Can we get interview with Jlo?
Inertia means to remain still. It is the force that helps maintain stability and equilibrium. It does NOT mean to move forward. What dictionary is Cameron looking at ?
Kevin is a relatively poor interviewer. I can't watch this.
I’m glad he asked. I’m a nurse and I feel I’m pretty smart but i dont know a lot of words also, and if he didn’t ask. I would have googled it.. but the fact that he humbled who he is or what he does . And asked what does it mean.. reminds me to always ask questions and always ask what that mean? I’m always a student
Momentum vs inertia.
It’s great that Kevin asked what “inertia” means. He says he doesn’t know a lot of words. That is so awesome. If you don’t know, ask or look it up in the dictionary.
Except inertia means lack of movement sorry Cameron
@@czacharkiw3926 Exactly!
he might be a tad busy working
"The man who asks a question is a fool for a minute, the man who does not ask is a fool for life." - Confucius
Great to see someone not afraid to ask what a word means. We're all guilty of pretending to know what a word means when it comes up in conversation. We should all have this humility and put our egos aside in the moment.
I love Kevin being honest about vocabulary. I wish more people were honest when they don't know something and simply just ask.
I love that, too. The weird thing is her definition and use of the word inertia was not entirely apt. I hope he didn't file that away for use later. Typically, people use the word inertia to mean to do nothing (but it can mean to remain to remain in an unchanged state so if the state is moving it kind of is right?) But usually people use the word momentum for that.
@@ChristyMurphyWriter exactly! I wondered if anyone else would comment 😂
Yep, no shame in it
Yea, inertia is the resistance to movement…but probably an honest mistake
It’s called humility.😊
i love how he is actually listening to her unlike other hosts who have have a lot of questions but no patience
Same! A lot of hosts like Jimmy Kimmel & Fallon don't actually listen to their guests. I love how he just sat there and truly listened to her.
Kevin realized he doesnt know everything, so he listens. He is actually curious, which in turn make us really pay attention. Great host!
Ellen’s a perfect example of that
Ellen and Kelly😹
Sidenote, Kevin's honesty in not knowing a lot of words, so so appreciated. I love that he stopped to ask because I didn't know lol no shame here
Only she gave wrong definition of the word lol
@@jcru7866 Not really. She actually demonstrated a deep understanding of it. Inertia is mass, which is energy. Object with more mass have more resistance to change their speed.
@@juancpgo itmeans staying still or doing nothing she used it in a way that meant movement
Different words mean different things to different people. He's clever.
@@jcru7866 it resists change of movement. It can be moving and resists other forces that try to change its direction
Not many woman can walk away from the Hollywood machine with their reputation in tact these days. All credit to her.
True
Plenty of women have.
What does that mean? Who’s reputation was ruined by walking away?
@@MiMi-wp3gu shia labeouf
Truth: she got old, and she wasn't getting offers anymore.
It's so refreshing to see a natural aging face on a celebrity.
You don't know that... !
She actually has had work done
getting old is a privilege not many get to experience in this life because they leave this world far too soon, we should look up to those who age gracefully
No one makes these comments on male celebrity videos.
She's had work done
I feel so out of touch. I didn’t even know she had officially retired. I’m glad she did it for herself and her family. Kinda sad there won’t be anymore movies from her, but she’s such an inspiration for following one’s heart/passion.
Same here
The last movie she made was Annie back in 2014.
Would be cool to see her back on screen but maybe on her own terms. And not a Marvel movie!
She’s making a new movie right now!!! Isn’t that exciting?
She’s one of those people who every time I see her manages to put a smile on my face, strange, she’s stunning, much wealthier than me not to mention that we are thousands of miles away, but I kinda relate to her, she’s so cool :)
I like her laugh it' feels so disarming. Others might find it annoying, not I.
@@Stefanio64 I thinks she has a very honest smile and laugh, like she doesn’t pretend that she’s having fun, she really is having fun, a Portuguese film critic interviewed her once and afterwards he said that she was one of the nicest actresses he had ever interviewed.
Women like this should be cherished, I applaud her for being real and out spoken about her choices for herself and family. Stepping away takes a lot but being true to ones self is a rare feat many can only hope to conquer. Shes happy and you can literally feel it when she talks.
It’s also important to note she’s stepping away because she CAN financially
@@auroramothergoddess yes she SAID that was her goal
@@patrick9440 no she doesn't and she is better look off financially than any of us combine no one likes hater.....
@@auroramothergoddess She was a decent actress but she relied on vanity & looks which is finite.
