    71 hemi cuda is my favourite car too, too bad it's one that's in the 50-100k range just for a beat up body.
    .
    When I was in school, all the guys wanted those ricers, I drove a muscle car and got much more attention, so I loved rubbing it in their faces.

    These cars were not painted underneath from the factory! This car has too many incorrect stuff. If it didn’t come with a shaker or go wing you de value the car altering it! The color Sassy grass is not the same as Sublime either!

    Cudas and Challengers were never built in Canada until the new Challengers started being built in Brampton in 2008. Many early e-bodies were shipped to Canada but they were all built in USA..I own seven e-bodies right now and they were all built at the Hamtrack and St Louis plants.

    Perhaps you should check if vintage cars are tax exempt or taxed at a reduced rate in your country. You might be surprised.

  • @neutrals
    @neutrals 15 років тому

    The thing about singapore is that the bulk of our taxes are based on the engine's displacement. like for example, a ferrari 430's road tax annually is roughly USD$3200 for 10 yeras. after that it's a 10% surcharge for every additional year. plus the insurance annually is USD$10000. oh and the best bit is the price, brand new with basic options one would be looking at $USD415,000. so a big engine like the HEMI would be very-very expensive here in Singapore.

    Looks more like Curious Yellow not Sassy Grass Green. Maybe it is the lighting as both colors are know for their different hues under certain lighting conditions.

    I was thinking the same thing, "if I ever win the lottery..." I wouldn't want a original because the first day of having it I'd melt the tires off it destroy the clutch and rear end and possibly blow the engine. There would be so much smoke you'd think there was a forest fire. Can't have that much fun in a original.

  • @seanthorton3054

    The Shaker hood should have come standard on a Hemi car, unless it was sold new in Alaska or Canada. Sassy grass green was only available from June thru August of 1970, so the car must have an early build date being a '71 model. Also, this car being a 'Cuda in Sassy Grass Green, paint code FJ6, it should have come with a color keyed grill. l'm positive that if Galen Govier took a look at this car, he would say that it's a CLONE.

    • @classicrockandcars

      It is a clone. They say "Date coded' but they don't say "numbers matching."

      sean thorton. I was the 2nd original owner of a 71 Hemicuda for 27 years, sold new in Montreal, Canada. The car was FJ6, automatic, vinyl top with louvers, wing spoiler, Ralley dash with 8'000 RPM, leather interior, Shaker Hood as standard equipment, Bill board stripes, all matching#. The build date was March 1971. I have all the paper work on this car since new.

    • @missingremote4388
      @missingremote4388 7 років тому

      Nick Panaritis I think that Sean is saying people above the 48° parallel shouldn't have optional shaker hoods because of the heavy winters.

    When you build a reproduction, some parts are reproduced, hence the "reproduction". Painted fender bolts cost way more than plated, so no corners cut there. All steel body, nicely done, not going to a concours show to be judged on authenticity, just on quality. Thanks for looking.
    Care to share a video of your 71 HEMI shaker Cuda with us so we can review it?

    i gotta say that i love your videos. where i come from, singapore to be exact, we do not get any american muscle cars at all. well apart from the Chrysler 300C HEMI though. plus if we did, the taxes would be too high to keep. anyway just wana say keep it up and hope to see more from you guys.

    "The hemi has been dynode at 600 hp". This is incorrect. IN a episode of American Muscle Car TV show, it dynode at 800 hp. It's only downfall was they usually didn't get the 3.89 gears that made it operate correctly on the street.

    • @w41duvernay
      @w41duvernay 8 років тому

      Don't insult the messager! Now I'm going to have to find the vid, so you can see it your self. The only difference from stock was the OEM exhaust manifolds were replaced by headers. Many of the musclecars of the 60/70s had their manifolds reaplaced once the car left the dealership floor by the owner.

    • @classicrockandcars
      @classicrockandcars 8 років тому

      This isn't stock

    • @w41duvernay
      @w41duvernay 8 років тому +1

      It was common for guys to replace the OEM exhaust manifolds with headers back then. BTW, the test only was run with headers on the HEMI. NO other changes.

    • @classicrockandcars
      @classicrockandcars 8 років тому

      ... the Hemi in this car is not stock to this car. Who knows beyond that.
