Some how Palpatine was born
😂😂
he was born thats why he was alive
Because his parents figured out how to DO IT
*DEW IT
@@SirsasthNigam.no they’re saying it can’t be palpatine, he’s not born for another 50 years
You are incorrect on one thing. This is set 100 years before the Phantom Menace which means Palpatine isn't even alive at this time...only his master Darth Plagueis would be alive still as a Sith Apprentice under Darth Tenebrous.
This! I’m really hoping this is the story of plagueis but I’m not holding my breath
Lame.
100 years is not enough time, Yoda would be approaching 800 yrs old? he would still be with the Younglings. Disney never learns. Don't have to make stuff up, stories and plot are there in Kotor. Bane, Malak, Nihilus, etc
Is Tenebrous canon though?
@@rywall182 yes he was made canon again in build the millennium falcon #44
"Trinity, you take the blue milk...the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red milk...you stay in a galaxy far far away, and I show you how deep the trash compactor goes”.

The high republic era has so much potential to be some of the most interesting Star Wars content. Praying it doesn’t flop🙏
If it can deliver
FACTS
Lmao
lol we know disney…
Don't get your hopes up too high
0:21 they were at the height of their power in the sense of being a golden age of their peacekeeping, not arrogance.
that was a lot earlier in the timeline, this is only 200 years before the prequels and they’re starting to slip, some a lot more than others
@@liamedwards9793 100 years*, and i was talking about the High Republic Era in general.
@@gbozzi05_Arrogant meaning too caught up in their ideals to think anything is wrong
They usually go hand in hand
both can be true
Love the constant thread of post Original Trilogy shows and movies that flesh out and give providence to all the random one-off wallpaper characters from ANH and ROTJ. Theelins started out as a single background singer in Max Rebo's band, and someone decided "Yup, they're going to get a backstory and we're going to see more of them and their people."
When they say there is no good or evil, that soley benefits evil.
I think out of all the cameos from characters that could happen in the Acolyte, Huyank seems like the least invasive since he is directly tied to the training of young king in their lightsaber construction.
If this series is 100+ years before the battle of yavin, and Palpatine was in his late 80s during that battle, then there is no way Sheev could be in this series
Actually it's 100 years before TPM, but your point still stands.
And another 900 years until the last time the Sith were seen. Somehow…
Should be Plagues & Tenebrous i would guess. No Palpy.
@@marksaunders3723 well technically thats what i said, 100+ years. The reason i cited bby is because that’s what the video referenced. But yeah if it’s 100 years exactly before tpm then that helps confirm further def wont be palps.
@@MildandLazyGuyI presume the Jedi will see the “sith” of this series as an *acolyte*(I didn’t intend for that wordplay) of the darkside but not a true sith, that or they’ll die so word never gets out. Or alternatively Disney f*cks up the canon again 😭
" Palpatine hires rogue Jedi to do the bidding for the Trade Federation...Rogue Jedi kill each other off in lightsaber duels until only Darth Maul is left. "
The Acolyte
Definitely won’t be Palpatine. He wasn’t born yet. Plagueis, however, is a possibility and I would absolutely love if they brought him in
Thank you Erik Voss for everything you breakdown. Watching your videos brings a smile to my face and me and my dad bond over the videos.❤
WTF
So excited for the show!
I’m so excited to finally see the jedi together fighting which we haven’t really seen since the first battle of geonosis and the SWTOR trailers. Some of my favorite stuff.
Tell me you’ve never watched clone wars without telling me you’ve never watched clone wars
@@coltonjones4701 I meant in like unified and in larger groups. In clone wars I can’t really remember a time that like more than 3-4 jedi were fighting together, like on Ringo Vinda, second battle of geonosis, ect, was were we had the most.
So a series that may have or references to Tarfful, Plagueis, and an 800 year old Yoda? Sign me up!
Yes, Yoda is still around. You know Yoda's species can live more than 900 years. So he's still a round.
