Last time I was there was 2016. The mall wasn't there yet.
It has made a big difference in quality of life here for sure.
Had my birthday party / engagement at the Villa Marcelina, not far from my fiancé's barangay, I noticed that the roads had a lot of heavy trucks coming from the Calbayog side of things. Needless to say at the best of times the roads weren't great. At one stage going up to Elyn's house I had to get out and walk the trike was struggling with my demure frame and the hill 😂😂
Villa Marcelina used to be called Palubgnom Beach (sp), and a great getaway destination (by boat) before a road was built and it was commercialized. Progress isn't always good. I gave up on trikes and centercars (motorelas) years ago... not good on the 'ole lower back!
Much the same my neck of the woods, very few beaches or seaside towns that haven't been commercialised. Luckily there's the odd few that still remain. Christian catered wonderfully for us on our trip down there to the Mango. Not very many Irish lads in there in fairness 😂 but the word is out now amongst my fellows, you might just see a few more of the Emerald Isle brigade heading to beautiful Samar. Takes much more than walking. Get rid of the carbs. But that's can be difficult in the PI. Walking is still key to health, especially at our age.
Walking to get a Cheeseburger! But in all actuality, walking does burn mor fat than jogging. Fact.
Nice village. I always walk with a stick in PI. Some dogs get bold. But beautiful there in your area. So lush. What's your hottest temperatures there? I bet your heat indexes are easily 100 plus.
