It all comes down to the way that DTG have scripted each train. The class 800 can go at 140mph in train sim whereas a HST can only go at 125 mph despite the fact that it went at 148mph once IRL. (The HST is an old Kuju train anyway, DTG new to make a new one.)
These races need to be in groups. Race 1= Electric Loco only, so race the electric locomotives without any rolling stock. BR class86-92 were all electric powered. Then Race 2 = Diesel Loco only. Same again without any rolling stock. BR class 37 40 43 47 60 66 Deltic all Diesel powered. Then do the same with the DMU and EMU and the races will be far more interesting. In reality x2 hst power cars on there own would leave the rest behind as the rest were longer/heavier trains so just do the locos on there own. I reckon the class 66 on its own would smash anything until it hit its max speed

btw the pendolino can go at 140 mph and so can the great western railway train and the meridian is not that fast. the javelin gwr azuma and pendolino should be first due to their higher top speeds and the postal train should be at the back

@@jammyrtx4401 two things to note 1) class 810 doesn't exist yet? it's not been built so not sure what you are talking about 2) even if there is a significant difference in acceleration, because javalin does 140mph whereas everything else is limited to 125mph, and the race was long enough that all the trains were running at top speed, it would win.

There is no 172s in this race. The WestMidlandsRailway turbostar you can see is a 170, but yeah the 170 deserves a badge for effort

The 66s highest speed is 75 mph, whereas type 4s aka 40s 47s and the like can go to 100