@@jasonablah7702 of course it’s a dude …always has to be a man hating on a woman
Cameron had her foot on the rom-com genres neck for years! She got tired of it basically. I love this lady sm her and Drew Barrymore
Ironically 2 of Charlie's Angels lol
What "sm" stands for?
@@mariamnawaz9855 so much
This is major facts
You surely did not know her movie “my sister’s keeper” haha
I truly miss her in movies, I really do. She always was such a badass and fresh air, truly love and miss her. But of course, I'm happy for her that she found her "inner peace". 🙏🏻🥰
Way to go Kevin for asking what the word meant without being embarrassed. He showed that he was listening and truly interested in exactly what Cameron was trying to express. And he increased his vocabulary. We should all do this. Props to Cameron too for not looking down on him for asking.
I love how honest she is and down to Earth , she’s not delusional at all like most in Hollywood
Psh. She was a witch when she dated Timberlake and far from humble
@@whtnymchll agreed, don't believe that 'down to earth' nonsense. People often forget she was an actress
....you know most of hollywood? lol
She was a witch because they literally were being stalked by paparazzi every single day for years. Being fed up is a natural reaction.
@@khrisi9410 Terrible excuse, occupational hazard.
She's a mom now and she's energetic too, she's coming back to film probably only for kids films, kinda like how Jennifer Garner did it.
I hope so I love both of them so much lol
peppermint was a great kids movie by JG
I think Jen Garner is ok with that but i feel that if Cameron was coming back she would want to make an actual comeback, like with a big role
I am pikachu face rn.
@@davidao2551 yeah either when her child is older or she'll probably go the Disney route like Angelina Jolie
Love her acting but love herself much more. What a genuine, real normal person
Lol
When you’re a comedian, you have a unique listening ability that not many people have. That’s a critical ingredient for great conversations like this one
What these guys are talking about is what happened to Elvis, among many others. Kevin says here about 'being surrounded by people who are feeding the (money-making) machine, but are not concerned with the person at the centre and their well-being'. Bravo to Diaz for having the insight and intelligence to change her own life, for her own sake, on her own terms.
I find it very admirable when someone admits that they don't know something. Wether it be a particular word or story, and especially in a public way like this, it's rare for people to just blatently admit they don't know something and ask
Love it!
@@amyrenee1361 your right that she didn't define it correctly and the definition you gave is textbook. I always go back to my high school physics class and would have remember newton's first law of motion- a body in motion stays in motion/ a body at rest stays at rest.
She definitely didn't use the term perfectly, but I understood what she was saying.
@@amyrenee1361 she did use it correctly, her career was always moving on to the next movie and keeping that momentum of moving forward which is literally inertia
I love it.. That’s how you learn. More people should do it.
@@jasonk7003 Always moving, momentum, moving forward does not in anyway equal inertia. You're wrong. Go and look it up.
I appreciate that someone is willing to step back from the edge of selling their soul for money and stardom. We need more examples like Cameron.
I’ve always admired and respected Cameron Diaz and this interview further deepened that respect. I admire her understanding what’s truly important in this world. Her focus on herself, her family and loved ones and putting positive energy into the world is so real and important. Thanks Kevin for having her on your show. You two were a great match!
I remember seeing her when The Mask came out, I couldn't get over how fine she was... I STILL feel that way.
I remember seeing her in that when I was 6. That’s when I discovered that I love women
She was one of my celebrity crushes
Foreal. Her in that red dress was hypnotizing.
Charlie's angels for me
💯
Love how kevin was embarrassed to asked the definition of a word. He was willing to learn!
The best way to learn new words is in conversation.😁
Too bad she used it wrong :(
@@ceepeewhy right cuz I just google it and I’m confused on what she meant
Lol its funny cos what she said is like the opposite of what inertia is. Inertia is like the thing in an object that acts against/prevents movement
@@01tshepo you got it wrong too
I met her in person once and she was so incredibly nice .. I have met a lot of celebrities and so many have been absolute rude snobs but she was so nice
Who was the the rudest?
That room is gorgeous and the chairs look so comfortable - perfect for personal chats.
I’m exactly like Kevin, whether I’m watching a movie or talking to someone and I hear a word I’m not familiar with best believe I’m a pause and either look up the word or ask you the meaning. That’s how u learn 😊
She is one of my favorite actresses since I was a child. I hope that one day she will come back. She will make it amazing
exactly
I absolutely adore Kevin Hart!. He is so easy. He is himself. I truly love to see him
It’s ok, folks. She likely meant “momentum” rather than inertia. She’s human- we’ve all done something like this before. :)
No she meant inertia, that's why she said it. 🙂
Lol I understand, I was just being annoying, all peace and love though
No, she meant momentum.
Didn’t know she had stopped acting. Wish her all the best.
