As much as I loved the tribute to Kamina when they formed the ultimate gunmen, I felt I liked the original more, where when they went straight for the final blow in the original gunmen. But both were equally great in their own aspects as the movie showed a bit more action for the fight compared to the original though.

I havr things I love more about each version of it, some examoles being Lagann pretty much gaining sentience and throwing Simon for the last bit of distance so Simon could box out the anti-spiral and proceed to use his blood to create a drill for the finishing move, the tribute to Kamina in STTGL, throwing galaxies around to fight, the theme playing during the fight, Row Row Fight The Power playing when rescuing Nina the more action like you mentioned, Lagann piercing the anti-spiral .Those are just a few different things about each i love. For this being better if have to go watch both versions of the final fight again. Some of these may happen in both as its been awhile since I've etched either version

I want to like the show, but that part of it is just such a big deterrent to me.
I guess it's just as exaggerated and over the top as everything else in the anime. Also, she kind of subverts the useless eye candy trope by having a sizeable impact in most of the important fights. As well as being central to the show's focus on character development throughout the episodes following Kamina's death.

I really like your cover of this song. Very good vocal delivery. I like how the first verse sounds like it's from Kamina's perspective and the second verse from that of "SEE-mohn". (I looked it up, I know it's supposed to be the Ancient Greek pronunciation, I'm just being petty) I bought this on iTunes some years ago. I'm not an expert on sound mixing, but the overall mix sounds really low compared to every other song I have on iTunes (now using Music), and I think the mic is peaking or something on the S-sounds, especially in the first verse. This song came on while I was out for my morning walk. A small mountain I've always wanted to climb was about 100 feet away.

I really like your cover of this song. Very good vocal delivery. I like how the first verse sounds like it's from Kamina's perspective and the second verse from that of "SEE-mohn". (I looked it up, I know it's supposed to be the Ancient Greek pronunciation, I'm just being petty)
I bought this on iTunes some years ago. I'm not an expert on sound mixing, but the overall mix sounds really low compared to every other song I have on iTunes (now using Music), and I think the mic is peaking or something on the S-sounds, especially in the first verse. I haven't noticed this listening to it again on UA-cam.

I have never heard the full English version of this song before, but oh my God, this hurts my heart, but in a good way. Like the line saying that he was following his shadow, and ill sieze my own fate, is amazing, and it captures what Simon goes through perfectly. I love gurren lagann and this opening. It is one of if not the most inspirational and badass anime I have seen

The song itself starts out slow. But from that 1:34 mark (especially in this cover) on is amazing. And it remains amazing until the end all these years later. I keep coming back to these amazing people and seeing that I'm not subbed to them yet, forgetting that I created a new account. I feel like a dumbass every time.

I first heard this song and watch the anime at a low point in my life,both spoke to me in practically the same way.
Both helped me gave me the boost i needed to get past all that was troubling me,Caleb's passion in the singing of this song really captures Gurren Lagann's message(at least in my opinion)
This is literally my favorite anime. It uses giant robot in a comedic manner and has a great cast of characters
