    Your vids have been inspiring.
    I’m strongly thinking about taking the plunge and give this model ship building a try. The ships look so cool and I’d always wanted to play a naval war game in the age of sail.
    Btw, which paint kit would contain all the colors that you used? Or did you buy yours individually? Thanks again!

      You’re welcome! My paints were from like 4 years ago and it was part of Army Paint’s big paint kit. The speedpaints are more recent. Like 2 years old. Those also came in a kit. Check out Army Painter’s website for all their latest offerings.

    On behalf of all of us new to the game, thank you for your entire series of Black Seas videos! Out of curiosity, is there a reason why you glued in the masts before you painted the ship, versus painting the masts and ship separately? Is it just a matter of personal preference? Thank you!

      Thank you, I really appreciate that! This black seas series has been a labor of love because I really do enjoy the game very much. It’s rewarding to share the whole hobby experience with others!
      Regarding your question, yes, it is definitely a matter of preference because you can paint with the masts either on or off, whichever works better for you. For me, I found it easy enough to work around the large spaces between the masts so I just painted all my ships fully assembled.

      @@no.6minis Any plans to do videos on any of the smaller ships, like cutters, sloops, and schooners?

      @@erichhemm2848 I actually did a few videos on a clipper and sloop of war. But I do have a box of schooners I’m about to work on.

    In this game, are sails detachable for game situations or are they permanently attached to the ship?

    • @no.6minis
      @no.6minis  6 місяців тому +1

      That’s an interesting question. The short answer is usually people model the ships with sails always fully deployed permanently. That’s how I did it and Warlord games does too.
      However. If you want, you can magnetize the sails so you can add or remove them to represent various states of sail (or anchor). But it may be a lot more effort and work involved!

    What Airbrush-Equipment do you use?

      I currently use a Master brand gravity fed airbrush and a Harbor Freight compressor. I also have an airbrushing booth and a respirator face mask. It’s not fancy but it’s gotten the job done for me over thousands of points of miniatures.
      I have a video on it. Around the 1 min 6 sec mark it explains my setup and what you can do to start airbrushing without much cost. Hope this helps!
