I love this bag, the super large granny squares! My daughter lives in Portland so I sent her this video and asked her to watch the first couple minutes so she could hear your love for the city. The name of the bag is perfect, the rose gardens place she took me to when I visited was amazing and this bag is just as amazingly beautiful. I am making myself one and will add a muslin lining. Your coffee is coming girl! I got you!
'Weave in your damn ends!' Had me laughing out loud! Really cheered me up on a rainy morning here in the UK. Gorgeous bag - I need to make this. Thanks Toni
Toni! This bag is gorgeous! Thank you for showing the design process. I can't tell you how inspiring this has been for me. Recently, I promised myself that I would use my crochet skills (among others) to start designing and writing down my patterns. This video found me at just the right time. Your content is wonderful. Keep up the inspiring work!
Toni, this bag is AWESOME! The colors are AMAZING and work together so well. I live in New Jersey where it is almost one year since stores no longer provide plastic bags. So, this bag would definitely be perfect for food or produce shopping! It is also terrific for carrying books! The weather here has been beautiful so I see a tremendous bag for a picnic where you can relax and knit or crochet outside!!!! Keep bringing more love and joy into our beautiful world through all your incredible works of art created with yarn! Thank you for sharing your talents with all your subscribers!!! You are a wonderful teacher!!!
Today you put a big smile on my face. Not only did you have a great time in my home town, you named your beautiful bag after the city where I live. Due to my current yarn allergies I wasn't able to attend this wonderful event. Glad you missed the heat. It's been very hot these past weeks and staying that way. Enjoy your new home. Some day I hope to meet you in person.
I love this bag, I would suggest buying a Dollar Store bag (cream color would look pretty.) Sewing it in covering the handles with stiches to prevent the stretching. It works well.
It is always a pleasure to watch one of your videos. I wasn’t in a very good mood this morning, but after watching this I am uplifted and inspired. Thank you!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bag and the colors are great! Yes I would love to see some stash busting projects. I have too much waiting to be used! Thanks for sharing! 💓
It's great to have some fun especially when you're happy with the finished project!! Yes, stash busting projects, please! I have a section of my yarn stash that is begging to finally be rescued from the shelves and I could also use some inspiration.
Toni- so many great takeaways! I especially enjoyed the reminder to create a "consciously built stash". That would be a video topic to build on:) As always, your joy is absolutely infectious...blessings!
That hit me too. On the one hand, I love seeing these giant walls of yarn in videos (I kind of miss seeing a bunch of yarn behind Toni), but on the other hand, I have gotten a lot more minimalist in my way of thinking, so hoarding is something I'm working on not re-inviting back into my life! I do have a stash of yarn, but there's something about it - I tend to choose the same brands or color palates, so this felt very validating to me that it's ok to occasionally add to my collection and I can build beautiful things from my intentional stash.
How wonderful you visited Portland! I flew into and out of Portland, July 7th and 13th, visiting my daughter, in Beaverton, for her 20th birthday! Beautiful weather....before the 100 degrees.
I love listening to you while I knit or crochet. You are sunshine. I really like the shimmer in this bag. It really works well. Looking forward to seeing what you make next. ❤
This kind of video content is for me. I really enjoyed watching u go thru the process. As you a person that wants to become a maker full time, this was extremely helpful for me. Ty. I did miss u the past week so I'm glad to catch up with u n see what u have been up to. Much love & God Bless
The bag is super cute and definitely inspiring! And since I know how much you preach about proper hand care, I have to comment that your hands look so great and moisturized!
Love watching you ,your so sweet n so real n tell it like it is , I smile while watching you n love your color choices n patterns . Keep it going with great ideas n tips
I love your instructional videos. Your tone your voice so pleasant to listen to. You make your projects seem so doable. Relaxing. You are appreciated!! Ok love this tote. I’m already overthinking the join as you go process. This I will tackle. I thank you again. Take care.
