I believe that this is the most realistic and life-like depiction of a bald eagle that I have seen. Gorgeous carving ! Well done! Thank you for sharing your creation...
I just got my latest Wildfowl carving Magazine in the mail with your article on carving the eagle head. Finding this video was a real bonus. I subscribed and also want to thank you for your willingness to share of your methods and information.
That is so lifelike any mouse would jump out of its skin if it happened upon that carving! ===================================================================================================
Nice, VERY nice. I was wondering about the ring around its neck where the two pieces of wood were joined. The finished eagle head that ring was gone. I'm guessing the painting filled it in?
The burning that I did was to add a finer texture to the surface compared to the white feathers that weren't burnt. It wasn't done for the color the burning creates.
Hello Jason - Its amazing to see what it requires to carve at this level of quality. How many hours total did this take in total? Thank you for taking the time to record this...

@@danielhanawalt4998 I used 5 minute epoxy to join the pieces and it filled the joint line perfectly. Thank you for watching!
Amazing and wonderful work. But I wanted to know what is the use of burning if it will be covered with paint. With thanks and appreciation

I spent around a month on this. I didn't keep track of the hours though.
Too bad you lost the painting, it's where I need the most help. Old fart eyes 👀, but next time is always better.
Yes, I sure wish I had that part too.
I just did an article in Wildfowl Carving Magazine on this eagle bust. The painting instructions will be in the Summer 2023 issue.
Wow🔥