I get the feeling it's more about Yaddle showing up
If it's taking place 100 years before Phantom Menace, I don't think Palpatine is even born yet, he was a human after all, he couldn't have been around THAT long.
could be a teen if he learned how to cheat death + he was a sith so he could have learned to age slower with dark side abilities
Which is why Tenebrous might be the main villain right now. Plageuis could be an apprentice.
Given the fact this is set roughly around 100 years before the events of the sequels, I hope they include and RESPECT Plagueis and Tenebrous.
@@cidiosethe sequels
@@cidiose I think you are mistaken with when this takes place
ngl the posters for this go pretty hard
Love how you didn’t automatically take a negative stance on this like so many are online! Let’s wait to see if it’s good right??? Looks pretty good to me.
nah
Yeah looks good so far . Can't wait to watch it
Nah. The nostalgia isn't there. Disney needs to just sell sw. I'm embarrassed for them.
@@JIGWIGPIG lol they're never going to see star wars
you've seen Disney recently n star wars if u still think this could be good you are lost.
The Acolyte looks awesome! I'm very excited to see where they take the premise of the show because it sounds really interesting to me so far!
This cast is crazy
terrible
more like samsung knight meets cheap mercenary squad
Fax
I always appreciate Erik’s positivity and information. Thank you!
So Yoda is alive...Might we see him again?
I sometimes forget how old palpatoots is. I'm extremely excited extremely for this
He's not old enough to be in this. This is about twenty years before he was even born. Eric's timeline is a bit off. If there are real Sith in this it will be Plagueis and his master Darth Tenebrous, not Palp and his master Plagueis. And that's only if they are going by the established timeline, which knowing Disney they don't really care.
@@jasongalloway9758 Plagueis would have been too young, this would have to be Darth Tenebrous or his master Darth Ramage, who I believe actually died around the time Acolyte is set.
This trailer looked incredible, I'm hyped for this Star Wars project as it's a time within the Star Wars Galaxy that we've never seen before in film or live action TV.
This show looks amazing!
It is like a mix of Andor's tone with Ahsoka's mystic themes including Shang-Chi's combat
The "combat" is horrendous
Ashoka Mystic?
What Mystic? Hayden saying "Hey snips"?
This trailer looks soo good. When the red lightsaber was shown at the end my eyes lit up 🔥
How does it look good? U do realise the sith have been extinct for a millennium?
@@117MasterSpartannot extinct, in hiding with the rule of two
@@gyderian9435 duh we know they are in hiding. Well enough for the Jedi to believe they are extinct
@@117MasterSpartan so what was your point then?
@@gyderian9435the point would be that every character who sees that Sith will have to die. Maul is the first Sith to be seen in 1000 years. If the Jedi order becomes aware of this Sith then continuity is broken.
I actually got goosebumps watching the trailer.
Oh did you...
@@Jay-jb2vr Go away.
I am so excited for this. I love the High Republic Era, this is going to be fantastic.
nah
Killmonger really kicked off that hairstyle 😂
When I saw that hairstyle here I was like, "Disney, you did this to yourself with Michael B. Jordan in Black Panther" 😭😂
I thought it was predator
Huyang and Yoda were the first ones that popped in my mind when they announced The Acolyte! I really hope to see them! 😁😊
Yaddle. Chewie. Yarrel Poof. Evan Piel
Gi-hun from Squid Game and y'all covering the trailer is about to get me into the Star Wars franchise 😂
I really hope they do a Darth Plagueis reference or at least a Hego Damask reference.
They won‘t.
Disney got pretty good at letting us fans down.
Also, they aren‘t women so they won‘t appear or they make them female.
@@bierkules7831 Don't go full incel.
You jumped all the way to the end of the trailer 🤣🤣🤣
This is probably way before sheev Palpatine time but, hopefully we get a backstory of darth plagueis if he was alive during this era.