I love, love your bag and watching your thought process as you developed your Crochet Tote Bag....you have inspired me to use my yarn stash......I am glad you enjoyed your vacation....
Just this minute found your channel. There is so much out there on crocheting but hardly anything on designing. I enjoy designing but I’m winging it and don’t have much idea what I’m doing. Sometimes my ideas work and sometimes they are a mess. So thanks. BTW you have the most beautiful skin. Cheers from 🦘🌈
I enjoy how you make a DK weight usable. I tend to shy away from DK weight, but you made a bag!!!! Out of DK weight!!!! You always inspire me and I love how your designs make crochet current 🥰 thank you!!!!
I made a granny bag for my granddaughter using 19 small squares and 2 long handles. But I lined the bag and handles with a strong cotton. It works out much better when it is lined.
I have missed you so much. Had a problem with my right thumb due to making a centerpiece for my table. It ended up being almost the whole table. Thank you for sharing with us all.
I love your granny square bag. I'm going to try to make me one this weekend. Thanks so much for sharing. I love your style. On slow days I find myself watching your UA-cam videos. 🙂
Today my 13 yo daughter came to me and asked me if I knew how to crochet? I said yeah, my mom taught me years ago and maybe we could make something together. Then I said I just have to remind myself and hands how to move...so I UA-camd crochet videos and yours popped up and bam my mind was like oh yeah,...I remember! So thank you and now my daughter and I are making a bag and a blanket...this video totally gave me inspiration, thank you!
Hello 👋 my sweet Toni ! I love 💕 your sweater so so cute 🥰 So happy you enjoyed Portland! Thanks 🙏 to you and your review of the Bella Coco Athena Hooks , I ordered them and received them yesterday ! I love them 😍, they are beautiful, I have yet to try them myself but I’m sure I’m going to love them as well as you do. I will let you and Miss Jayne/ Bella Coco how I do with them , like I said though I can tell I’m going to love them and have them as. My fave go to hooks! Again thank you 🙏 Miss Toni and thanks 🙏 to Miss Bella Coco! 🥰🥰😘😘😘
Love, love, love the bag! I am more of a knitter than a crocheter, but I will try this! You are spot on about how great Portland is. I used to do there all the time on business, but we had time to do some exploring. I love flying in and out near Mount Hood!
We call it running in the tail ends in my part of the UK. Its my least favourite part of making any garment . However the payoff when you take the time to do it right is worth it. Love the bag , and love seeing the design process. ❤️
Hi Toni. Just wanted to drop a line (from Singapore) to say that I love your videos. You're a whole bag of laughs and your vids are super easy to follow too. Love your Baa-bie sweater!!!!
Thank you Toni. I love the granny square bag. I can't wait to make one myself with my stash. You are such a great inspiration to me. I just love you so much.
You were only an hour from where I live?! So glad you were able to enjoy some of what Oregon, and Portland, has to offer. Gorgeous bag, I think it spectacularly captures Oregon's beauty.
That bag is so cute. I usually crochet hats, scarves, and blankets but I haven't had the need for any of those things since moving down south. So your bag gave me ideas of different things for me to crochet. Thank you.
Toni, we miss you so much I'm so happy with your new move. I hope that everything went well and that your situated and happy with your new home. But girl we missed you can't wait to see what new things you have to tell us and show us so super excited!
I’d love to see small gift projects I can make for others in a day or week. Beginner to easy level. Holidays are coming but also i love gifting for teacher thank yous, thinking of you’s… etc…. I also love functional projects that I can use. 😉 currently working on your beginner stash bag as a gift bag snd it’s so great!!!
I've had my crochet grocery bag too after my state announced that no more plastic bag, and watching yours I'm planning to make one more. Your laugh is contagious by the way.🤣
Yet another great video! Love it! And the bag is pretty cute too😀 I really like how you've off-set the handles so the bag front isn't made up of the four squares. Very Clever!😍
I would love to see more stash buster yarn projects. I am looking to make a lot of crocheted items for the Christmas presents this year…with the cost of yarn increasing…trying to be more cost conscious and use alot if what I have…Bring it on girly…so excited!!!
