its just like a car key. it can be inserted either way. i'm right handed so its easier for me to pick counter clockwise so I insert that way. if you're unlocking a car you wan to turn it to the direction the car unlocks. if you're making a key it doesnt matter. you just need to pick it and take a reading
Hello Any ideas, I’ve tried 2 HU100 locks, both won’t detect anything in 1-4 as if there stuck or missing but the blade key opens them. Is it a faulty lishi?
@@BoredLockpicker I had a push button Escalade yesterday. Didn't have an emergency key so I didn't have to worry about cutting a key, but I did pick and decode it for fun. I read cuts 6 - 10. My question is; When picked, the locked turned about 1/4 spin and stopped and did not unlock or lock the door. Has that been your experience? I did a push button Suburban and the Lishi did the same thing. It decoded correctly because I cut a key for that one (using instacode for cuts 1 - 5). I guess my real question is; If I were to only cut cuts 6 - 10 the key wouldn't work in the door? Thanks
im using a 10 cut for a 8 cut, I have been trying and nothing ..... its for a 2017 chevy Cruze which has all 8 cuts, for some reason I can't get number 2 to pick .. number 2 either gets over picked or is not at all.. is there anyway you can give a hand
I would definitely get the 8 cut Lishi. But you should be able to pick it with the 10 cut. Are you sure the second one isn’t a 4 cut? If it is it doesn’t need to be picked.
Hello there, legitimate question here. I have the gm39 lishi and I've successfully used it to decode a customers door lock in a 2003 chevy tahoe. They lost the key, and are certain that it worked in the doors so it should work in the ignition. I have the code, but I'm curious as to what I do now? Can I call a locksmith to make me a key? Can you make me a key? Honestly curious at this point I'm not incredibly sure as to what to do from here.
if you have the key code go t a locksmith shop and have them cut it. if you just have the cuts from the door you're gonna be missing two cuts for the ignition
@@clayton9136 you need to use a code fill program like insta code or lock codes and it will tell you the possibilities for the missing cuts. Sometimes there’s a few possibilities and you have to cut a couple keys to get it. The way most people do these is pick and remove the ignition and it has the actual key code stamped on it.
nah. I dont do a lot of automotive at all. I actually dont enjoy messing with cars to much. however I do love picking locks and love lishi tools. I even use the lishis for car lockouts instead of air bags and long reach tools. that said I do have 4 or 5 car key programmers and the high security key cutter and I keep a few thousand dollars in transponder car keys in stock so I can do car work as it comes it.
@@UptownZeus not that I know. The Lishi tools are named after the silca key blank name. If you’re in the United States and need to know what Lishi for a car you subscribe to myautosmart app it tells you which lishI or just look up the key blank for the vehicle and cross reference it to get the silca number. Also If you look at my channel there’s a playlist with around 80 Lishi videos.
Always great. Question, what do you do with all the locks you pick, decode and make keys for?
Hang on to them.

Can’t even begin to fathom how many hours I’ve practiced this stuff
Looking at your video and trying to learn how to use the Lishi, I notice you are using upside down and putting pressure to the left. Does it matter?

How would you get the other cuts in order to turn the ignition?
code fill program like insta code or lock codes
How do you find which Lishi you need ? Looking for 2013 impala & 2020 e class Benz
Look up the silca key blank. Lishi tools are named after the silca blank in most cases
Hello
Any ideas, I’ve tried 2 HU100 locks, both won’t detect anything in 1-4 as if there stuck or missing but the blade key opens them. Is it a faulty lishi?
Sounds like the lock doesn’t have wafers in those positions
Same happens for me
How do you knew you had to use HU110? Is there a reference book or something? Can you post a link to it?
Myautosmart app is good. Or just look up the silca key blank. The Lishi tools are named after them
Can the 10-cut hu100 be used instead of the 8-cut hu100 or will i require both for the spread of high security chevy/gmc vehicles?
Easier to decode 8’cut locks with the 8
Cut tool. If I was gonna only get one I’d buy the 8 cut. Should just buy them both though
@@BoredLockpicker wow fast reply thank you sir. I have the 10, I will be buying the 8-cut, but just wanted to know.
@@jeremyjackson9189 I never use the ten cut unless I have to pick an ignition which is super rare

Is there a Mr lishitool for decoding the Yale type locks?
no there isnt. they cant make for the keyway because its narrow and has that "curve" to it

Will this work with a 2020 Malibu door ?
You would need to look up what silca blank the vehicle uses. Lishis are named after the silca brand blank
