Thankyou so much. I have never used anything as I was told not to. Took it out today after about a year and it was hard to tredle. I am so glad I found you. Beverly
Hi Tamsin, I hope you're well xx ❣️❣️ This was very interesting and informative video podcast. I can't use a Treadle Wheel but I love to know how things work. Thankyou for sharing the process of how to take care of a Treadle Wheel. Happy Spinning Fibre Friend 🎡🐑🥰 Take care and stay safe and well Love and hugs Jen xxxx ❤️❤️🫂🫂🐈⬛🐈⬛
I've been thinking about getting a Lendrum Complete because they are complete and seem a little more advanced than my current Kiwi 3 which I do love. I like your idea of reusing the drive bands once stretched out, but how do you know the measurement to cut them to? The other question I have is where do you get the specs that you mentioned for attaching the wheel to the main post? I can't find anything on the web addressing what that might be.
For the drive bands, I just cut an inch off before melting it together again. But I've had my wheel for at least 15 years and haven't had to shorten the band yet.
@@bffiberarts Thank you so much for all the info you helped me with. I could only find a link to lendrum in canada and got a "not secure" warning when I tried their site so I figured it was either hacked or the wrong address! ☺
@BarnacleBarbie their site is not maintained. I don't know if they've set up a new site but I found the right combination of words in Google to find the info lol.
Do you have a video explaining what to do with the other drive band? I don't understand that one, nor do I understand the plying flyer, why is it different from the regular ones other than just to ply? By the way, terrific video, thank you.
The plying head needs a longer drive band as the whorls are much larger. You can use the regular drive band but it's going to stretch it out much faster than having a dedicated band for the plying head. The plying head is excellent for making art yarns and super bulky yarns that won't go through the smaller orifice of the regular head. If you're just spinning regular yarns you may never need the plying head, it's just nice to have for the versatility.
Thank You! I've been looking all over and couldn't find anyone as thorough as you. You answered all my questions. Great video!
So glad you found it helpful! The Lendrum is a fantastic wheel.
Very good tutorial, thanks for the detailed explanations and easy-going manner.
Easy going is what I do lol. Glad it was helpful.
I’ll have to show this to my cousin. She’s a new spinner and bought this wheel. Thank you Tamsin.
She's gonna love her Lendrum as she gets to know it!

There's always questions on caring for a Lendrum so I thought it was time to address them as I love this wheel so much. Be well.
Wow, this is super informative. Thanks so much!
You're welcome. Glad it was helpful.
Thank you so much for this video! You have been such a help to me.❤
I'm so glad it helps!
Great video! I don't even own a treadle wheel and I watched the whole video, lol.
Then i guess I did it right lol. I can do the same thing and just watch people do stuff.
Thanks!

I think I found it on the Lendrum site. Let me see if I can find it again for you.
It's 110 inch pounds or 9.1 foot pounds of torque. Use a torque wrench to get it correct.

Again, thanks so much. Now I understand.@@bffiberarts
2:01 I have issues with that clip too. But I am not sure leaving one hanging would work for me. Doesn’t it tangled?
@deborahbush6183 I use a velcro strap to tie it to the back of the wheel. It's out of the way and I have no problems.

I saw that after I wrote. Thanks I’m going to try it. I love my Lendrum DT. Only one I have.
What kind of spray are you using? It sounds like you said white lithium.
Yep. Lithium grease. If you want the spray try automotive section. They use it for electronics and stuff.
Thanks so much.@@bffiberarts