Interesting that you bring up the Drengir when talking about major threats during this time but not the Nameless? Easily THE most dangerous threat the Jedi have arguably ever seen in their history.
amandla lookin so good 😩
This is gonna be better than andor and andor has been the very best piece of star war fiction to date
This is before the temple guards were formed, likely the middle of the high republic. The end of the high republic alone is almost 500 years, this is likely darth tenebrous, or darth cognus/millenial. Honestly simply the fact that they’re hunting and killing Jedi, tells me it’s darth cognus, as that’s the only time the Jedi learned about the rule of 2, after that they thought the banites were extinct
Came straight here for an explanation on the trailer!!👍🏼
Acolyte is an old republic term for a practitioner of the dark side, so it could be a separate sith following their own interpretation of their teachings outside the rule of two that Plagueis and Tenebrous would be following at this time.
I want a full episode that focuses on Geode. I also want Geode to be the mysterious sith villian.
100 years b4 Phantom Menace... Palpatine wouldn't have been born yet for another few decades... But maybe a Darth Plagueis and his master could make an appearance or be mentioned
could be a teen if he learned how to cheat death + he was a sith so he could have learned to age slower with dark side abilities
@@deadlydwarf9312 not yet... Why do you think he was so obsessed with cloning himself to transfer his consciousness?
So excited for this show!!
so excited to see this era in live action. it would be great if we got a reference to Dagan Gera.
So we're seeing a younger Yoda possibly??
*younger, not young. He's roughly 8-900 in phantom menace, so he'd still be old, probably 6-700
The High Republic is certainly not the height of Jedi arrogance. That goes to the prequel era jedi. The Jedi of the high republic ARE arrogant, but kind of the whole point of the era is that the jedi are at their most ideal. Attachments aren't as scrutinized, the view of the force is more open to interpretation, and the jedi understood their role to be that of advisors to the Republic, not their police force.
Right?? I have a feeling based on some of the dialogue though that this is essentially going to be taking that tack though - the Jedi are an elitist, power hungry institution and were never good, etc. It's possible of course that it could be a misdirection (as it's also a frequent shield for people who really do just want power for their own sake).
But I'm really hoping we get to see an example of a functional Jedi Republic and what those philosophies look like in balance (no pun intended, haha).
Eric got a little bloodthirsty towards the end of the video 😂
This does give me slight hope that they will visit the old Republic. That era has so much the van use.
I’m actually excited for this..
idk how anyone isn't unbelievably excited for this
It looks like poop
Palpatine wasn’t born until 82 bby, 18 years after the events of acolyte
Another amazing video
I'm cautiously optimistic.
So long as they keep Plagueis and Tenebrous in canon I can accept most things
2:37 Theelin have been in Star Wars since like return of the jedi
*since like the ROTJ Special Edition
Only a hundred years but Plaugus was running sith then this should be a hell of a lot further back than a 100 years
Palpatine wasn’t around yet, then again I didn’t expect him to somehow return in the sequels so maybe they’ll make something up again lol
It doesn’t track that the GOT kid playing a padawan to be secretly Sheev. If he was, Yoda and the other older Jedi would’ve recognized him a century later when he pops up as a senator.
Brilliant I'm so excited 🎉
I wonder if any of this will connect to Darth Bane and Darth Plagueis
If Star Wars is connecting the past to the Skywalker saga, then I would not be surprised if Revan is even brought up in name in the Acolyte. Star Wars has been on a kick lately exploring timelines before episode 1. I'm sure it will connect to Bane and Plagueis. If anyone definitely Plagueis.
When I seen a female sith I almost instantly thought of Bane
Plagueis is more likely since this is just 100 years before the phantom menace. So Plagueis would be in his teens so we might get some hints of him or his master Darth Tenebrous.
They are connected through 1,000 years of lineage, which then was shattered by Luke, then again re shattered when Rey got the emperor.

2:36 Theelins have been around since Return of the Jedi. Rystall Sant who was a dancer in the Max Rebo Band was Theelin.