This bag is absolutely adorable and I, too, think the granny stitch is THE best stitch. Thank you for sharing this. I normally slip stitch my granny squares for a sturdier connection but I’m interested in perfecting the JAYG method, as well!!
Absolutely gorgeous! As a UK resident, I’d be chuffed to have made that bag! Here in the UK we’ve had a ban on single-use plastic bags for years - we have ‘bags for life’. I have some lovely fabric ones that are sadly getting worse for wear, but it never occurred to me to crochet my own! Now I most definitely will - that Hobbii Universe yarn is on my wish list and you’ve given me the inspiration/excuse to buy it!!!
Thank you for the little blue print at the beginning! I often wonder so much about how everything is put together, that I don't really follow the video sometimes:)
There are so many wonderful things to say about this post! One: I loved your “invite” to join in on the inspiration and design! Two: watching the method you used is very informative. This went beyond the tutorial🌸. Finally, your joyful personality was throughout! Absolutely love your videos.
That tote is totes adorbs!! And inspired by my chosen home town. I loved watching your creative process, reminded me of my own!! ♥♥♥ I am a new crocheter (forever knitter and spinner) and love granny squares. So excited for the new dimension crochet is bring to my fiber arts repertoire. Thank you for being your amazing, beautiful, creative self.
Love granny squares. Found some yarn at Walmart that looks like a camouflage pattern when you crochet with it. Pretty cool when I looked at the finished square.
You have made my day! I love this. Wish I had discovered it a few days ago when I was stuck home with Covid....I could have whipped out a few of them. xoxo
My (conservative) family went to Washington state recently and complained every time we had to buy bags. Love your point of view on the subject and can’t wait to follow this pattern

Toni, you are too cute. Congrats on the beautiful bag.🥰Your delight with a successful project expresses exactly why I crochet.
Toni- so many great takeaways! I especially enjoyed the reminder to create a "consciously built stash". That would be a video topic to build on:) As always, your joy is absolutely infectious...blessings!
I absolutely agree. I never thought of doing that but it makes a whole lot of sense.
Toni, this is a very cute bag and to make it more sturdy and prevent stretching you can line it with fabric. that's what I do with my bags :)
Thought the same thing.
How wonderful you visited Portland! I flew into and out of Portland, July 7th and 13th, visiting my daughter, in Beaverton, for her 20th birthday! Beautiful weather....before the 100 degrees.

Late to the party here but LOVE this, Toni! So glad you loved Portland! Portland loves YOU!!!! (my kid and I watch you all the time!)
I made a granny square bag and lined it with fabric, which added strength and prevented things from falling through the holes. Yours is gorgeous.
Another brilliantly simple, polished project! Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your work on UA-cam.
I love stash busting projects. Granny squares are great for that and they are so easy to make. Thanks for sharing this video.

This bag is so pretty! The yarn colors are beautiful!
Love it. I live in Washington and we also have to provide our own bags. I've made 2 but didn't think about granny squares. Definitely making this!
The bag is super cute and definitely inspiring! And since I know how much you preach about proper hand care, I have to comment that your hands look so great and moisturized!

This happens to be one of my favourite tote bags. I loved the yarn choices! I would never have considered glitteryish yarn before.
Love this. I have used insulated materials to line some of my bags. Keeps cold things cold until i return home.
My (conservative) family went to Washington state recently and complained every time we had to buy bags. Love your point of view on the subject and can’t wait to follow this pattern
Thank you for putting the yarn in the description
I made one of these with left over wool and the gang cotton yarn! It's a great scrap buster thank you for the inspiration ❤️
It’s gorgeous and unique, love the way you did the handles
"unique"? Really?
