The last supernova anyone saw, was aoroximately 1500 years ago, when the crab nebula was still a star. Ifnit blows up, itit's close to lightvspeed, but a bit slower. So this video is false.

And why does the star t corona borealis dim for nearly a year before detonation of the infalling hydrogen. Also does the added mass all get blown off or does the white dwarf slowly gain mass as time flows on. The amount of detonated gas might leach down and remain after the detonation or it might lower the white dwarf mass causing a lowering of the white dwarfs mass. My guess is at what temperature the mass explodes creates conditions for capture or removal of material. If the detonation is hot enough then even elements higher than hydrogen might be detonated loosing total mass. It will be interesting to find the highest temperature attained to see if mass is lost or gained during detonation to find at what level of fusion is attained..

@@ravensatanas2373 It would definitely make people appreciate what they have instead of taking it for granted. My grandparents on both sides raised their kids by living off the land, no power, no indoor plumbing, etc. They had horses, cows, chickens, hogs and horse drawn plows. Even when their house was updated with power they still used the wood cooking stove then when their house was updated with indoor plumbing they still used the outhouse and still went outside to the spring for their water. It seemed innovation interfered with a way of life they were use to living.

How can the countdown begin considering we don't even know if it's happened yet or if it happened 100 years ago or 420 yrs ago 680 years ago?
Hell we can't even agree upon the distance and light years it is away from us. Some people claim 450, others claim 530-550, while others claim that it's 600 to 630 to 650 to 700 light years away. All that being said the most consistent updated answers I get are between 630-650 light years. So that means even when we finally find out that Beetlejuice has gone supernova we still have no idea how long ago it took place.