*Since Return of the Jedi Special Edition
I'm excited for a story that doesn't take place between Phantom Menace to Rise of Skywalker
Super exciting to hear High republic plot points mentioned here as an avid reader of the HR books
The Jedi were at the height of their arrogance during the clone wars high Republic was when the jedi were closer to Qui-gon type of relationship to the force
Oh, I misread your line. You're absolutely right about the height of arrogance being during the Clone Wars. I agree. The problem in the Prequels era then was that none of the Jedi in leadership had a Qui-gon type of relationship with the force at that time - hence why Qui-gon was so often at odds with the council. The Jedi were politicians and republic servants/tools by that point, hence why it was such an easy transition into military leadership. They had "lost their first love" to borrow a biblical line.
Not hoping for blood but am so excited to see some light saber battles! And very excited to see Carrie Ann Moss and Amandla Stenberg!
This is going to be fire can't wait!
Wonder if we will see the nameless in this. I also dont think whoever has the red lightsaber is a sith. In some of the books (albeit the 4 books are set after return of the jedi) but the aftermath trilogy and Shadow of the Sith have a dark side cult called "The acolytes of the beyond" wonder if this person is a member/founder of the cult?
The poster reminds me of the one for The Hateful Eight.
im excited
Cheers for this.
I think that we won't see palpatine but maybe plaigis
Was Palps a Jedi? Thinking not
Plo Koon is probably around during this time, too.
4:28 if Palpatine had been a Jedi padawan or youngling it would have taken a lot for him to hide that. I’m not up on the lore of Palpatine’s recruitment into being a Sith, but it would make the most sense for him not to have ever been a Jedi.
He wasn't a Jedi and wouldn't have been in this time period anyway.
he never said he was
I just hope it's not trash like esp 7,8,9
Or trash like obi wan, boba fett, mando season 3, and ahsoka.
"Close your eyes..., In front of you is sugar honeycombs, the shape you have chosen is the shape you must shape it out"
The bar fight is the same bar in Jedi survivor
Mystery: Someone is killing all the Jedi.
Mystery solved: It's Disney.
EEEEE IT'S COMING OUT ON MY BIRTHDAY! ::Happy dance:: I love they're doing more High Republic stuff, and it's gonna be great to see the rise of the Sith!!
"Hopefully we see some blood" is such a dystopian thing to say. I'm all for seeing a well crafted story that has some blood, but I don't need a ritual sacrifice to make it worth watching.
Pretty sure the currently accepted canon is that Plagueis died between the events of Phantom Menace and Attack Of The Clones. While we never saw him on screen (that we know of) he was still alive during Episode 1.
This trailer gave me a thrill I haven’t had since the first Andor trailer. It looks AMAZING
i was wondering do you think that the lady with the knife could be a member of the Mecrosa order from Legends or at least a version of it
But the Miralan Jedi can only be padawans to other Miralans
The Jedaii were founded on the planet Tython, not Ochto, I thought it was a old temple
it could be Darth Tenebras
I can't wait to see Carrie Ann Moss as a Jedi!
I’m just excited to see more Star Wars.
If this is at the end of The High Republic they should know a lot about Jedi being killed from the Nihil and the Nameless
The trailer didn't look all that good for me but I'm excited nontheless, given the era. Hope that the episodes themselves prove to be better
I still wish we could get KOTOR content. I want to see Jedi and Sith orders both at the height of their power going to war with each other. I'm sick of the rule of two era, I want to see an army of thousands of sith conquering entire systems.
The most interesting thing about this project to me is the shift in perspective. I’m hoping we’re going to see most of this story from the perspective of the dark siders.
the Feminists
Blood Blood Blood Blood Blood Blood Blood!
I don't know why the way that sith held their lightsaber and the red smoke afterwards just reminds me a lot of Darth Nihilus I know it's just a theory but how cool would it be to see the planet muncher himself
I thought Luminara's race could only take a padawan from their own race but Verns master isn't one of their race. Am I wrong? Haha
I cant believe it took them this long to explore the early years of the Jedi order before Anakin came about. Im so excited!
I pretty sure this gonna more grounded than the previous Star Wars projects
