    Hello, I am dealing with hair loss. How many times during the week do you wash your hair? The reason I am asking is because of the oils you are using.
    I was diagnosed with Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia and was told by a trichologist not to use oils on my scalp. I was told the only thing that can be done for Frontal Fibrosing Alopecia is to stop the spreading. However, to stop the spreading, you have to control the inflammation.
    I am glad that you don't have alopecia. It is so difficult and heartbreaking when you have been diagnosed with it.

      Thank you so much for commenting and sharing your story. Yes, alopecia can be difficult to manage and its heartbreaking to hear that in your case there are limited options available. Did the trichologist say that because some oils can clog pores? if so, there are other oils that can clean out clogged pores. I talked about some of them in an earlier video about scalp oils, but there is a youtuber named Deepa Barrar. She has alopecia and has grown her hair back twice. She has recommendations for diet, lifestyle and scalp treatments that I think would be helpful. I really appreciate that you took the time to share your story and I think many viewers will benefit, so I'm pinning this. Take care and have a beautiful and blessed day... xo Cheryl

      yes! If you go to my video "Oils for Hair & Scalp" I think you'll find everything you need, including a link to the comedogenic scale and to the Curly Chemistry channel (she's a cosmetic chemist who really explains in detail how oils work). I can't link it because YT will pull the comment, but you can search for it on my channel!

    Well I can tell a HUGE difference in your hair!!! The length, to start out with! The thickness, the shine!! It’s so good that you took the before pics because you can really see a difference! Love the red tint to your hair, btw! The massager, for me, was 90% of my success, and maybe concentrating on more protein in my diet? That’s really all I did and I’m impressed with how my hair has thickened up in the last year! Btw, you look absolutely energized!! I’m going to use your code and order that green powder for G, for sure! Hugs, j

      Hi Jessie! Yes, I'm really pleased and excited w/ the quality of my hair now. It looks like it grew 3 inches in 6 months, which is amazing and the strands do look stronger and shinier. Time to start the massager! Happy weekend, my friend... Love and hugs, Cheryl

    You've been a slacker using your scalp massager, Cheryl!! I understand getting excited when you find something that really works!! The shampoo really is thick! The most recent pic of your hair from the back (not highlighting the sparse area) really looks healthy (your hair, not the pic, lol). Love you, my smart, and beautiful friend...MaryEllen

    I had the same problems and went to the doctor and everything. After a few years of being traumatized, I got wind that rosemary oil is a healer and a builder from the influencers. I am completely healed, it grew back.

    You have one of the sweetest smiles ! I'm bad about remembering to use my head massager, too....but , it's like you said ! There are so many things to remember to do! Then I'll add something new & something drops off my radar! But I love the head massager. It feels so good! It's Spring but feels like winter in Ohio. I'm enjoying our daffodils, tho! Oh my gosh, they are so beautiful !! I need to cut some & bring them inside. I have a cobalt blue pitcher & I'm telling you, daffodils in that pitcher is gloriously pretty !!!

      Oh you paint a beautiful picture of those daffodils! We just had another rain storm today after about 2 weeks of dry sunny weather and the garden looks really good. I have a bed of ranunculus each one w/ about 8 or 10 buds and I CAN NOT WAIT for them to open, lol! Thanks so much and I decided to put the head massager right next to the computer - so as soon as I finish typing out my replys I'm going to reward myself w/ a nice massage... Happy Saturday my friend! xo Cheryl

    Okay I have comments all over the place so please read the one under Tracy's comment because I'm talking to you there as well and I went back to view your pictures again and I'm recalling that you said that you wear your hair up most times. I recall when I first started losing hair at the crown of my head I was also pulled up and using a probably Dollar General chocolate to hold it in place and when scarring was mentioned to me, my first thought was that that claw clip teeth were scratching my scalp and causing damage and hair loss. You might want to think about how you're wearing your hair too in case that pool is too much tension and could be causing some of that hair loss for all of it.

    • @FreeRangeDiva
      @FreeRangeDiva  5 місяців тому

      Thanks for the tip. I use a silk scrunchie about 90% of the time. When I'm filming, I'll put it in a clip, then take it out when I'm done. Occasionally, I'll wear one out, but I try not to wear them too often. So far, I haven't felt any pulling.

    Your hair is so very healthy and full! I've been down the same route as you, lotions, devices and steroids too. Nothing helped until I went to a new dermatologist and he gave me a script for oral minoxidil. Who knew! I've been on it a year now and the growth is amazing. I just can't believe it that all those years I struggled. I could cry.

    Hi Cheryl, thanks for posting this helpful and informative video! Your hair looks great..very healthy. I got the massager after seeing your original video on it. I’ve been using it for 3 months and see a few hairs growing in at the hairline. I can’t tell if there is any re-growth at the crown. I think it will be effective over time. My scalp definitely feels a lot better. I’ll check out the products in the links. Thanks and have a wonderful weekend! 🙂🌺☀️

    I can see your hair is getting thicker. But the first thing you need to consider is to stop coloring your hair. Come and join us and become a Gorgeous Gray, you will thank me later. I was having the same problem, I make my own oils also using some of the same oils you used also adding rosemary and tea tree and a few others also massaging my scalp daily. I use to use coconut oil but it started to break my scalp out and I realized this by process of elimination, and I did change my diet as you said, this really made a difference all around but the color is poison and cause a lot of problems, I’m sure you heard about the law suites about hair colors for black women.