@ScAnDeLeZ out of sight out of mind 😬
@ScAnDeLeZ I know, like was he born yesterday?
@ScAnDeLeZ she had 3 movies come out in 2014 so a lot of people didn’t know she stopped acting, including me
She's retired and is now concentrating on being a mother to her child
Well lucky Ms. Diaz & lucky child. Bravo.
Shes still working her books are great!
Best reason to leave the game, in my opiniion. Gotta be there for the kids!
I still need a third Charlie’s Angels with Cam, Lucy and Drew
yeah
That I doubt. Apparently there are talks of a sequel to the last one which had Krist Stew.
Yes I've watched both of them literally a hundred times
I'm really happy for her. Working in entertainment can be a lot of fun and excitement for a few years, but I completely understand her wanting to stay home and raise a family. It sounds lovely.
I gotta say, I love these interviews. The 'funny' of Kevin doesn't serves his ego like some late night or midday hosts, it serves to make the guest comfortable and to ease through the interview and help them relax and open up. The questions and conversation is intelligent and interesting.
Like Kelly Clarkson, she's the worst host ever.

It's that quote: giving up everything for one thing, or giving up one thing for everything.... Take your pick.
Love that!
Deep!:)
I love both Kevin and Cameron both are so real in expressing their feeling.
Given Britney's conservativeship, I understand what she's talking about with how there were many points in her life she couldn't touch, so she left acting.
Fiona is the most complex princess to date #iconic
She made about $20 million per film on that series alone - she isn't concerned about money at all.
I needed to see this today... it hits close to home, all that Cameron says. I may not be an actor but I work from gig to gig at full intensity each and every time. I LOVE what I do, but I know there's more to what I do to make me, me. Only took me nearly 20 years in the biz to realize this.
I think it's really strong of Cam to give up acting and not stop there. She's shown to the world that you don't have get stuck and drag your life according to how others want to see you but rather do what YOU think matters most. 🌻
Two things:
1. Love Cameron Diaz ♥️
2. Kevin ♥️, your stage set-up is beautiful! Really classy! You have real warmth and it shows! Keep up the great work🙏🏻!
Makes me miss the era when movie stars were huge and drove movies.
Agree!
The charlie's angels era!
idk why it makes me sad 😢 but im happy shes happy
Cameron Diaz was and is my all time favorite actress
Cameron is force to be reckoned with on screen, but I am glad that she is doing what she needed for her best self... and I love this Kevin with his serious interviewing skills... he's not just jokes... awesome
All throughout that interview I was obsessing about how cool that location space is.
Me too
She got to live her dreams, experience stardom then she wanted to do other things. I respect that.
I love this! Sometimes a celebrity falls off my radar lol and I always hope they found themselves and are happy. I don't know how they do it for so long, it's not living. 💕
Kevin is fab, what a fantastic choice for an interviewer. He actually listens.
Got rich got out with her name intact 🔥🔥🍾🍾
I was thinking the same thing
I love that she is married to Benji Madden. I feel like they would be awesome fun couple friends. Also pretty neat she is Nicole Richies sister in law.
Great interview Kevin. It just flowed and Cameron was open and comfortable in the space. I can relate to her experience.
For all of this, Kevin asking what a word means and stating he doesn't know what it means, and doesn't know the meaning of a lot of words is phenomenal. Most people would never feel they could ask that in a public setting. They would pretend they knew and just keep on going. Way to go, Kevin! Keep on learning! I have always admired Cameron for walking away from a soul stealing industry.
We really need more from this kind conversation instead of fancy look and luxury life of celebrity we are so tired from keeping up with Kardashian , sometimes been poor and happy better then been rich and unhappy .
I love the roles she's played but I'm so glad she found her true happiness
Just when you think you can’t adore this woman she is so down to earth. We love you Cameron! Blessings to you and baby Raddix and the family
I really do miss seeing her in newer movies, but I totally admire her decision to step away and enjoy her life.
She’s one of the few that will be missed……
She’s effortlessly funny and such a light genuine energy
👍🏽✌🏽
Cameron such a deeply spiritual and switched on , highly intelligent being .
This comes across on screen and all her interviews .
Beautiful spirit and character 🤗
It is so refreshing to see a man and a woman actually having a conversation without any giggling or flirting for once.
Great, warm, intelligent interview.
I wish she would come back, I love her movies.
I love that she found her purpose in life! I do, however hope she does act again. She has such a talent and is such a light in the industry.
Please make these interviews available everywhere!!! Thank you!
Cameron was always one of my favorite people to see on screen. Her presence was always a breath of fresh air for some reason.
