Jig heads and soft plastic lures, rigged a bit differently for bass fishing

- This alternative but very simple way of rigging the more narrow-profile soft plastic lures on conventional J-hook jig heads is pretty clever on a bunch of different levels. I was put onto it and I don't remotely claim that this technique is anything to do with me, but I do like how it enables me to carry a couple of J-hook jig heads with me and not have to pre-rig a load of soft plastics.

Still waiting for my first ever seabass after 3 years…good way of rigging it, bravo Henry!
I am wishing you all success with these fine fish...........you will catch, and when you do, you will catch lots more because you will feel so confident
I caught a small bass my very first time bass fishing. That was the summer of 2019. Still waiting for my second. But to be fair, I only get to the coast about six times a year. But it definitely does something to you.

I’ve only ever caught bass under a 1lb on lures I started watching your videos and how you work lures rig them etc I caught a 58cm bass on a savage gear surf seeker. I’m now addicted to lure fishing for them over a heavy beach rod and a big crab bait.
Outstanding Andy!!!!!! Makes my day to get a comment like this, thank you so much and welcome to the addiction!!!!!!
Going to use this rigging method on the Waterford coastline Henry, thanks for sharing your knowledge at the mooncoin event last week and throwing these brilliant tips for bass fishing at us.
Many thanks, hope you liked the show, it was such a fun weekend
Just seen this, great idea. Ball jigheads apper to be a fair bit cheaper than weighted weedless hooks too. Certainly gives some more options for max range and rougher weather and headwinds.
Thank you for another inspiring video Henry !! So pleased to watch this thank you !!
What a fantastic and informative video, thank you, I've just got into lure fishing and purchased the savage gear gravity stick set, and wished that I could add just that bit of extra weight, now I can, brilliant, brilliant advice 😀
Thank you Sam! Enjoy the lures, shout if I can help
@@henrygilbey302 thanks 😊
May i ask what brand of life jacket you using thanks
As you work with savage gear why don't you get them to make a weedless hook with a ball head to it? Surely it would be better
Just use a cheb rig
Lots of development work going on Richard.............
@@henrygilbey302 keep up the good work 👍
wide gap hook would be optimal. maybe use a cherrubashka weight isntead of jighead with wide gap hook
I can see that working. But a clip on weight in front of a standard weedless unweighted hook would do the same and be easy to change. Also get the lure to bump along the bottom and not collect weed
agreed, I have done a video on that, it works great
This look a so much easier way of rigging soft plastics onto jig heads than trying to faff and get a weedless hook to come out in the right place when fully threading onto a hook...
Worth a go, that's what I reckon
