I did the tree and ratchet strap method and it worked great, just take it slow don’t rush it. Also, it’s better to start on a bigger tree and work your way down to a smaller tree, because the bigger the tree the more the tension on the metal is spread out, instead of all the tension being in the center, that’s when you snap a belt. Also wrap a towel around the tree before using the ratchet that way you don’t scratch your belt
I know that it's been four years, but do you remember how long you had the belt on the tree after tightening it? Also, did you remove the plate from the belt when doing the curve or did you leave the main plate on the belt?
How exactly did you set up the ratchet strap tree?? Did you have to take the main plate off first?? Or where you able to do it while the plate attached the strap?

Thegame4630 I did the curving before the belt was releathered. And yes the plate was taken off he stock strap before I did it.
Man, that's a delicate process on a 4mm thick plate.

To help make your replica look more like the belt used on TV. The simulated leather straps are inaccurate and are very stiff.