She had an urge to become “normal” while the “normal” have an urge to become “famous”
People tend to think that “The grass is greener on the other side” sometimes they’re right, sometimes not so much
Justine Bateman has really great insights on this too.
I believe that "normal" have the urge to make enough money to stay normal. It would be nice not to worry about paychecks and to do just the things that makes you happy and fulfilled
@@oldmangaming3715 Are you feeling okay right now, really? I am trying to show you my own authenticity and care for your situation. I hope she comes back soon....I love her movies!
She's happy having time for herself.
Man, time is flying by and often I get reminded that we are all getting old!
This was a really nice conversation, I mean.. imagine being so preoccupied with a game & playing stuff in the background, and then watching this video & focusing on theit conversation!
she definitely went through a spiritual awakening n it looks great on her !! 🤍 more love n light to her
She is one of my favorite actresses.
I really love it when Cameron Diaz says "That she can literally manage her daily routine all on her own without the help of others".... She is independent and does not constantly rely on a "Entourage of people" like some elites & celebrities do!.....
She actually said she couldn't and that's why she retired. She could only do 1 thing well, the acting, and relied on a team of people to do everything else. She confirmed the opposite of what you said. Her reason for leaving was she didn't want that anymore. Maybe listen rather than putting you misread interpretation.
A refreshingly honest interview, with great atmosphere and clarity. Well done Kevin.
Kevin gave her all of his attention, that’s so admirable. I’ve never seen such a respectable interview. His heart genuinely shows through this.
yeah i like how he interviews celebs its nice 😊😊😊
I love Cameron Diaz and her decision makes a total sense!
I'm here for it!!! She's talented, and I never really questioned why she quit, because for someone to quite something that they absolutely loved to do in life just out of the blue, it had to be deeper than acting!!! She's whole, happy and healthy! And to me, thats a win in my book
Always thought she was swedish with that beautiful smile of hers ... 😊Great honesty being thrown out there"HarttoHeart"...
Cameron Diaz has been acting for a long time and it's time for her to do something extraordinarily new. I like the way Cameron Diaz used the word inertia which means moving forward. I am looking forward to watching this interview again.
"inertia" - a tendency to do nothing or to remain unchanged.
Actually inertia in physics, is the reluctance of a molecule to move when static or to stop when already in motion unless triggered by an external force.
In that sense, she's right
@@jide2946 so she just randomly going into physics jargon. More likely she made a mistake I think.
I was looking for THIS comment, OP. She absolutely defined "inertia" incorrectly.
Yep, no wonder he didn't know what inertia meant. It's comforting to know that no one is infallible. Love her anyway!
Great to see Cameron. Smart woman - life is short of time for experiencing. …climb the highest proverbial mountain in your vision and you’ll crave redirection.
I love how real she is about being a celeb but doesn’t complain. Honestly, I always thought it must be so weird to employ hairdressers, makeup artists all for yourself. Seems like pressure to always keep going on the move to the next thing that keeps bringing in the most money for you and your team. Which isn’t something celebs ever talk about. Many pretend to be humble or like the rest of us, but only very few truly are like her.
Something About Mary is my favorite Cameron Diaz movie. Happy she had the guts to step away from all that fame and do what feeds her soul.
Great job Kevin! Love the interview and the setting.
Great interview...I would love a wine room like that.
She's not the most talented actress, but she did very well for herself and made millions, therefore she is able to step away if she wants to, instead of taking more mediocre roles offered to most women of her age. Fair play to her, I wish her well!
Thank you, I didn't even miss her
@@Animj90 I didn’t miss her either, but thinking back on the roles she did and the big movies she were in, I think she can look back feeling content.
The video is not about her age. If this was a guy who was not an edelry person, would you even think of mentioning his age???
This is a human being you’re talking about
She always seemed so cool and down to earth so easy to get along with
I love the place this interview took place.
I love the topic today. Kevin just let Cameron brought out everything from her heart.
Don’t feel judged, Kev. “Inertia” is actually the exact opposite of Cameron’s definition. 🤷🏽♀️
She meant momentum. 😂
I stopped midway through the interview to find this comment.
Lol right! I’m like wait, what?
@@Xylem44 Yep. Actors are great in the sphere of entertainment and many of them have "fine arts" degrees. However, they are specialists and that means their knowledge of non-artistic fields is usually quite limited. Hmmm, maybe we should all keep that in mind the next time a celeb goes on twitter to share his/her opinion on politics, court cases or various socioeconomic issues.
Cameron's actually not wrong. The definition of inertia is: a property of matter by which it continues in its existing state of rest or uniform motion in a straight line, unless that state is changed by an external force.
She said it's to keep going, so she wasn't wrong.
I just love her. She’s one of the best for sure.
