Alt-F11 -- Reduce full-screen Ham Clock: Great video, Jim. I purchased an Inovato Quadra about 8 months ago, and it is indeed a great mini-computer for ham radio apps. It is useful to have the system boot up directly into Ham Clock, but one disadvantage is that it becomes 'difficult' to get back to the Armbian home screen to make other changes to the system and/or access other icons. I'm no Linux expert, and had to ask others how to do that. If you need to get back to a home screen, you can use the Alt-F11 key combination to get to a reduced image of Ham Clock that allows you to minimize Ham Clock to get to other icons, terminal window, etc. Thanks again. Good DXing and 73. Ken -- WBØOCV
No f11 on the little keyboard that comes with it so I’m kinda stumped right now lol. I didn’t set it to fit my tv screen properly and can’t figure out how to get back to the desktop 😂 Oh well at least it works!
Thank you for the video Jim. One question: is it possible to connect the quadro only with a android tabled. I will use the hamclock on mobile expeditions. And use the tablet as touchscreen and hotspot. Thanks for your help. Vy 73 de Gino. 15DC09
I've done this and it's taken a while for me to find it as I forgot. Sorry for the delay. I think a long left click on the padlock icon will do what you want without powering down the Quadra or Pi. It will close Ham Clock but not the computer. Otherwise, I haven't be able to find how to just go back to settings. Hmmm
I called Inovato and they said the Quadra is not capable of running Vara HF. Here is the exact answer they sent to me: "The Quadra does not include and can't run Vara. Vara is a Windows app and wine (to run windows apps on Linux) takes more memory than the Quadra has." It might be a good idea to edit your video to correct that so that others don't order it to later discover it will not run Vara.
I have had the Quadra for some time and it runs Hamclock ok for me but is too slow for any other apps in my opinion. I am currently trying the pi5 and have issues with the 7 inch display being to dim and hard to get the right resolution that allows the apps to run correctly. This of course is why we as hams do this right?
How do you get back to page 1 so I can install my call sign? when setting this up it jumped to the main screen without giving me the opportunity to put my call sign and grid.
Search "how to access setup pages in ham clock". Text and videos on your question plus reset and restarting ham clock. Not the most intuitive program. Thanks for watching and commenting.
it's a MAONO XLR/USB Dynamic Microphone.. amzn.to/3RPm7KE I record into OBS. There's about a 300 ms delay programmed into OBS to deal with the latency to keep words and lips in sync.
I have using the quadra for awhile now. suddenly I always get a message “prop d map file too short”. i am running most recent version and it doesn’t matter what dx i set or what band i click, prop map doesn’t load and i get the message file too short. any idea what the issue could be?
Thanks for your informative review! I have the Quadra HamClock bundle. Have tried several monitors with it and have set to an HD or better resolution, but cannot obtain smooth fonts and graphics with HamClock 3.01. Any ideas?
It may have to do with how big the screen is. When I look closely at my fonts I can see some blocking along curved edges. I suspect some older font technology in the programming. I really love the customizable aspect of the display and the overall impact it adds to my shack. Cheers.
Ham clock picks up the data it displays from several sources and updates periodically. Check out this video where we discuss the displays in more detail. Thanks for watching.
The Inovato comes with a bunch of ham apps, but one needs a radio for APRS. Check my channel for a video on a cheap APRS solution using any 2m radio and a smartphone.
This is biggest bargain I've seen in a long time. It's a Linux based computer, capable of a LOT of things in addition to ham radio, with no nags from Microsoft to upgrade every time you power it up.

Sounds like a neat application. Probably better answered by the folks at inovato.com. Sorry, don't know. Cheers.
I was thinking of getting the bundle with the dmr radio and hot spot
What is the keyboard command to get into HAMClock Setup Pages? Or must we reboot from power down?

I really enjoy your videos, thanks for the information. I also wanted to know what brand and model is your microphone? I really like it.

Can this work with a mouse instead of little pad,?
Pretty sure the answer is yes. They sell a USB hub for the Inovator Quadra so I assume that means USB mice and keyboards will work.
@GadgetTalk4U awesome. Just ordered one too.
you did a great job of description. N7BXX Tucson

Love mine
ssn connection failed, header error, wind header short. booting up says wifi connected. how can I fix this?
did this company shut down?
products page says NOT avabile.
Yes. The owner was diagnosed with a serious illness and closed. It's my understanding that orders taken before closure were filled. Very sad.
I have been trying t?o make a purchase for about a month and the web site says the main unit is out of stock, when will you have more ready for sale?
I am not associated with the vendor, so I don't know. A couple of videos on this smokin' deal have made this quite popular.
@@GadgetTalk4U i gave up and bought from a diffent vendor that was able to maintain a supply. Honestly I dont think they are in buisness any longer.
What’s the blue tooth adapter for
My bundle came with a mini Bluetooth keyboard.
@@GadgetTalk4U really I’m wanting to be the bundle with hotspot and dmr radio
You need more HT's ! LOL
Oh no I never put my call sign in
can this device do aprs?

It's a great $50.00 time piece., Too slow for anything else. The ethernet speed is less than desirable also. But... it's a fun little TOY!
I bought this because I’m not computer literate at all lol. I seen the process to put it on a computer or raspberry pi and said NOOOPE
So all I need is a monitor? no computer to use this application?
The Quadra is the computer. Cheers.
thank you@@GadgetTalk4U
Unfortunately, its closing. Nomore orders taken.
Sad to hear the owner has been ill. Back to the Raspberry Pi I guess.

Too much of you and not enough of product. Please Readers Digest version.
Sorry, I'm not a Readers Digest kind of guy. I appreciate the feedback, though.
