It's insane how quick cars have become nowadays. An E60 M5 probably does high 4's consistently, could probably do 4.5 secs in optimal conditions and it had 507 hp. Obviously this is AWD and so are 300hp VAGs than can sprint to 100 in less than five seconds, but what we consider fast has really changed quite a lot in a decade.
Exactly. And you can get this for far less than what a E60 M5 was when it was new in the dealer. Of course it won't beat it's sound but then again nothing will.

The 330i is a great car and i loved it but the M340i is on another level . I used to get 36mpg out of the 330i and now im getting 34mpg out of the 340i, cant grumble at that.

PDriveTV that’s cool. It would depend on your viewer base I guess. Be nice to have an idea as an Aussie viewer what the price will be in AUD. You could even add conversions for US or Canada.
I don’t understand why BMW insists on putting their fake engine noise over top of a glorious I-6 engine???? There’s no reason to modify the sound the engine makes naturally. BMW used to make some of the best sounding vehicles. Even as recently as the E9x 335i you got a delightfully straight exhaust that sounded super deep at low revs but would howl away when you let it rip. Nowadays they just muffle everything and mask the muffling with the worst sounding warble. Even a Ford Focus ST sounds more convincing, and that’s hard to believe.
ANAL DEVASTATOR yeah active sound sucks. BMW’s is the worst sounding engine sound enhancement in the industry. They use the same exact sound for I-3, I-4, I-6 and V8 engines. It’s a nasally warble that’s super annoying.
I tested this car, enjoyed it and bought... Tesla Model 3 Performance. 340i is not lazy but the comparison of the performances is cruel for BMW. In France, buying a 340i means a final price increased of a huge penalty. Max penalty for polluting cars can go up to 20k€... Nevertheless, BMW has good engineers because this 340i is penalized only by around 6k€. So, I am convinced that we dream BMW 340i and buy 318d...
Do you think the prices of these new models of bmw at the dealer are reasonable? I mean you get quite a performance for it's price, but then again the price is not for everyone 😄
Aka Launch Control. Holding the brake while revving the engine to a certain rpm then releasing the brake so the car would have a better launch than just slamming the gas pedal.
@@delusionality190 Yep. We can change that term if it's confusing? We don't want to say 'launch control' as some cars have proper launch control and others don't. But we're happy to consider simply calling it launch control if everyone prefers.
Look ok but automatic transmission? I bet it will break down the transmission sucks now if it was a manual transmission then maybe it will last longer. For you kids manual transmission doesn’t mean paddle shifter.
Fred Taj You clearly have no idea what a ZF gearbox is. BMW have been using this gearbox for well over a decade now and it’s safe to say that they have nearly perfected it. It is an 8-speed automatic ( was 6-speed in the late 2000s) and is being used by every major manufacturer lately. BMW though have been known for tuning it in the best way possible. It is robust and can handle shit loads of hp and torque, so much so that the new M-cars, Audi RS cars, Jags and many other high performance variants have ditched the DCTs for these, as they are smooth even at cruising speed(same cannot be said about the DCT). It is almost as quick as a DCT in shifts when in sport mode but won’t break your neck while shifting. Ofcourse a manual gearbox is always going to be more engaging in comparison to any automatic out there but if you’re looking for performance this will leave the manual in dust. The new M3/M4 will still be getting the manual transmission unlike other manufacturers who have ditched manuals a generation ago, so that’s a big thing. You can choose manual + RWD or automatic + AWD(still RWD biased, the X-drive) configurations respectively.
Muzammil Hussain i to get it it might be good i do have a idea and for your information BMW 8 speed transmission is so perfected that’s why so many BMW are breaking down because of the perfected transmission, how do i know that my family is in transmission business specially German transmission they service or rebuild more 8 speed BMW transmission because they are perfect.
