Same happened on my VNL 2013. This caused def to travel through wires into the def ecu on tank, it also ruined the wiring and they had to replace the front chassis harness. Total bill at Volvo Beaver here in Winnipeg 6775$. Peace of SHIT. Garbage!!!!!! The pump is 2300$ alone!!!! Freightliner pump is 680$. I am moving to freightliner.
Since I'm working on both brands, I would say they have their own problems too. All this technology is fairly new, I would give them a couple years and it will get better.

Except DEF is not flammable. It's a mixture of water and urea.
