    1. You should make “Mint Hill Shoe Market” merch
    2. Thank you for this review! I’ve got over 220 miles in my Mach 6 (correct in my size, but it’s not white colorway). I’ve really enjoyed the Mach for everything and they’ve been remarkably consistent. Completely agree that the rolling strongly reminds me of the Endorphin Speed 3. I’d say the weakest point for the shoe is where your legs are toast from a speed session and you are trying to hit a midweek-medium long run they aren’t the most forgiving but that’s less the shoes fault and more just tired legs.
    3. Do you think that a rotation between the SL2 and Mach 6 would make sense - in terms of rotating through the daily trainers?

    • @supwell
      @supwell  3 місяці тому +2

      If you like that fun and fast feel you could definitely rotate them! But they serve the same purpose for me. I do think the SL might solve that problem you have for those longer midweek runs - for me it's been super versatile and more comfortable than a lot of the other light/fast shoes for relaxed miles

    For me the Mach6 fits true to size. But I had to get the wide version to have a similar fit like in the Mach 5. Wasn't sure about the 6, but they did break in and it is generally a better shoe than Mach 5 because of 2 things - durability and foam resilience (doesn't bottom out like the 5 on a longer run).

    I tried the Mach 6 in white 🐻‍❄️ colorway yesterday at Dicks Sporting Goods and it fit perfectly. I didn't buy them bc my wife was with me 😂. It could be a defect in your lot of white colorways or just your shoe unfortunately. With all mass produced products we always run the risk of buying defective products. 🤷 Enjoyed the vid!

    I don't have a lot of miles in the mach 6 cos I'm in marathon miles right now..I find the hoka Cielo road as a faster shoe than the mach 6 and it has one of the most breathable uppers available..will get the mileage up on the mach 6 as temperatures go back down this fall..long runs are my jam and hot feet are my Achilles heel so I'm always looking for uppers like a fish net..actually a upper like the Saucony elite straps and heel,then cut out everything else..I was excited about it until I saw it up close,then lost interest..

    About the difference in recovery between the 10 and 12 mile runs: it might be that your blood sugar levels are dropping just a bit too low when doing 90 mins without fueling, and that makes your body take a bigger hit and take longer to recover even though the difference in training load is pretty small. Just a thought!

    • @supwell
      @supwell  3 місяці тому +3

      Great point - I used to be on top of immediate post-run fueling every time with a recovery drink. So maybe getting back on that for any runs 90+ minutes or taking a gel or two during, even if a relaxed run would help. Thanks for the suggestion 👌🏽🙌🏽

    • @DSKHo1968
      @DSKHo1968 3 місяці тому +2

      I would tend to agree, but not so much blood sugar but your body's glycogen store. When you are running (or any form of "heavy" aerobic exercise) you tend utilise more carb than fat (unless someoneis on a ketogenicdiet). As a consequence you will be hitting the glycogen store hard if you are not refuelling during your run.

      I've 500k in the Mach 5 and around 110k in Mach 6. The Mach 5 was super comfy and soft on step in, which made it great for slow and faster running as well. The Mach 6 on first step in is comfy, but much much firmer. It loosened up at around 50-60k and now feel great. Still firmer than Mach 5, but the firmness makes in possible to go longer without feeling the ground. Although I really enjoyed the natural feel of Mach 5, if I had to choose one, it would be the 6. It's more versatile, can go faster and can go longer. However the fit is absolutely different (why you do this, Hoka?). I had to go wide.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  3 місяці тому +2

      I would go for the Mach 6 if you like the taller cushioned feel of the novablast 4 - SL2 is also great but the Mach 6 has a little more of that protective feel of the novablast 4. Mach 6 is also slightly firmer than the SL2, which is super soft

    Yesterday, I learned a valuable lesson. I 'planned' to do a 10 mile run in my HOKA Carbon X3 (which I've done many times before). After 4 miles, I realized that the shoes were making me run faster than my body wanted to go, so I called it quits. • @kuriosites
    @kuriosites 3 місяці тому +1

    Mach 6 definitely feels like a fast shoe and reasonably soft. I wouldn't wear it every day because of the pressure from the lateral sidewalls, which is typical of HOKA. Fit and feel might be the deciding factor for each person as to which of these two is the best.
    I was not too concerned about the 9mm drop in the SL2 because it's very soft so I'd expect the foam to compress.
    I would like to see more of the 860v14 and Tempus. I'm on board with the advantages of having a stable, protective, rolling shoe. I came across a shoe yesterday called the 840v1, which looks identical to the More v3 with a slightly tweaked upper. That shoe was insanely stable for a neutral shoe.

    • @supwell
      @supwell  3 місяці тому +1

      I saw that 840 as well - I was a little confused on where it fits in given the price but it looks like an interesting entry level option. Also the drop on the SL2 doesn't feel too aggressive at all. Much more similar in feel to the Mach 6 rather than the Pegasus

    Love the content bro and this is not hate, just wanted to point out some potential cognitive dissonance on your side that may be holding you back from the most objective opinions.
    Your neglect of the Superblasts after only a handful of miles in them seems like a massive oversight.
    It’s the most universally lauded shoe, from beginners at slow pace to advanced at fast pace for everyday training, long runs and speed.
    Literally across the ENTIRE running community, including consumer and viewers, the feedback is unanimously positive and also point to the fact they need 50+ or so miles to break in.
    Feels like your subjective opinions after a only a few miles testing is leading to incomplete recommendations.
    For eg when you suggest a rotation which includes a LR shoe, there is NO WAY, the Novablast comes anywhere near the SB.

    Loving all the SL2 content! Much appreciated! I am unsure if it’s the higher drop of particular shoes like the invincible series, Novablast 4, triumph etc, or if it’s the construction of the (chunky) heel but although I think I’m a heel striker, those rides don’t feel too great and find that lower drop shoes like the Boston 12 and more v4 work better for my gait. With that being said, the SL2 is a high drop shoe based on stats but the heel doesn’t look so chunky like the aforementioned shoes. Do you find the ride of the SL2 promotes a predominately heel strike, or one of those shoes like the rebel v4 that almost forces me to run “properly” and midfoot strike?
