At 15:12 you talk about the not being surprised when losing battery life. I've been testing out the Surface604 Colt for the past 2 days and I was totally caught off guard when the battery died on me after just 1.5 hours of biking (about 25k). The battery showed half full, yet going up hills in Vancouver it would flash the battery dead sign for 5-10 seconds, then I'd be left to pedal without assist for a about 10 seconds, then it'd kick back on and show a quarter battery again, then quickly die. I was very upset at the inaccuracy of the gauge as I was very far from home and it didn't let me plan out my trip. It eventually died after about 2 minutes of that. The next day I borrowed a battery from a friend that had half battery, and I got the same result. Is this something that is common? Am I doing something wrong? I must state that I am in love with the product when it works. Rides smooth and feels amazing. But if I can't figure out why the battery died so fast (and more importantly, why it so randomly stops working) then I could never buy it. It pretty much left me hanging and a trip that should have taken 25 minutes ended up taking 1 hour.
I have this bike for almost a year now and use it for work comute all year long even in extreme cold and snow.Very durable ,well design and comfortable.I really enjoy it .Only weak part was toolless adjustable stem but it was replaced by Surface 604 after my complaint and I really appreciate it on their part.I added seat post suspension suntour ncx that works perfect for me on my pothole filled roads in Brooklyn.Their customer service is responsive and helpfull. Also I would love them to change in future bikes to full power throttle override on all levels of assist. For quality and all the features you get, price is great. Thanks for great video review by EBR that really helped my with my choice of new ebike for comute.
As a proud owner of a RadCity, i found an easy way to close that rubber charge port cover that is shown in this video. Use a flat head screw driver in one hand and the other on the plug cover. Line up the plug by pushing it to the center with the screw driver, then just push it straight on. It drove me bonkers the first few times trying to push that on, with the screw driver it takes me 10 seconds. Hope that helps anyone.
I have this bike and it's awesome! Accelerates fast even on the steepest hills and has amazing range. And damn sexy too, I get compliments all the time. Only con is the weight, and it can only go 20-21 mph unless you pedal hard for a few extra mph
Nice bike and a good price point to boot. Very compelling package for the commute to work or weekend rides on park paved trails. Even trips to the store with some panniers on the back rack seem like would not be a hassle at all. Too bad there are no dealers close by for a test ride, although the bike seems to be very adjustable with the upright seating position and the adjustable stem.
Hmm that 604 hits a lot of the right marks. Peddle assist and throttle, daily drive with a little bit of weekend warrior built in. The price puts it way at the top of my list.
If I was shopping for another ebike this would be it. Similar spec as my RadRover and with with better components. I would be recommending this bike to my friends definitely. I wish they had black colors though.
I'm not sure these guys are still in business anymore. I've called sales and service several times and emailed them several times with no response or answer.
A very poor HOW To video. First, the employee doesn't even know the correct name of the tools, hint that isn't a crescent wrench. Secondly, the employee doesn't know the nomenclature of the various bike parts. Third, Black on Black, IE Black gloves/Black coat equals poor view. Fourth, the battery doesn't come attached to the bike. I don't believe Federal Regulations would allow it to be shipped in that manner! With the first introduction to your company being a poor quality video, it makes the new/potential bike owner question whether your company is selling an excellent product and has the professional experience to actually build an above standard electric bike. Remember one picture is worth a thousand words and one professional video is worth a million words in todays social media circles!

Good running into you at Cit-e-Bikes in Vancouver. Your input really helped out and was appreciated.

Did you get one? How did your purchase end up?
Nice bike for the price. Looks clean. A little off road and urban too.
I am thinking about going cross-country trip with this bike would it be appropriate?

Pete From OC was just thinking its the colour holding me back from buying. unless the white is reflective, it isn't worth the muck lol.
