Your content is outstanding Daniel. Did this same route recently, you captured it beautifully. Time to get over to Tafelberg on the other side of the valley! Another amazing route.
I am so pleased that I found this channel. Thoroughly enjoying watching all your hikes and climbs. I have done most of these routes many years ago and its really great to relive all these memories. Thanks. I first climbed Sneeuberg in the early 90s in October and it actually started snowing when we were on the summit ridge. Been up there a few times since and last time we found a lovely descent route starting down the Citrusdal side swinging around to the north and then east joining the usual route near the hut.
That's kind of you to say, thank you! These kinds of comments mean a lot me, I really love capturing the feeling of these places for others who appreciate them similarly
You never cease to amaze Daniel. From your cinematography, to your editing work. Well done mate. The scenery isn't half bad either. 😉 Hope to go on many more journeys with you guys.
Really appreciate it! That's kind of you to say. I'm sitting on an absolute ton of footage from the best adventures of my life, just slowly working my way through the editing, so there's plenty more to come :)
wow wow just incredible how alive your footage ( and handage ) is. Thanks so much for the dreams re-awakened of that amazing place . On the western approach somewhere is a large rock that sways under your feet once you have landed on it . Someone needs to name it in a profane manner preferably :)
Thank you, I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed it! Capturing the feeling of a place and experience like that is my main motivation in putting these together, so I'm glad to hear it. I remember that specific rock well 😆
Very neatly presented, and that was a bit of a scary place to overnight! But were you even there, Daniel 😉 No talking to the camera in this one, like your usual style
Do you think you can camp on the saddle of Sneeuberg Peak? Did you see any flat ground? On the topographic map it looks flat but not sure what the terrain is like?
@@b1ack_char1ie I imagine I'm responding way too late for it to be helpful, sorry about that. In case you're still interested, my guess would be that it might be possible, we did scope it out, but I can't remember clearly how it looked. There are lots of rocks, so it could be you don't find a flat enough patch. You could always aim to get there early, and if it's no good, continue on to the camping spot we used
@@daniel_johnson_pmbpk Thanks for the reply, yep a bit late. We ended up taking the risk into the unknown. Yes, there was a flat surface on the saddle, not much space, we were three tents, a bit exposed to the wind. Your spot is definitely better.

Thank you! Really appreciate it :). Tafelberg is indeed the biggest gap in my Cederberg hiking, absolutely plan to tick it off sometime 😅
Epic man! The Cederberg is such a beautiful place!
It takes my breath away evertime I visit

@@daniel_johnson_pmbpk Hell Yeah! Can't wait.
Another breathtaking production. I guess this hike was in July to Oct period as its peak summer now
Surprisingly this was actually peak summer! December 2022 - really surprising weather for that time of year

very cool, I am jealous because we have winter and it is not so nice right now, lots of snow and grey.
@@timschleifer3138 thank you! Snow for me is still a novelty, so I wouldn't mind that either 😂 but indeed, it's hard to beat a good summer

Haha indeed 😂 I think I did record a couple of clips talking too the camera, but in the end decided they detracted rather than added to it
