My locs are 2.5 years old and pretty locked and sturdy in the middle, do you think ill still be able to install extensions using your method?

A little funny to explain but you unravel it like a braid. So you could cut off the extensions and comb out the rest from your hair
Is it the same method for doing the sisterloc with extensions? Can u keep them in and never take them out? Will they lock into your own hair
Yes to all those questions but the sister Locs needs to be still on the soft new side

Do you recommend these for thin hair over the standard locs extensions?
I recommend these if you already have or want sisterlocks but I don’t recommend any extensions for thin hair because you don’t want extra weight on the hair. If the hair is thin because of damage, you want to let it naturally get back healthy. But if the hair is thin because of genetics, I recommend twists loc extensions
What about if I'm trying to grow my edges?

Definitely! But I would do the natural hair first, then attach these
