note…there is still weight in the x step, but not as much as normal)

mint discs lasso is the disc you should have gotten, 3 3 0 2. beadless, feels and looks like a toro/zone. soft flex is $$$

I love my VIP Maiden. It is beadless, pretty shallow, pretty flat top. May be a good one to try if the Reko doesn't work out.

This was such a good comparison video! You threw all the relevant lines and with really good consistency so the comparison was rather fair. Even your observations were spot on based on how the discs seemed to fly on the video. I personally bag a Hybrid Warden for this slot, but the Reko seemed to work really well so no complaints there. You said that you haven't seen anyone throw the Sensei. Just watch a couple of rounds with Anttila on the card and you'll see a ton. His is pretty beat in tho so not the greatest representation of a new Sensei, but he throws some killer lines with it.

S-Line P3x is another sweet disc that's not too overstable. Love the Premium Sensei, the blue ones seems to have no dome. Mine is really flat. Why no Watt?

K3 Hard Reko is a fantastic touch throwing putter for me. It's also great for 50-60ft step putts. Flies straight to slightly understable. Mine is beat up and beat in. The proton pilot is a great straight full power thrower too. It goes farther for me than the Reko due to the glide

The leaning thing is a huge problem for me. I did a bunch of field work today and realized i lean heavy toward my reachback, and then heavily towards my throw. I corrected the leaning towards my reachback (feels like im litterally leaning back towards the target but im actually straight up and down) but i still lean into the throw and idk how to correct that

Tbh this is some of the beat advice to actually lower your score. Like if you have 500ft of distance, and you make bad decisions, you gonna have some 500ft mistakes to deal with.

This is pretty late to be asking, but maybe this will be helpful to others. If you're going to be demonstrating your form, it would be super helpful to see from a side-on/perpendicular angle. Would also love if you replayed the throw a few times. Regardless, good advice I'll try to emulate, so thanks!

Every grace I’ve had is flippy but I throw pretty far so idk if it because of that or the ones I have are just weird

The drive is basically what I though it would be but that Grace might be the flippiest one I've ever seen. All my Graces I've used are super similar stability to a star Wraith. Straight with a little fade at the end when thrown little over 400 feet.

Did I miss any distance comparisons in the video? Like how far were you actually putting these discs out there?
