Bought the bundle a month ago & love it. Literally plug & play. Adjust to your personal preferences & go. Can't wait to use it on my POTA setup portable on battery power.
With the time change, we are - 6 in Tx. -- yea I hate it to... I've had this since they came out just over a year ago. I use it for the ham clock on a cheap Amazon travel / portable hdmi monitor.
Got one a few weeks back. Good stuff. Geochron on the cheap. Have is connected to a television that wasn’t being used. Powering the Quadra from the tv usb port
It isn't a geochron but then again it is 10% of the price. Plus... the geochron looks amazing but it's SO expensive it makes me nervous. All of that is dependent on geochron remaining online and functional, otherwise what happens in ten years when I dig it out and plug it up? Server not found? Not interested in that scenario and it's a lot easier to say yeah this $50 device might not work in ten years vs a $500 device.
You seemed not to know these in the initial setup. gpsd is a Linux service to get location from a GPS dongle, and makes the time available. NTP sets the time over the network and asks which Internet time server to use, or get time from GPS.
I have had one for a couple of months now and I love it (so far). Right now I am only using it for a ham clock function. Although, I have tested out the internet search capabilities and it does work well. I call it my $49 Geochron, lol.
NTP is the Network time protocol. It synchronizes the computer clock with an atomic clock via a list of time servers. This appears to be using whatever the default servers are. I am only a few minutes into this video. But I assume that this is being used as a time source to the ham equipment, in which case it has to be also synced to a reliable time source.
This is a FANTASTIC option for someone who does not want to tinker with hardware and software. For me I decided to build mine, I spent 100 dollars shipped but for my C note, I got the PI, a case, a logitec keyboard with built in trackpad, and an MMDVM hat so I was able to build a pi-star DMR hotspot AND Hamclock together :) but again, I am a tinkerer.
As soon as I saw HamClock i knew i wanted it running in the shack. And when the Inovato came out i knew that was the perfect platform. I ordered the Inovato and built HamClock from source code. Something id never done on Linux before. It was a piece of cake. Now that Inovato is coming preloaded with HamClock only makes things better.
That's why this is such a cool little bit of kit. Source code is not in my wheel house. A computer guy I am not. I know enough to get in trouble, that's about it.
It is the old T95 MINI with the Allwinner H6 Soc 2gb Ram Android TV Box with Armbian firmware flashed on it. It does run hot may need a larger heat sink. great for hamclock
It shares hardware with the T95 Mini, but the OS is a customized Armbian with HamClock (& setup script) and other Ham Radio software pre-installed. There is also an installer for additional Ham software. A custom stand/fan is available on the site, too.

Yeah, it is a custom item these days. We filter out the hottest ones here when flashing (we flash and test in the US) and don't sell them. We buy in the thousands to try to keep them in stock, which usually works fine. We have been blessed with a couple of fantastic UA-cam videos lately, (like this one!) that has massively increased demand. We are doing our best to keep up and have several thousand coming starting next week. We'll flash, test, package and ship as fast as we can! Sorry for any delays....
Wow, I am glad I watched your setup demo. I was just about to order one of these but from your video I see that it will not even do my time zone in Hawaii as -10 or optionally just show UTC time zone. Having time zones from the mainland doesn't help us out here in Hawaii at all, lol
I've had mine since seeing it on Jim W6LG's feed. Its on its own monitor, Wi-Fi to my modem, I got the micro keyboard with it but quickly swapped it for a full size Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse. Much easier to work with. I've got mine set up with Grey Line, FT-8 DX spots, EME and solar conditions, and RS-44 tracking. It's definitely a great tool. Nowhere near as fast as my SSD Optiplex, but it does what it does well.
First thanks for the great videos. Next a question, I also use HAMRS, but what is the best way to log multiple parks from same contact... and the best way to log multiple callsigns from same contact? NS9T 73
You'll need and HDMI monitor or television to configure it. Afterwards, you can easily access it from any web browser on your LAN. Or remotely over your WAN, if you set up port forwarding in your router. I have a dedicated monitor for, but it functions perfectly in a browser window on my PCs and tablets.
Looks like a great piece of kit. I have 2 questions about the Ham Clock software itself- Is there an option to display both UTC and local time at the same time? Also, can you display temperatures in both C and F at the same time? These features would come in handy, being able to just glance at the screen when talking to non-USA folks.
I have had that Inovato for about 4 months and although I keep it on in the background all the time on the hamclock I find it very slow and not up to the tasks I need it for. I did get my Raspberry Pi 5 the other day and the power supply and cooler show up today so I am looking forward to installing it into my 3D printed case and getting my radio software installed. This 8gb SBC should be what I need to get the shack up to snuff. I may relegate the old Inovato to some other task perhaps a new NAS?
I stripped a lot of software off it. The Raspberry Pi5 is surprisingly fast. I am starting to move over my software today and then design a under shelf mount for it.
