    ❤ I love the idea of a journaling club. I'm also in a joy and happiness reading kick😅 I find the idea incredibly romantic and very journal friendly.

    I have a Sterling Ink A6 planner and a Sterling in B6 for my writing and I love it...I love the 520 pages for my journaling and the size means I can have them both with me. I think I have told you already but I am 59...almost 60 and I just love your channel and your printable subscription...yes I do have a sticker book...one of the spiral ones from jet pens...and yes I cut out my PET tapes and my printables in advance. I have a clear pocket with a zipper I put my printables into...this hobby has always been a part of my life. I have journals from when I was 14 (1978), but after serious depression after being diagnosed with a heart condition and being forced to retire from my practice, which was in its prime after 10 years of hard work as a midwife, this has become my therapy and my self help...nothing works like my notebooks. I feel joy just looking at them...as far as journaling book club I would be interested in non fiction but I really struggle with fiction but I would still listen to and read what others share.

      All your lovely comments make me so happy! I'm very glad that you found my channel and that we get to connect this way! I have since put in an order with Sterling Ink for a B6 notebook and the Weeks sized planner. I'm very excited to create in them :) That's so special that you have journals from your teen years! I think my earliest journals are from my twenties. That must have been so very tough to retire from your practice

    I absolutely love the idea of a journaling club! I rarely seek out or use prompts in my current practice but I think it would be a fun and most certainly rewarding experiment to do as part of a community. Bonus points if this could be available to all viewers for free and not hidden behind a Patreon paywall - perhaps something like a discord server? Oh, and congratulations on your new Hon! Since you shared the devastating news I’ve been wondering if you were going to replace the Hobonichi book, and I’m glad you did. Much love from Scotland 🐈 ❤

    what a beautiful journal, and I am so inspired! I've been reflecting on my journaling practice recently, and I love the way you've set this journal up with that beautiful mantra at the beginning. I'm so sorry that the airline lost your luggage, and how heartbreaking to have lost your planners and journals. I'm so glad that you've been able to get this one and create something so beautiful. ♥By the way, you named two of my favorite books of all time, Circe and Piranesi! I hope that the recommendations you received end up being enjoyable as well!

      Thank you so much for your kind comment! I'm happy to hear that this video left you feeling inspired :) I actually just watched your journal lineup and I can return the compliment! I love how thoughtful you are with your notebooks. Those two novels were such surprising favorites of mine, especially Piranesi. At the beginning I wasn't quite sure what to make of it, to be honest. Have you read any other books by Madeline Miller or Susanna Clarke?

      Yes the colors of the Liberty Fabrics cover make me so happy :) This was the design I felt a bit sad about not having in my original lineup. It's so great that you'd be interested in a journaling club. I'll think about the best way to set this up.

    I'm sorry you couldn't get your original journals back. But the Liberty Fabrics HON is so cute and lovely, I'm using the same HON for this year, too. I hope you have a great time journaling in it!

    I’m so pleased you’ve made the decision to buy a new A6 after such a sad loss. I know you can “subscribe” on UA-cam which might be a suitable place for a book club/journaling prompts? I’m a beginner journaler, and am keeping up with my A6 daily Avec but would also like to use prompts as I’m unsure how to actually write in a journal - it always reads like I’m my 13 year old self ‘today I did…’ 😊. Warmest wishes from the U.K.

      Ah yes, UA-cam offers memberships (I don't know if that's the official name for it). That might be a convenient way to set it up. I'll look into it! It would be so nice to get something like that started :)

    I really enjoy journaling prompts for those days I’m at a loss of what to journal about. A journaling club might be interesting to try out. Thank you for your videos - very inspiring as always.

    When you go to journal with a prompt, do you write the question down, then answer it? Or do you just journal what the answer is? I have my daily journal and I love the prompts you added in last months Cat Collage Club but I’m struggling with whether to add the prompt or not. I’m new to daily journaling.

    • @MaikeOatley
      @MaikeOatley  7 місяців тому +1

      That's a good question. For me, I think it depends on the prompt. In general I quite enjoy giving my journal entries titles, especially if I feel like they give context or clarity to what I am writing about. And I consider including the prompt as a type of headline, I guess. I sometimes imagine myself flipping through the journal in a couple of years and if I think I'll be able to understand why I wrote what I did without including the prompt (or a headline), I leave it out. Is this helpful?
