- Ep 363 - We find a bakery in the jungle and brought home a Filipino breakfast cuisine called Pande coco for breakfast. There is nothing better than eating pan desal with morning coffee in the Philippines. Then it was off to pay my billiards gaming debt and I found my wife sneaking yet another breakfast!
We're living a tropical island lifestyle from the Philippines to Guam. Come along as we travel back and forth sharing slices of life from the 🌴 Tropic Shade.™ I've spent over 19 years living in the Far East and the Western Pacific and I still have a firm grip on that spirit of adventure. No place can be called Paradise without the Beaches, Rainbows, Waterfalls, Fiestas, Sunsets, and Happy & Friendly Peoples! #paradise #guam #philippines

All the roosters remind me of my childhood. I like this video. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
There's a bakery by us that makes great pan de sal. If you don't get there by 5:30 AM they're usually sold out.
Why is it that no coffee shops open until 9am but the pandesal is gone by 0530?
Randy I thoroughly enjoyed this video! The bakery and the pool hall are very interesting. Your village looks very laid-back. Good luck with your next pool game! Jack 👍
Thanks so much!
Billiards "pool" is very popular here and many are very good at it. Lots of sharks out there also.
They invent a lot of games also!
I learned a long time ago, that I'll only drink with people I can trust them with my life, and if no one around I will drink alone and safe my life and my money too. But that's just me.
Another great video! Full support as always & Good luck po/Ned 👍👏👍
I was the only one drinking (one bottle of Grande)... all others were minors! 😂 I don't drink with locals otherwise unless I know them.
@@TropicShade 🎉
@@TropicShade I'm retired Air Force. I use to drink regularly. I'm 66 now and I might drink a 12oz beer once a month. That's maybe! Nothing good comes out of drinking. Waste money, mind, and can cause tough guy syndrome.
We got hustled with Click bait! Good video
I could a few more good hustles!
Wow Sari Sari bakery 😮
Lose money and they will want more. Win money and they will resent it. Lose lose.
Losing is a winning proposition!
Love pandasal. Try Philadelphia cream cheese on that. And coffee. I think pandasal breaks down in Spanish as "bread of salt"
In Guam, they make Ube pandesal filled with cream cheese!
. You know something? I wonder at times if I started that cream cheese on Pandasal thing back on Saipan. When I'd visit my soon to be wife at her barracks, I turned everybody on to that, and it was a hit every time I showed up. They still talk about it till this day.
So, it was you that made Saipan fat! lol
Ward loves pan de coco. Yum. Actually they're cheap
Well hello! It's been a long time since I heard from you guys. Hope all is well!
Saw ur shirt didnt know Jeffs Pirate Cove was still up and running
Yup... I even tip back a few beers with "The Pirate" himself on occasion. I recently built him new UA-cam channel... check it out - www.youtube.com/@JPCGuam
What you guys see in the Philippines I'll never know. Especially to retire. I've been there numerous times in the 90's and tried living in Angeles but could only stand 8 months. It definitely isn't for most and that's for sure. Also not as cheap as some like to make you think. It can be depending on the individual. I'm also married to a pinay and she has no desire but to visit. The not-so good ole US is fine with me. No unexpected surprises or very little inconveniences. Different strokes for different folks for sure.
It's all about taking life easy. We have a comfortable home and live by ourselves. It's also about being close to family. But Guam is where we feel more comfortable at... love our western conveniences!
@@TropicShade I feel more comfortable here in the US due to knowing how our system operates. I worked hard for my conveniences and I plan on keeping them as long as the good Lord permits. Yes, I'm spoiled rotten but I wouldn't have it any other way. I don't find the US as stressful as some claim due to not getting involved in politics or chasing the money trail which is like living on a treadmill. Be grateful for what you have and the rest will take care of itself. Been to Guam once in the military. Can't say I would like living there as I like my space. Too small for me. My wife lived there for 15 years before in Yigo. I met her here in Mississippi. Good luck to both of you!
I left CA and took a job in Tupelo once... told my wife I'd give MS one year, then we are gone. Stayed for nearly 20. MS was very good to us. Like you, the wife and I have concluded that a comfortable retirement lifestyle is top priority. We love our amenities and conveniences (and all the reliable things), and Guam is a good fit for us - culture, natural beauty, the ocean, warm weather... and the food. Not sure how long it's been since you were in Guam, but it has grown a little. I'm sure your wife misses the island.
@@TropicShade I think it was around 1995 when I was TDY(Temporary Duty) in Guam. I was an Air Reserve Technician (Reserves/Civil service) at Barksdale AFB in Shreveport Louisiana with an A-10 outfit. I retired from the government with 38 years of service. My wife left Guam on December 5, 2015 and moved to Gulfport Mississippi. She lived in Guam for 15 years. She works on NCBC Gulfport Seabee base. I'm originally from the Dallas-Fort Worth area but I moved to Mississippi because most of my relatives are Mississippians. I tried living in the Philippines in 2002 but could only take 8 months. Too many inconveniences and so much poverty. Sickening to say the least. I like Southern Mississippi due to its cheaper cost of living compared to other places. Good luck to you and your wife and we'll keep checking out your you tube videos. By the way, my wife was born in Tacloban and raised in Caloocan City metro Manila.
@@Robert-ho1ie Ah, your wife is Waray! So, does she miss Guam?
Entertaining, where is this?
We are currently in the province north of Calbayog City, Samar, Philippines.
Sure give us click bait. Lol 😆
Lol 😆 🤣 😂
Will you be back in Guam any time this year?
Yes, soon.
Did she say, HELLO? and a four letter word passing the pig pin?
Must have missed that! lol
That's a nice looking pool table. I know I would have to play too. You know that place way better than your wife. 😂 Men just go anywhere, but that's how you find gems. I guess that's how you found your wife. In Australia they call it a walkabout... Seek and ye shall find... Not always smart, but always interesting...
I found the pool table before I found the bakery! 🤣
I guess some people never learn. lol
Funny, that's what my mother used to say!
Ain't nothing wrong with having a little fun either way
Hot pandesal and a dab of butter, good stuff.
Yes, oh yes... wohoo!
They used to go door to door , along with the fish , and fruit sellers.
Yes, but by the time they get to our house... out of stock!
Better pay your debts with those small little dark Samar alleyways. Even if it's only 300 pesos. Those pool hustlers were giving you the "stink eye".
Nothing good happens after dark, and in my case, I lose money at pool!
Ok, I'm going to drive 45mins to get me some pandasal.
I'll drive that far for Ube pandesal with cream cheese!
What did I just watch?
Not sure, but thanks anyway! 😉
😂 wild

Expat vloggers are now becoming TMZ vloggers in an effort to earn a living thru vlogging.
Are you running out of money now?? Why are you resorting to "gossip" kind of vlogs??
Poor value-budget expats.
Funny how TMZ could be pronounced like the Tagalog word "Tsismis" which is spot on considering they both mean the same thing - gossip, rumor, hearsay, etc. There is absolutely nothing creative about making gossip videos, and they lead one to question the type of viewers those channels attract. Thanks for sharing!
Please don't show the "land mine' next time, disgusting.
Sorry, some things here cannot be avoided!
I hope you were kidding. You dont actually believe they "made" you drink? Your grown man. They can't make you do anything. Lol 😆
That's what I told my wife! 😉
