Homemade Tiny BBQ Grill

- This was my response to Grant Thompson's Bitty Q mini grill:
Here's an even easier homemade mini BBQ grill design. No need to mess with special brackets, hinges, handles, or nuts and bolts with this DIY project.
All you will need is two aluminum bread pans, a wire clothes hanger, sandpaper, a pair of players, and three small binder clips. It will also be helpful to have a pocket knife or multi tool.
This mini grill should comfortably hold 3 charcoal briquettes.
Before striking-up the grill make sure it is on a heat resistant surface.
Once the coals are hot you're ready to grill.
WARNING: Although this mini grill is small it will get extremely hot... so be careful!

On August 15, 2014 (a month after I posted my video) CrazyRussianHacker blatantly stole my original mini grill design and is now getting hundreds of thousands of views for it. Copying is the highest form of flattery... so they say.
For the record:
Yes, I did get my inspiration for this mini grill design from Grant Thompson's (The King of Random) "How To Make The Bitty-Q - (A Drink-Can BBQ)" • How To Make The Bitty-...
...but my design, while similar in concept, is very different in style and construction.

Improvised grills are the best grills!
Wow dude,l love this,so cheap and easy. I let my 9 and 7 year old watch this. Now they want to make a bigger one....THANK YOU SO MUCH... Funds are low right now,so glad we came across this video
On August 15, 2014 CrazyRussianHacker blatantly stole my _original_ design and is now getting hundreds of thousands of views for his video... *sigh* I guess they say, "copying is the highest form of flattery".
Umm I'm going to use it for a side burner for my BIG grill, they said 200 more dollars for side burner now I get a cheap 20 dollar one
I watch this first and probably going to make it from this video
Sucks to suck
I know it..... Crazyrussianhacker mostly copies other' s ideas.... Copying is one common thing on youtube so chill :) nice idea!
chaz1031 I DID get the basic concept from Grant Thomson's Bitty-Q.... However, my Mini Grill is completely different in design and construction. CrazyRussianHacker copied my video completely, step by step. I never said this was my original idea, I said it was my original design.
Really handy and easy to make for less than $10. I also like the fact that it's also easily disposable when your done . Can't wait to make one.
Thanks!
This gave me an idea, I can probably adapt a small rotisserie onto this thing. Just need a small motor....woll do a chicken leg on it.👌👍🤣🤣
This is a genius creation of an idea I had and I'm trying it, thanks. I was looking 4 a stove top version using 3 larger aluminum trays. 1 tray to hold coals and 2 for the pit. I especially love your use of the clips...To me THAT is genius.
Please do not burn charcoal or set fires indoors without adequate ventilation. Aside from the general "burning your house down" dangers of fires, the carbon monoxide from the burning process of charcoal can be an invisible risk.
i just has gastric bypass and was looking for a very small grill but everything seemed huge for just 1 or 2 scallops . this is perfect ! thanks for sharing :)
Really NICE! One of the best looking and best functional improvised grills on YT!
Thanks! :)
Even until now , this method brings benefits to the outdoors ! Thanks !
you are so precise in any thing you do. lovely creativity
I made it! It has to be one of the coolest things I have made(: thanks for posting!
u are quite the smart dude. I thought of alot of things to use to make a quick portable grill but not this. your idea is awesome I just may have to make one. one day soon
This is beast, no joke I made one of these ages ago and was waiting for someone to create a video on it, because I needed to make some changes to it ( it kind of melted...) thank you for creating this video buddy :)
How much charcoal did you put in it?
I love when people make awesome things like this !!
OMG I'm crazy about this... About to try this using a bigger pan and the grill thingie from my oven. Thumbs up!
gr8 one.... tried this at home.... really saved my time n bucks.... kudos mate.
I love this idea of small bbq. Easy and you don’t any special tools. Luv it
Knowage is knowage you learn something new each day, thank you.
Awesome. I will definitely make one or more of these. Thanks for the post.
this is awesome! probably making one in the future
WOW !!!! THANK U I love grilled food but have limited money for charcol...this is the solution!!!
You*
i tried this and it works great!! the only issue was the grate sliding around, and sometimes falling into the coals. next time i will make one bigger than the grill. i ended up using my cheese grater (one of the flat kinds) as a grate. works pretty good.
I made this and used it when I was camping. It worked great and I still use it
Awesome! Great little idea, I love it!
Thank you :)
Such a great idea. Thank you so much for making this video for us. Shared on my FB page. Looking forward to trying this out! (:

Awesome buddy loved this video
It's very easy .. good job brother and nice video
Thanks!
If you break up the charcoal briskets with that brick, then add to the grill and light, you can cook better.
Bella idea... complimenti... ciao dall'Italia
Very cool video !
Good idea, love it
thanks for posting the vid
I am going to make one of these but am following your plans. I hate it when people copy others and don't give credit....

OMG SO GENIUS
Fantastic!!
I ran out at night, i made it instantly.
Great Idea 💡
I really like this

Awesome. I'm thinking of making it a tad bigger by using roasting pans.
Sounds like a great plan!
you sir, are going to be famous :)
awesome!
very very nice man!
Nice. Very good yet simple design.
A next step could be to use long fish cans or spam cans. More durable but heavier and more difficult to make.
wonderful !
that's really cool
nice build
Thanks a lot
Wooow easy and cute, love it, Ill do it ;)))
Love it!!!
More like that?

Your voice is so calm peaceful and it just sounds so nice😰😍😌😹😻
I tried it and it worked
You did good jom 👍👍
Can you use larger (and deeper) aluminum pans, larger clips and maybe double up the bottom pans since it would require more charcoal? Maybe put sand between the 2 bottom pans for insulation? And use a rack from a regular roasting pan?
+Claudette Robb Ross Sure thing! You could easily scale this grill up with bigger pans, and a layer of sand on the bottom is a BRILLIANT idea!
If I was going to scale it up, I might just place a layer of brick for the bottom and sides, and use a pan as a lid. A steel cookie sheet might be even better as a lid.
Simply Super...
@ehullquist You can use a aluminium bbq grill with the cross too right? other then hanger
Nice!
Any ideas on how long the grill will last?
also instead of binder clips you can use wire to create the handle and hinges (you dont have to worry about plastic then.)
No idea how long it would last, but its super cheep and easy to make so you could always make a new one if/when it dies. Wire would work, but the binder clips are SO much easier (and don't have any plastic on them).
awesome
Nice one.
Awesome
Nice job. My only concern is the unknown metal of the coat hangar and possible toxic issues.
Good idea 👍🇬🇧❤️
Cool!
The best ever!!!! Super! 👍❤🙏💥💥💥💥💥🥰
I think it's funny how much flack I get for mentioning the "veggie dog". I guess people assume that I'm an animal rights PETA vegan but that couldn't be further than the truth. I'm NOT a preachy vegetarian, in fact I sometimes DO eat meat. I don't care what someone else eats... I don't judge. They can do whatever they want. Meh...
The veggie dog didn't bother me at all. It's that damn WHOLE WHEAT HOT DOG BUN!!! Not to mention the ketchup! But, you know what I say, "Live and let live."
a hot dog is a hotdog no matter what and berad is bread
boxfox reyes You're right, berad is bread.
yeah dont worry.. ignore others...
thanks. I don't care if you eat meat or anything. I'm not vegetarian neither