    • @FreeRangeDiva
      @FreeRangeDiva  5 місяців тому

      Hi there! Thank you for your thoughtful reply and suggestions. If you search for the "comedogenic scale" it lists oils by the likelihood that they will clog pores (coconut oil rates high) but there are several that rank really low. It's very helpful info. I'm not ready to go grey yet, but I do have a couple of cute grey wigs that I can throw on when I don't feel like dealing w/ my hair, lol! Take care and have a great week... xo Cheryl

    Don’t know if you ever mentioned this in the past but dying hair with henna and indigo has greatly improved my hair. I think your hair looks thicker. Did you ever consider minoxidil? That’s a shame steroids are giving you a headache. Perhaps a different steroid? Oh I always wanted to try Rahua! I wish you well.

    • @sable7114
      @sable7114 5 місяців тому

      I was prescribed some low-grade steroid for my scalp and it didn't work. I didn't have any itching but I do right now but I just shampooed yesterday and I really work this shampoo into my scalp, a new one. Now I need to find something minty, a minty oil to put on my scalp to help with the itch. And also I've heard that the dandruff shampoo helps with inflammation Cheryl if you're also reading this response. Cheryl I hope you are reading this also because it occurred to me that a lot of times when we use things for hair growth, we get hair shed first to get rid of all of the loose hairs that are about to shed. Maybe that's what's happening instead of it actually getting worse. It really hasn't been that long and as I understand the shedding can last a while and can be quite scary but if you just hang in there, it will get better meaning don't stop what you're doing.

      I did try henna once but unfortunately I hated the way my hair felt. It was rough, like a paper bag. IDK if I did it wrong, but it really dried out my hair.... I'm glad it's working for you, though!! I looked into minoxidil, but decided it wasn't for me.

    Hi I just wanted to say that I happened upon your video on accident and I just wanted to offer you some advice. I have had a lot of hair breakage and thinning due to excessive bleaching and coloring mainly during covid and I've done a lot of research on how to get thicker hair and how to get regrowth and what I came across was red light therapy. You can purchase different styles of red light therapy some of it comes in masks for your face for fine lines and wrinkles some of it comes in Matt's kind of like a heating pad to Target you know different areas of your body and the way it works is that the infrared lights penetrate way further into your body than a heating pad would and they stimulate new cell growth and it has been proven to repair stretch marks scars stimulate hair growth it diminishes fine lines and wrinkles and dark spots and things on your face and so I just wanted to let you know about that so you could try that and see if it works for you I hope this was helpful God bless.

      Thank you, I really appreciate your very thoughtful, honest comment about your experiece w/ red light therapy and its benefits for skin & scalp. I have several red light therapy devices and in my last update, I mentioned that I would be using my CurrentBody device on my head to see if it made a difference. i haven't been consistent with it, however, I may be getting a helmet type soon. If I do, I will definitely update everyone on it. Your comment reminded me to be more consistent! Thanks again and have a beautiful and blessed day... xo Cheryl

    Okay your hair does look thicker when I'm looking at you straight on and also from the back but when you separate it comparing 2023 to the current, I can see what you're talking about and I don't understand. Don't know if your dermatologist gave you a specific name for your alopecia but you really should consider a hair regrowth helmet, not that I know anything right now but I know that I have been told I have scarring Alopecia which these helmets should not help but I'm hopeful. If you don't have scarring alopecia, then it's on. The helmet might be the answer to your problems. Wear your hair down if you would like but with a headband and that should control any Breeze that might go by. I used to just hold mine down with my hand making people think I had a headache to keep the wind from blowing it up and exposing. And how about this, go USC lady gamecocks! Let's bring home another championship!😊🙌

    • @FreeRangeDiva
      @FreeRangeDiva  5 місяців тому

      According to my derm, I don't have alopecia or anything physically wrong that's causing it. He feels like it will grow back on its own. The steroid was to give it a boost (apparently a side effect of steroid use is hair growth) and calm any surface inflammation. Thanks for the tip about the helmet! I do have high hopes for the new oil though.

    Okay, me again chatty Sable. I'm looking at the Live It Up greens and for some reason it's not letting me pull up the ingredients or comparisons so just a quick question, is that a one month supply or how long does it actually last? It's a bit expensive but I take a lot of supplements and if I can get them all or most combined in one package then that would be quite reasonable. Wonder how it compares to the ag1 greens and once I purchase wheatgrass and The Taste was horrible even when I put it in a smoothie.

    • @FreeRangeDiva
      @FreeRangeDiva  5 місяців тому

      Hi Chatty Sable! So one scoop of the powder is one serving and their are 30 servings to the package. HOWEVER... one scoop is 2 tsp. and I use one healthy teaspoon as my serving size, so at this rate it should last me about 2 months. This definitely has a better taste than wheatgrass (although I like the taste of wheatgrass) - this is more like a fruit punch... really sweet. They actually have a blog post written by a dietician comparing it to AG1. If you go to any page and scroll all the way down to the bottom, you'll see the Comparisons section right next to the Help section! It's an interesting read.
