    The button under the hood is the emergency release in case someone get's trapped in there. It does work, you just didn't know what it was for.

      Most of the time those types of buttons work to close it as well. Doesn’t change the fact that the key fob closing wouldn’t work either

    I’m sure these won’t cost 100k for long, they’re already discounting the Blazer EV quite aggressively

    You enable carplay, plugin phone -> truck home -> car play -> activate. There after it works whenever that phone is plugined in.

    I'm not really an electric guy but this is a cool truck. I probably never be able to afford it but I like it. I dont like that panoramic sunroof glass though. My luck, one hailstrom and that glass is going.

    The button inside the eTrunk is to open the hood in case you get trapped inside. It's not programmed to close the hood.

      Doesn’t seem like any buttons are programmed to close the hood

    I’m a gas Silverado guy, love this truck so diverse . 98% of the time I’m just running around town, but those two trips to Louis at 1000 miles away and Denver 1700 miles away I’m not sure if I want to manage range. 96 is high, if they want me in it they should be in the 60 range.

    I have driven the Equinox EV and Blazer EV. I found the interior trim panels to be very thin and flexible compared to my 2019 Equinox. Like they are trying to save weight and plastic with the new construction and it really made the interior parts that don’t get as much touch feel really cheap. The textured panel at the front of the dash on the Equinox EV had so much flex I’d be worried applying pressure when cleaning it. Does the Silverado have similar issues?

    This thing is infinitely better at being an actual truck than the Cybertruck.

    • @MetzTech
      @MetzTech  3 місяці тому

      Not sure I’d say infinitely. But it is definitely better at it, but much less enjoyable to drive

    Looks like the truck is in transport mode to dealer. It doesn't let everything work.
    Out of spec reviews says this is the only truck out that can do all the things a truck buyer would want to do.

    Looks like the Silverado is for truck drivers who want a better truck experience. The Cybertruck is for people who want to know what it feels to be a truck driver.

    Hands down much better than the Cybertruck. You listed feature after feature yourself. Who cares about 0-60 in 2 seconds. How quickly will you get bored of that? The Silverado EV is feature rich, and it has buttons! Buttons. I can't wait for the Ram Revolution truck. I would prefer the Ramcharger hybrid truck. But, legacy automakers win again! By the way, Tesla has admitted to defeat, but now they're a robotics company.😂

      Imma be honest…the buttons thing is an exhausting argument. I have never once wished any of my cars had more buttons

      @@MetzTechI agree. There are some instances in some vehicles where a certain feature is buried in a menu, and the knee-jerk reaction seems to be “it just needs a button for convenient access to said feature”. Truth is, a quick software update enabling access to the menu-buried feature on the screen solves the issue, AND then everybodys vehicle gets updated, I don’t have to buy a new vehicle if I want the “button”.

    the squirrelly steering, I've found on every EV that has a lil too much torque. My Fiat 500e does it. You get used to it, but it takes some time.

    • @MetzTech
      @MetzTech  3 місяці тому

      I have never experienced that in an EV. I’ve driven a lot of them

      @@MetzTech My Chevy Bolt EV also has squirrelly steering if I floor it, exactly like the Silverado did, and it is significantly less powerful.

    It's a Chevy EV Truck, not a luxury EV. What that move up to Buick, GMC for leather and others stuff that won't get dirty with mud. ;-(

      I get that. The GM system is really nice if you give it a chance. I never missed CarPlay in my Model 3. I have it now in my Equinox and like it but losing it isn’t a dealbreaker, for me. As long as GM pulls through with OTA down the line I think it will keep getting better.

    I'm not going to lie. GM built a better EV truck than Tesla in many aspects. However, Tesla has that new Uniqe look. Again, I'm not knocking traditional trucks, but we need some new styles, in my opinion. From many videos the range is better than the tesla and charges even faster than a tesla. The only think holding me back is the price, also I wish they didn't go so round with everything but I know why they did aerodynamics. I like the box look of GM and chevy, even ford has that sleek look, but a mans truck is blocky in my opinion.

      Tesla looked at the advantages versus disadvantages when sizing the battery. Bigger battery means more weight, which can lead to adverse conditions. Same with faster charging, which can lead to shorter battery life or degradation. Tesla chose optimum specs. Having a 205 kwh battery would be very nice in the event of an outage at home. I can only imagine what the cost would be to replace that battery.
