I have been carving ever since I was 13 years old, until 1990, when I had a severe case of Spinal Meningitis, nearly died, BUT I TRUSTED GOD THE SON, JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH; NOW FOR OVER 41 YEARS LATER, STILL AM!!! That bout took all my 19 art forms from me, but want to pick up my tools even with memory problems; BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE... for me!!!! Here's a hint, since your Eagle is looking to the right, carve a shallow hole slightly to the left in it's eye, it will make it stare more realistically, just saying, AWESOME CARVING, KEEP IT UP!!!, Living here in Thomson Center in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. @@wilkinsonwoodcarving Make your line drawing on a piece of clear plastic and you can lay it on top of the carving when you want to re-reference. Use a small V tool or U gouge to outline your drawing instead of the knife. Makes your borders much cleaner.
